As a Gemologist with over 35 years experience in diamond grading and testing, I find this video of little use to help someone determine if a stone is a diamond. While some of these tests could be helpful, none will help you know for sure. All of them can only be used as "possible clues" , but if you make a decision on that basis, but you could still very wrong!

My friend you could tell a real diamond from a fake is do as follow: step 1 have a mirror ( size doesn't matter ) step 2 get the diamond piece and get mirror if you take a real diamond it will scratch the mirror with ease if it is fake if will not scratch the mirror easily just slide it across and the real diamond should make a scratch while the fake one will just slide. :) hope this helps

Too complicated... the method I use is much simpler and don't use anything, but the tip of my tongue. The real diamond has very high coefficient of the heat transmission, which is unique for diamonds, so the REAL diamond will feel cold when touched with the tip of my tongue. @ThemediaTutorials1 take it to a gemologist, they will tell you if its real or not. You can then take it also to an appraiser where you pay about 40 to tell you the worth of it and document that for you - just dont tell him its for sale and let them know its for insurance purpose.

There are some sleazy ones out there but on the whole a good jeweller will help you as much as they can because ours is a community of trust. Don't be so quick to call them liars or untrustworthy. If you mean to say that replacing a diamond for someone who lost or broke a stone with one of an inferior quality is ripping the customer off, I agree. However if it is requested that a 25 point, VVS1, D colour diamond replace one that is broken, then a good jeweller would replace that stone exactly. Believe me, it is as easy to find a diamond of just about any size & quality as it is to call up a stone dealer.

Diamond has four directions of cleavage, meaning that if it receives a sharp blow in one of these directions it may cleave, chip or split . If you hit it the wrong way the stone can and will split into pieces.
