It certantly is a change to see them so young, but they were Green Day than and will forever be Green Day and have the same attituedes and thats why I will always love Green Day and they will always be my most favorite band in the whole world. Im 14 and i dnt like Green Day because its 'Cool' i always get told that Green Day are crap but I think there full of it. Green Day's music for me is more than just a catchy beat or a good riff, there songs can relate to you in many ways and they make you feel like you are more than a loser like u may be to other people. I love all there albums except 21st CB that was going a bit out of there range as a punk rock band but from 1039/smoothed out slappy ours 2 American idiot are awesome albums

You have a point about American Idiot, that it lost some of the emotion and power that their older albums had. Yet, without stuff like American Idiot, there would be a hell of a lot less Green Day fans. I found out about Green Day through American Idiot. If I had not found Green Day (when i was 10) i would probably end up to be a macho, Guido asshole. the same would go to a lot of people with out the the stuff that drew people in to becoming Green Day fans.

My fave albums are in this order: Dookie. 39/Smooth (purely for the awesome solos!) Insomniac. American Idiot. Nimrod. kerplunk. Warning. 21st Century Breakdown. 21st CB is last coz...you know there is not enough tracks that you can rock out to. I hope their next album is filled with kick ass guitar solos or fast paced stuff like on Insomniac.

I don't think you can blame American Idiot. Personally I think it's a great album and radio and other media decided the songs were catchy enough to overplay on the radio and mtv channels, but that's not the band's fault. It's nice that more people are exposed to Green Day, but I'll agree that way too many of them claim to like the band simply because it was "cool" to say so.

The drummer is Tre' Cool. Al Sobronte Was the drummer from '87 to '89. And even if it was Al, Neither is left handed. His right is your left, and vice versa.
