@tbrhunter No it's not random at all. It's all structured, believe it or not. Just not like the way a typrical song is structured. What they're doing is combining polyrhythms and rhythomic syncopation with polymeters and rapid key and tempo changes. The result is something that's chaotic, but full of power and raw emotion, a billion times better than any warm up. Open your mind a little when listening to these guys, and you'll see what I mean.

The intelligence it takes to write a piece of music like this is remarkable. I'm not kidding, try composing a 6 minute song with a time signature change every 2-3 bars.

That might be the case. I think Colin, or Mike admitted that You Will Be Reincarnated... was nothing more than a bunch of riffs thrown together. But I do think such songs as Exospacial Psionic Aura, Transient Exuberance, Sensory Amusia, PAINcave etc. are all very well composed, and have lots of thought behind them.

That's just it; they're expressing themselves in a non-traditional way, which is great. What they're playing sounds good to them and has a good rhythm, but when someone like you, who's never heard anything like this before, listens to them, it just sounds like noise. This, Canada, and Alcoholocaust are definitely the bands most listenable songs. Of course, the quality of this video doesn't do it justice.

@tbrhunter No it's not random at all. It's all structured, believe it or not. Just not like the way a typrical song is structured. What they're doing is combining polyrhythms and rhythomic syncopation with polymeters and rapid key and tempo changes. The result is something that's chaotic, but full of power and raw emotion, a billion times better than any warm up. Open your mind a little when listening to these guys, and you'll see what I mean.

That might be the case. I think Colin, or Mike admitted that You Will Be Reincarnated... was nothing more than a bunch of riffs thrown together. But I do think such songs as Exospacial Psionic Aura, Transient Exuberance, Sensory Amusia, PAINcave etc. are all very well composed, and have lots of thought behind them.

This is no music... because music follows a common patron... This is just noise. Noise that is very difficult to play, but noise in the end.

That's just it; they're expressing themselves in a non-traditional way, which is great. What they're playing sounds good to them and has a good rhythm, but when someone like you, who's never heard anything like this before, listens to them, it just sounds like noise. It's like how old people look at bands like Trivium; it's just noise to them. Ever heard of Dillinger Escape Plan? Their older stuff sounded a lot like this and they had a huge following.

haha, i think the people that don't like this band don't get past the first few seconds. as with all prog/tech stuff, you have to listen to the song for a while to soak it all in. i like these dudes, and i'm usually not into this kinda stuff at all. listening to these guys have let me open up my tastes a little. maybe some people should try doing the same rather than defending one certain genre as the best.
