I heard that the air-force consultants for Atlantis was upset that an actor portraying an one of their officers had such 'against-regulation' hair so they offered him a ride in a real fighter jet if he cut it and he agreed. But luckily for us Shep!Hair lovers out there, the show-runners wouldn't let him and so the hair stayed :D
Don't worry though. The air-force, realizing it wasn't Joe's fault gave him the ride anyway :D Good guys. Even better HAIR!!!!
