Create a layer, drag it until it's under the layer with lineart, and color on that layer. Because they are on separate layers, the coloring will not really be touching the lineart.

if you look by the layers, there's a drop down that says "normal."

if you click "multiply" you can color and still see the lines.

what program are you using to color exactly? Most photo editing software programs work with layers, so unless your working with something like paint, than all you would have to do is find the new layer button and color on that layer. Just be sure to place it underneath your sketch or lineart.

after you color the base color, you have to lock the layer (see on the video where it says lock with a few icons afterwards? click the one that looks like a checkerboard). Then, when you color on that layer, the color only appears where there was already color to begin with (over the base)

Hey I know this wasn't meant for me but I do have a question. :D It's about lineart with the pen tool, when I use stroke/fill after I've made an outline, it looks like it's just made with brush. Although all the tutorials show that it makes a really smooth and thick line. Could you help me out? xD

well when i click stroke for example, it's a very thin line, and looks like it was just painted with a brush. I also tried changing my brush settings but nothing really changed. (So when the problem first occurred, my brush was set to 1 pixel in size.)

you can either use lots of colors that are very close together (from light blue to dark blue for example)

or you can use a fewer colors and then use the smudge tool to smoothen things up (light blue mid tone dark blue smudge for example)

or then use only a few colors but differ the opacity and color over the same area again to make the color a bit darker (dark blue and different opacity from 15-100% for example)
