  • Thumbs up if you freaked out too when you realized that Max Headroom is the neighbor kids Dad in Honey I shrunk The Kids.......

  • Love the compilation, but you can't copyright someone else's copyrighted works...

  • This shit was so far ahead of its time, it's hysterical. It's STILL ahead of its time, even now. A standout for parody.

  • I was about 5 or 6 when I saw this guy. Scared the shit out me then but couldn't stop watching him. Still awesome and I wish someone would bring him back.

  • The Watchmen are watching...

  • Siri P/N: 1980 Male

  • i don´t know why i remember every word :S

  • Not as cool as I remember it being. :(

  • creepy shit

  • i liked it when the guy hijacked the doctor who broadcast while wearing a max headroom mask

  • More like Mitt Romney. The twitchiness, the poor sense of humor, the immovable hair, the stuttering.

  • Could this be foreshadowing of Bill Wood a.k.a. Bill Brockbrader?

  • shitty edditting. annoying at that.

  • MAX HEADROOM SUFFERS TOURETTE!!!!

  • Well M-M-Matt.... You're still a w-w-wanker.

  • Youtube Poop: It's older than you think.

  • every single time this...thing laughs...oh lord. that sound will follow me into my nightmares for years to come.

  • WAYYYYYY before Carrey!!!!!

  • sounds like jim carrey, looks like jim carrey, acts like jim carrey. which came first? jim carrey or max headroom?

  • I think Max Headroom was the original YouTuber

  • Wtf !? Annoying...

  • "Max Headroom Rulz The Cyberuniverse?"

  • I loved this show back in the day. They could never bring it back with the same coolness. Its a great memory for me. :)

  • Surely Jim Carrey provided Max's voice? His mannerisms are a perfect match too.

  • @sgtgrash Nope. It was Matt Frewer... before anyone knew who Jim Carrey was.

  • @JinnOsyde I did wonder, I mean Jim would have only been about 10 yrs old when this was made. Perhaps Max is Jims Dad? lol

  • Max Headroom! That's his name. It took me forever to find this. Talk about looking up random shit on google...

  • They really need to bring this guy back in full CGI form. It'll be perfect for making a tribute to the Cafe '80s of Back to the Future II in 2015.

  • only you can save us now Max!

  • Max would look perfect in a SS uniform.

  • Ja :D

  • Kto od ArEoHemixa? :D

  • SHODAN and Jim Carrey had a baby.

  • I always loved the glitches. Hahahahahaha ahahhaha ahhah ha hahaha cotton... cotton... cotton... wonderful to wear! piss pis piston heads! Max Headlamp... Stick.. stick... stickshift... it in their exhaust pipe and choke it!! Eh, smoke it! Hahahahahaha ahahhaha ahhah ha ha hahaha

  • Hey, he's the father of SHODAN!

  • The original youtube poop creator

  • AHHAHAHAHA!! See, now talking in German are we? Problematically, I'm german yes, but only half German, I'm still learning, so how do you expect me to undertstand a foreign language I am not "fluent" in, when it's also edited by pitch and speed, now that's a total challenge max.

  • this is so crazy! I haven't watched the max's clips since I was a child. Thanks for posting it. It's a nice selection. :)

  • John Cleese and Jim Carrey in the body of Duke Nukem?

  • This guy reminds me of Jim Carrey.

  • @Butterfunky7 Max was first! :-)

  • 3:58 -shit. this is creepy

  • It's kind of weird to see Matt Frewer in Watchman and Eureka. I just sit there thinking "But that's Max Headroom..." I was quite young during the reign of Max Headroom and the first time I saw Matt Frewer on tv I was a little weirded out. Being young and naive I thought Max Headroom was a computer generated image... It never occurred to me that he was a real person. It really is amazing to see what technology was capable of even back in the 80's.

  • Max Headroom was a product of industrial light & magic. He's a CGI pseudo-3d character.

  • Trash Can Man.....from "The Stand"

  • What ujust happeneiud!?

  • watching this on acid must be amazing

  • mindfuckery.

  • This guy is so like joe biden, the only difference he's smarter.

  • @327409427 Anyone is smarter than Biden.

  • @327409427 Romney.

  • i used to get creeped out by this guy when i was 9yrs old

  • TimThis: hate to correct you, but the "moving lines" backgrounds were early CGI rendered on a Commodore Amiga. That's the full extent of CGI in this product, though. Max's appearence is achieved through late,x apparatus, and his trademarke "stuttering" effectc were all practical effects achieved through editing.

  • How bout dis=I went to a seafood disco last week...and pulled a muscle................Hahahahahahaha...mint ya'll

  • Now 4 some jokes homies, A guy walks into the psychiatrist wearing only Clingfilm for shorts.

The shrink says, "Well, I can clearly see you're nuts

  • Yup, yup Brenda's in da hoooouuuuse :>

  • Dis guy did not claim a copyright coz he smells like shite, where is my apple and pie????

  • My name is Brenda I love da splenda. It makes my tea taste sooooooo goody goody.

  • Did this guy claim a copyright for editing someone else's property?!?

  • What's shout cast?

  • Oh man I remember Max Headroom!! This is fantastic.

What's more fantastic is the fact that you were able to claim copyright over this without Youtube cracking down on you by wither pulling this video or shutting down your account!

  • Max Headroom's real name was Matt Frewer (recently in the movie 50/50 with Joseph Gordon-Levitt). They really only "partially" digitized him - it is mostly his own voice and facial expressions, with some of the "edges" and hair added in.

  • @jamdad13 It's not digitized at all. It's just post weird editing. That's latex make up and the even the early backgrounds were not computer generated, probably green screened.

  • Shit, Max are you Duke Nukem too ? I'm confused.....(ps. no matter, still love ya xxx)

  • Hahahaha Copyright??? Are you kidding me??

  • I was a kid when this came out !!! i love it!!!

  • I remember Max Headroom from back when i was kid. It was a head trip then and it is a head trip now. MAX HEADROOM IS AWWWWESOME!!

  • The bit about carparts was absolutely hilarious!

  • I had no idea autotune was an invention of the 80's. Is there a place you can see full episodes of this show?

  • @NaziZombieKiller1991 Apparently Shoutcast (?) released it on DVD in 2010.

  • Great show, way ahead of its time.

  • hahahahhhahahahahahaahhah great post!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • was this a early graphics video??

  • @Wesley683 No, it was supposed to look that way but it was Matt Frewer in prosthetics and a fibreglass suit, then the stuttering and clipping was added in post production. Pretty effective!

  • @anthem47 oh ok but it looked pretty cool

  • @Wesley683 That is the actor Matt Frewer in makeup in front of a greenscreen for the background graphic.

  • @Malvisk yea, its pretty cool though

  • Ha ha! He looks and acts like Glenn Beck.

  • @mj1956 Oh, now that's not nice. Max deserves better than that!

  • Been so long since I seen this show.

Extract from Wiki, my memory not as good as it used to be ;)

The background story provided for the Max Headroom character presents a dystopic look at a run-down near-future dominated by television and large corporations. Max Headroom was shown to have been created from the memories of Edison Carter. The character's name came from the last thing Carter saw during a vehicular accident that put him into a coma: A bar with a sign warning of low clearance, marke

  • There was a man riding his motorbike into a multi-story carpark and stood up on his bike and didnt see the "Max Headroom 2.0M" sign and lost his head. Then Max Headroom was born.

You Pacific Rim nuts are all nutters. Whinging about sex n shit.

This show was on Australian ABC while some of you were in diapers and by the looks of the comments you still are.

    All hail Max Headroom.

Aussie Aussie Aussie, oi oi oi.

Least over here in the Asia Pacific Region we know how to spell and notice good comedy

  • @nsofast u know what canadians call fat people....?? americans! u redneck hillbilly 4 chinned grease slurpin fuck every yank owns a gun why dont u do the world a favor and swallow some buckshot u fuckin douche!

  • fuck this is creepy

  • @FrobblOo Agreed. My sphincter is twitching faster than a rabbits nose!!

  • @ZyxthePest Tim and Eric use crappy middle-school green-screen editing techniques and call it funny. This guy is funny all by himself, and the techniques only add to his personality. So yeah, talentless hacks.

  • He was putting out youtube poops before there was an internet! :D

  • was this ever its own show? How didn't the world blow up

  • This video is fucking stupid. However, Max Headroom is classic.

  • Chris Hardwick brought me here.

  • @Supertrekkie4 Same here.

  • 1:35 whats with the clock in the corner?

Does Max remind anybody else of

jim Carey or is it just me?

  • @chrisz71 That's the clock used by TV-am, which used to be a tv station in the UK, so I'm guessing the clip is a recording of one of their broadcasts.

  • @chrisz71 Actually I've just had a look, there's a video called "MAX HEADROOM ON TVam" elsewhere on Youtube, it must be taken from that!

  • What the fuck I just watched?

  • The orignator of YTp

  • I used to genuinely think, at the time, that this was completely computer generated

  • HOLY CRAP! it's Larry O'Donnell of msnbc.

  • Why was this ever bearable?

  • how dare you edit it

  • I just figured out that Max is a fucking Canadian . They are fucking everywhere, something must be done. There are almost a million of them up there and they are breeding like flipping rabbits.

  • @nsofast WTF is wrong with you? Canadians breeding like rabbits? Wow, you need an attitude adjustment - maybe in a back alley? I'd be glad to oblige.

  • @Hermione4 This is exactly the problem with you canadians, all you ever think about is sex, I am not hooking up with a stranger in a back alley way. That would never even occur to a proper person. Cool your jets sugar tits.

  • @nsofast I love watching assholes embarrass themselves, it's hilarious. Btw, no one would fuck you anywhere, pencil dick :) I'll leave you to your burger and fries and lonely masturbation.

  • @Foxclass I never eat fast food

  • @nsofast I'm not Canadian. but thanks for calling me sugar tits - they are sweet!

  • @Hermione4 Just a technical question, is 'breeding like rabbits' anything like 'doggy style'?

  • He was sooo friggin DEMONIC - & still is

  • MAX HEADLAMP!

  • Is it any coincidence that max with the sunglasses on, looks kinda like Duke Nukem??

  • @glitchfinder50401 I got balls of steel oh by the way catch the wave!

  • @glitchfinder50401 combined with Jim Carrey lol

  • This is so weird and interesting 0_0

  • This guy is freakin' annoying and weird !!!!!!! -.-

  • Looks like a nazi LOL

  • thats trippy as hell.

  • This man is called Matt Frewer, he was in Lawnmower Man 2. Are you all trying to say this is Jim Carrey or saying that Carrey adopted his character? I think Jim Carrey would have got inspiration from Matt Frewer and many others.

  • you just know that someday someone is going to try and bring Max Headroom back from the dead. and it will start the technological apocalypse with Max Headroom as their leader. All hail Lord Headroom! XD

  • 21 was killed into the matrix , juaaaa

  • Why does Max Headroom creep me out?

  • @dabob720 That's all part of his bizarre charm :D I'm a HUGE fan but I can still find moments here and there creepy - especially when he looks directly into the camera. His eyes are so human (of course, since he was a real actor!), but in an apparently artificial and "robotic"-looking face, and I think that weird contrast spooks a lot of people. Still, occasionally creepy or not (and I'm sure it was deliberate), Max's cancellation will always be one of the greatest losses to satirical TV :(

  • @NellJSmith So are you saying that Matt Frewer dug the uncanny valley himself?

  • @TheGameroomBlitz OK, senile moment here, but "uncanny valley"? Er, what...?! Explain please? :)

  • @NellJSmith It's that point where something looks realistic enough to be unsettling, but not so realistic that it seems normal. Lots of early computer rendering is like this, especially when the characters seem to "snap to" poses or are drawn in a way that makes them seem almost, but not quite, human.

  • @TheGameroomBlitz It's latex and editing, not computer generated anything.

  • Sounds like Jim Carrey? Yeah, because Matt Frewer sort of sounds like Jim Carrey. Before I realized Frewer was Max Headroom from way back in the day, when I saw him more recently on a couple Zack Snyder movies, I thought to myself, "why does this guy remind me a little bit of Jim Carrey?"

  • Wow, I never realised back then that Max Headroom DID sound like Jim Carrey so much. Now that I hear him again, well, no wonder these 2 are compared so much.

  • @MrDonkeydong155 As others have said: it's actually Jim Carrey (well, his earlier comic persona, anyway) who sounds like Max Headroom, since Max came first! Max probably seems strange (and dated!) to today's teens/twenties generation, but those of us who were your age in the 80s, when Max originated, remember him as being REALLY new and different (although done with a real actor - CGI wasn't that good then!). Anyway - I don't wonder Carrey was inspired by Max. More popular than you'd think.

  • @NellJSmith ... Having said that, mind you (ran out of space above!), I happen to think that Jim Carrey's earlier, "wacky", comic performances, although they gained him world fame and earned him millions, are actually way inferior to his far more serious later performances, in, for example, "The Cable Guy" and one of my all-time favourite films, "The Truman Show". Carrey has true talent and is worth FAR more than being remembered as "Ace Ventura". I hope he gets more great roles soon :)

  • For you young'ins: Max was supposed to be a computer simulation of a person, as computers and real robots were somewhat new inventions at this time. His repeating himself at frames and same visual images were supposed to be 'evidence' of this, along with video graphic lines in background. This was way before advanced CGI graphics. In reality he was an actor pretending this. He had a quirky humorous personality and would co-star in tv shows, movies, shorts, commercials and then later the hos

  • @wendym1234 this is a very well put explanation. It's interesting to realise that although computers have come so far in the intervening quarter of a century, robots have not. Maybe, whisper it, they are simple a rather silly, largely unworkable idea. Great for films though...

  • Can someone explain if this is comedy or did Yoko Ono get into television at some point?

  • @paksta BWAHAHA! Ouchie. XD

  • You can't claim copyrights when you compile someone else's copyrighted material.

  • Matt Frewer was Trashcan Man in Stephen King's The Stand

  • wow this is my first time seeing this stuff, nuts

  • This is how Lawrence O'donnell got his big brake!!!!

  • i don't get it

  • I think he sounds and looks a lot like Christopher Titus.

  • The original youtube poop

  • Maximum Headroom rules! The Art of Noise video with him is classic!

  • can we bing him back!!!!

  • Yes, and remember The Mask? Quite similar.

  • Cotton. Cotton. Cotton. wonderful to wear.

  • Max has maked a YTP :D (YouTube Poop's)

  • Thats Matt Frewer he was in honey i shrunk the kids, and tons of other movies dawn of the dead most recently i see him on house and other shows too sometimes and on sci fi channel a lot.

  • Damn that german one blew my mind!

  • the German voice is cool

  • Matt Frewer done a great job as Max Headrooom. Man, just thinking about the 80's makes me feel old. Well any way, he also played Charlie, the White Knight, in Alice a 2009 television mini-series on Syfy. I reckamend watching if you haven't. As well as many others over the years and has done well for himself when it's came to his acting career.

  • I LOVED Max Headroom as a kid. Looking back at this it just goes to show ya how delightfully screwed up my generation is. <3

  • reminds me of Barnie from how i met your mother

  • Terminator Salvation might have redeemed itself if Skynet had been reviled to be Max Headroom.

  • @BubbleGumNipples

fuck it, "revealed" god damn youtube, let me fix my spelling.

  • Tim and Eric ripped Max Headroom's editing style off.

    Fucking hacks.

  • @ZyxthePest thats exactly what i was thinking!!!!!

  • way before its time. max headroom was the future.

  • Also resembles Bill O 'Reilly...

  • Max Headlamp .... love it!

  • Thanks for including the automotive puns. That was a favorite from the sadly short-lived series.

  • Television history is sprinkled with short-lived quality SF series: Star Trek, Firefly, the 80s Twilight Zone, Amazing Stories, and this one.

  • i recognised the guy from "taken" by spielberg. i thought he was fantastic in that role. watching him totally kill it as max headroom is just astounding.

    he's called matt frewer

  • mostly christian balish

  • Jim Carrey blows ass...

  • Hey AndyMerv...you can't copyright shit you didn't create, dumbass! All you did was compile some clips and post them (without permission no doubt) YouTube.

  • Shit!!! I really do think they should bring back this guy as it was at this time!!!he kicked ass!!!!

  • I wonder if anyone has watched this vid, while on something LOL xD

  • @WoodRatGirl It's so fucked up. Like, legitimately terrifying.

  • "HAHAHAHUEHUEHEEHEEEHAHAHEEHEEE"
