  • There is a Texas twang, and it exists all over the state, not just in East or West Texas. Lyndon Johnson was from Central Texas, not too many miles from San Antonio. And you could cut his twang with a knife.

  • Texas -3

  • Well hello Tina...

  • 2:31 "Let me get a picture of a jackass for my Facebook!"

  • I love this movie, and Texans! Hello from Down Under!

  • LOL @ 1:11

  • Turst me, Texans are not this stupid they were thinking of Georgia (no offence geogians).

  • @FuyuAkiWorld You misspelled 'offense'.

  • I visited the Alamo in 1985. Yes, there IS a basement!

  • @TrevorDrumster No podcasts in 1985

  • @TrevorDrumster I'm with you fellow Texan!

  • 1. Some of us do wear cowboy hats.

    2. I'm proud of the Texas twang.

    3. This is a really funny scene. Jan Hooks is hilarious.

    4. "Theres no basement in the A-la-mo!"

(There are basements in the separate library and gift shop buildings, but there is no basement in the original Alamo church building.)

  • @SymphonyBrahms If you're from San Antonio (like me), you have an "accent neutral" midwestern accent. East and west Texas have the "twang." NICE TRY.

  • @TrevorDrumster Not everyone talks like that; just former presidents and governors.

  • I love her accent

  • LOL @2:31--kid taking the picture. XD

  • Yes, there are thousands and thousands of uses for corn--all of which I will tell you about right now!

  • In case anyone is at San Fernando Mission, all the spots from this tour can still be seen ..

    - Pee-Wee first walks into one of the museum rooms (Davy Crockett and other dummies were added in)

    - Pedro and Inez are in the blacksmith room (presumably added in too .. you can see the 'Weaving Room' sign behind them)

    - The kitchen is in the Majordomo's house (with the same decor and female dummy)

    - The end of the tour is in the courtyard by the real gift shop (you still have to use the other door!)

  • This is simply humor and anyone who doesn't get it should reflect on the semi-racial things they find funny. Then check the hypocrisy. And enjoy the simple humor that was intended here. There was no offense designed into the script...

  • This is bullshit! You're supposed to take your hat off when you enter the Alamo!

  • This people are a bunch of jerks.

  • My country of Mexico got JACKED, Texas Belongs To Mexico!!!

  • @chitown1051 americans kicked your asses for it.

  • @link0zeldarulz89 Im gonna be honest you Americans should of jacked all of mexico that way there would be less problems and maybe you could have made us the original Texans-Mexicans your slaves just how all the scum European monarchies do take over all the land and kill everyone off pathetic

  • lol

  • The Alamo DOES have a basement. I read about it in a book about Texas ghosts.

  • His face in the beginning lol

  • @CFRipster his face during like the entire clip nearly LOL...what a great actor/comedian.

  • @TrevorDrumster Like carymc said,it's just a movie. However, I think people should vote Trevor's comment back up, as it was a completely valid and appropriate expression of opinion. All the things he mentioned are fact and I don't find anything offensive about him stating it.

  • I'm from Houston and think this part is hilarious.

  • @3lullabies it is still the Alamo it's the backyard of it I've seen it many times.

  • DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEJAS

  • ha the kid took a picture of peewee when he learned the alamo didnt have a basement

  • Has the tour guide appeared in any other movies or TV shows? She looks SO familiar to me.

  • @lurch321 Jan Hooks..SNL

  • @lurch321 Jan Hooks is best known on TV when she joined Designing Women, replacing Jean Smart (Charlene.)

  • @lurch321 Jan Hooks- She was a member of the SNL cast in the late 80's-early 90's.

  • Poor, gullible Pee Wee: humiliated by a fortune-teller. Maybe Pastor Muthee should've drove her out of town? :)

  • buenos dias

  • I hate when everyone laughs at him :(

  • How embarassing! Poor pee wee

  • @JRTodd10 I agree. I also felt sad for Pee Wee that he was at the bus station about to buy his ticket to go home probably finding out that he was tricked by the fortune teller and feeling that he wasted his time coming all the way to Texas far away from his home state for nothing.

  • 2 People Asked To See The Basement!!!

  • Jan Hooks is amazing.

  • @TrevorDrumster I.. remember... the Alamo. Yeeeehaaaawwww!

  • their actually are basements at the alamo !!

  • the end of this isnt at the Alamo,i might be wrong but it looks like the quadrangle at Fort Sam Houston. Its either that or one of the other Missions,San Jose maybe.

  • Pee Wee's reaction at 1:42 is priceless.

  • Wheres the basement?

  • I love the scene how Pee Wee has those two cowboys surronding him HA HA...and that one kid takes his picture when they laugh at him.

  • @TrevorDrumster

but you texans have brown teeth though... that stereotype is true right?

  • @Andrewsafb71= And your underpants are as brown as a Snickers bar. Ha ha ha.

  • @vigo894 LMFAO!

  • "do we have any mexican-americans with us today?" um, ya, about a hundred million!!

  • The fact that this is all such a total pile of bullshit is what makes it so funny. I especially found it hilarious in the next part where he gets bucked off the bull and he cant remember anything....except the Alamo, and all the "Texans" lose their minds. Its hilarious (notice on the payphone when he calls his girlfriend and the phone has a PacBell tag on it....not Southwestern Bell) Im from San Antonio and still live there.....and I think this is hilarious.

  • @expostfactum- Comedy films immitate how funny real life is, its just a movie, its not an actual scene from real life, plus everything was more simple in 1985

  • wow, what a boring tour! I would have wander off and looked for the basement myself.

  • "Do we have any Mexican-Americans with us today? Well Buenos Dias!" xD

  • Can you say A-DOUGH-BEE? Well can you? LOL

  • @TrevorDrumster If you're looking to Pee Wee for accurate history you might want to reconsider your sources.

  • @TrevorDrumster ya for gods sake its just a funny movie

  • @TrevorDrumster They had podcast back in 1985??

  • Lol clearly many of you have not been to texas. Its full of Ravers, Thugs, Punks, and it seems like everyone and their mother drives a bigass lifted truck. We also take pride in our gun laws...just sayin haha

  • @TrevorDrumster There were tour guides before they had the audio headsets. I believe they barely implemented those in august of 2010

  • @TrevorDrumster :

Were you asleep in kindergarten when the concept of Satire was explained? Or are you just reinforcing another Texas stereotype?

  • I love Jan Hooks!

  • @TrevorDrumster Lol chillax, man. How boring would it be if they made Texans all...normalish with generic accents?

  • @TrevorDrumster

Plus the movie was made in 1985, so things like podcasts weren't dreamed of yet.

  • The Alamo had human tour guides back in the 1980s when this movie was made.

Most Texans also have a sense of humor. Git one, pardner.

Howdy from Fort Bend County, TX!

  • 1:13 gotta love it.

  • WELL BUENOS DIAS!!

  • @TrevorDrumster it's a movie from the 80s. no podcasts.

  • I'd nail Tina!

  • "where's the basement?"

  • seventaen eighteaeeen

  • do we have any mexican americans with us today? Well Buenus Dias!

  • adobe, can we all say that with me? ADOOOBEEE!

  • Why is Tina standing in the kitchen exhibit?

  • There's no Basement in the Alamo. One of the most epic lines ever uttered in a comedy!

  • funny cause a i live near san antonio i live in shertz texas

  • @TrevorDrumster "The Alamo does not have human tour guides, just recorded podcasts."

You don't remember when this was made, do you?

  • thanking for posting this!

  • @TrevorDrumster It's a movie.

  • man, thats EXACTLY how a tour guide is...hands down lol

  • pee-wee = every single non-texan tourist visiting the alamo totally unaware that the alamo is a big piece of texas history

  • @6spongey98 I think most people who tour it are aware that is important. Why else would they be there?

  • @6spongey98 i asked someone from california if they knew what the alamo was about

they told me that there was a movie about it and that was all they knew about it.

  • This peewee thing is so funny! I'm seeing it with my friend on Broadway this weekend! :) :)

  • adobe hahahaha

  • this is actually the 2nd movie they used san antonio in a movie

  • at 1:42 he looks so impatient; poor Pee Wee. He just wants to see his bike :'(

  • I like how they all laugh at him, like he's some kind of freak for not knowing that there's no basement at the Alamo

  • I've seen the basement, and it is good.

  • @thenintendogamer

As a Texan, I can assure you we have accents. (We can't hear them because its all we hear)

Its just very few Texans have an accent as thick, fake, and forced as that womans.

  • @MaximoMachismo I never noticed. I'm from Houston, which is very urban so not sure if that kakes a difference.

  • @thenintendogamer

I'm from H-Town too bro, we all have accents but we're so used to them we don't notice. Go up north for a few years then come back and you'll know what im sayin'

  • @MaximoMachismo I was born and raised in Texas and I don't have a hint of a Southern twang in my accent at all. In fact many people think I'm from up North. It really depends on where in Texas you were raised. Dallas for me.

  • jan hooks is so hot!!!

Kristen Wiig has nothing on her, i mean by snl character acting wise & looks

  • @mikecop87

I was in LOVE with Jan Hooks.

  • I love this movie!

  • One of my many fave scenes! At first I thought this scene was shown to reveal Pee Wee's ADHD but now I think it was to point out how tedious group tours and tour guides can really be for most young people.. Maybe both? lol!

  • I love how Jan Hooks makes the crowd repeat "Adobe" - like they're 5 year olds! LOL

  • @scottbaino A lot of elementary school teachers treat their grown children and husbands this way - they can't shut IT off!

  • i use to watch this movie like over and over again it's a classic! I remember me and my mom going across country and i would always ask if we can go to the alamo so we stopped and i remember looking around for the basement and this lady was like do you need help? I was like iam looking for the basement and she raised her eyebrow and gave me a weird look haha

  • I have Part 1 of this movie on youtube :D

  • Do I hear someone's stomach growling?

  • @DV8hc: why don't you pay for it you cheap-o? you think you deserve to get everything for free? was this movie made for free? is music made for free? NO

  • I wonder how many people because of this movie, go the Alamo, and ask to see the basement. LoL

  • When do we get to see the basement?

  • can some one upload this movie!?!?!?!? or send me to a place were i can see it?

  • @DV8hc Netflix

  • @carymc yeah but some place were i dont have to pay for it or download it

  • @DV8hc No.

  • @DV8hc You can buy it for like 5 bucks on amazon, Don't be a cheap-ass.

  • lmfao'd at the kid who took a picture of him

  • own the sat of an indian burial ma-ee-yound."

    Damn, that's a tripthong!

  • What a terrible tour guide!! I know it's just a light comedy, but a guide at the Alamo wouldn't wait till the last minute of the tour to tell the people that a famous battle took place there. The whole significance of the Alamo is the battle, not tortillas and stuff like that.

If you watch the really old movie VIVA MAX (1969) starring Peter Ustinov, there is a scene where a tour guide leads a group through the Alamo and she does a much better job!

  • @cryptical70 You should've stopped at "I know it's just a light comedy," because everything after that was moronic.

  • "whats your name kid?

    -i dont remember

    "where you from"

    -i dont remember

    "do you remember anything?

    -i remember.....THE ALAMO!

    YEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAA!

  • Holy shit.... Texans do not sound like her lol.

  • @T00KAH It's a comedy.

  • this is an awesome movie!!!!

  • Well buenos dias.

    BUENOS DIAS!

  • I was just at the Alamo the other day, I don't remember seeing any of this other stuff here like the kitchen... lol this is a classic part!

  • "Yes there are thousands and thousands of uses for corn. All of witch I will tell you about right now!" ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • WTF DID SHE SAY BILL TRAVIS?

  • Yes, she was referring to William Barret Travis, known to his friends as "Bill".

If you appreciate historical accuracy, you'll just love the Alamo movie starring Billy Bob Thornton. And of course I hope you know I'm joking.

  • there's no basement at the alamo!

  • @EDMUNDO256 That was one of the funniest lines in the movie.

  • I like how the little kid snaps a picture at the end.

  • What a bitch!

  • @phuckinaye It's a comedy!

  • I used to live about 5 miles away from the Alamo.

  • @ac120479 Fascinating. Tell us more. House or apartment? Which direction from the Alamo, north, south, east or west?

  • @ac120479 It was the northeast side of San Antonio, near Judson and 35.

  • Heh, I'll bet the Alamo staff hate Pee Wee now!

If I ever went to the Alamo, it'd be solely to ask to see the basement!

  • @glyphhunter, I wonder how many times a week they get asked to see the basement. They would be like, "Great. Another Pee Wee Herman fan."

I would ask to see it too! :)

P.S. I want to go on a date with Dottie. We could see a drive-in movie and talk about my bike horn.

  • I think its hilarious to see everyone into the tour. lol just their faces crack me up. hahaha

  • well BUENOS DIAS!!

  • lol the whole film is so funny. Great film I watched as a kid.

  • wtf basement? BS

  • @wargraymon2006 It's a comedy!

  • The history of The Alamo is incorrect:

The original Alamo fortress was totally subterranean; the fortress were a series of undulating underground catacombs. But, upon returning to their base of operations after long days of raping and pillaging, the mexican soldiers had trouble finding it because it was so well camouflaged. So, mexican engineers (local indian peasants) were commissioned to fill in the subterranean rooms, and built the present structure you see today.

    And there you have it.

  • Where was I back in the good ole days of Mexican soldiers raping and pillaging?

  • @yieldyieldyield You were several generations from yer grandad being in his conquistador dad's BoZak...

  • @yieldyieldyield Oh you were there, in your former life. You were getting raped and pillaged though.

Aren't you glad that has been wiped from your memory now?

  • I read De Santa Ana also has something to do with chewing gum; hence her spitting out her gum after mentioning his name. Pretty clever, eh?

  • Hello Pedro! Hello Inez! I like your blood-decorated clay pot. XD

  • THERES NO BASEMENT AT THE ALAMO HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :b lol

  • anytime i hear someone say the alamo I ask them wheres the basement just to see if they know what im talkin about.

  • Theres no freakin basement in the Alamo idiot!

  • oh tina.

  • i never understood why he thought there was a basement and why he wanted to there. everyone laughing at him is hilarious.

  • The fortune teller told him that his bike was located in the basement of the Alamo

  • @stimpp Did you watch the entire movie?

  • when they said "Davey" Crockett in the movie. thats wrong. his name is "David" Crockett and that's what he liked to go by. but i love this movie!

  • this is one of my favorite scenes.,,thanks for posting!

  • apparently this entire scene was improvised

  • He was looking for his bicycle.

  • I agree. I felt bad that everyone was laughing at Pee Wee. (After Pee Wee ran out of the Alamo, I know in the next scene Pee Wee was at the bus station waiting to get on the bus to go home, and he was probably thinking that as soon as he got home, he was going to sue Madamruby for lying to him that his bike is in the basement of the Alamo. Or, maybe Pee Wee was going to confront Madamruby for lying to him just so that he can get his money back from her).

  • TEXAS HERE I COME !!!

  • I went to the Alamo, didn't see this stuff, and there was no tour . . .

  • From about 10 seconds till the end. IS NOT THE ALAMO. THERE IS NO TOUR AND NONE OF THE SCENES AFTER :10 ARE THE REAL ALAMO.

  • ooohhh. thanks for clearing that up!

  • maybe it was changed from all those years...this movie came out in 1985

  • I can certify that the Alamo has never offered a tour nor has the SA parks and rec. given a tour or controlle any Alamo assets.

  • @craigisbond007 It's a movie.

  • omg it's just a fucking movie!

  • @craigisbond007 It's the San Fernando Mission in California.

  • @craigisbond007 It's a movie.

  • @helenschmelen It's a comedy!
