  • Interesting component. I've never seen one before. Hard to get used to the slowed-down tempo, honestly - but interesting technology memories. Props.

  • Does anyone know the instruments, keyboards in particular, that were used on this studio album? Live, there isn't a digital keyboard to be seen. Sure it was 1978, but in the studio the higher paying musicians and record labels had access to the multi-thousand dollar Fairlight synthesizers using digital software. This album really is a masterpiece and I will re-upload the audio once I get a tighter belt for my player.

  • Like Beck? How can you not? How can you not like Al? Ever notice the similarities? How could you not like them? The bands are even similar.

So how do like a first generation digital sound direct from 8 track tape? Warm real wonderful...

Each track is 11:14, but it actually switched tracks at 12:10. Calculated it's about 25 extra seconds per song...yeah' I need a new belt on my Qatron, but like Al's voice a little deeper and slower.

  • Al Stewart's music is a stamp of the times much like the smell of cinnamon is to ones remembrance of a time and place. Our memories are always better or worse than what really happened. Let this 8-track be a more accurate glimpse to those who weren't there, and a less accurate one to those who bought it on vinyl. I have no idea how many 'cents' All's voice is off by. Just a little flat. My Qatron has two parallel belts and one is loose the other tight. I shall replace it soon enough.
