Random question, what's the best way to remove a face up? I've been using rubbing alcohol so far, but I wanted to know if there's a better or alternative way?
I know nothing about BJD's or face-ups, I was linked here by a friend who wanted to show me. You seem to know what you're talking about, and it's verbally pretty easy to follow on each step, but for future videos I sincerely suggest placing the camera so it either shoots over your shoulder or from a top-down perspective (just fix it with cord or something from a lamp or the ceiling), and make sure that lightning doesn't create too much shadow over your work as you show it. Like this, thanks =)
@0humblelulu0 Sorry that i haven't checked this vid to see responses...i'm not being notified when i get responses, so i have to remember to check them all...LOL They are just standard pastels. The same as yours. I hae worn mine down, so i just rub the brush right on them. It works fine. you can always use an exacto knife to gently scratch the surface if you need a heavier pastel layer. :)
@eausavage oops, misread!! My apologies. I just your standard edition prismacolor pencils. Nothing special just the standard kind of Prismacolor pencils. Regular old prismacolor pencils. pretty much the kind that you can get individually at most art supply stores. (most of the 'special' types of prismacolor pencils, only come in packs.
@MirandaTheOnlyPanda lol well, my style is not super 'desirable', as it's more comic book style, as compared to anime/manga style. which isn't too 'kosher' within the community, i find. LOL But i just do what i like :)
Great video! Best place to get Prismacolors (or just about any art supplies) is at dick blick, under a buck apiece! Check the web site. Shipping is reasonable. I've purchased from them a few times and haven't been disappointed yet. :)
@comicbookartistboi Yes it does sound that way, LOL. I thought the same thing when some one recommended it to me. But seeing that you are an artist I really think you should check them out, they have ALOT of stuff and most is anywhere from 30%-70% off of what you'd pay retail. Sorry I sound like a commercial, I just discovered them this year and now I want to tell EVERYONE about them and their great prices. I love your dolls by the way, they are all sooooo very beautiful.
@ErrorObitsuChan Thank you for commenting...as stated in the tutorial video in the beginning, (when describing everything layed out) they are regular prismacolor pencils. Standard prismacolor pencils. :) Thank you! :)
@ErrorObitsuChan They are the best you can use. They are a bit expensive, but rightfully so. IMHO, they are the best of the best, and fully worth 2 dollars a pencil. Not to mention, you can buy them individually, at most hobby/art/craft stores like Micheal's, or Hobby Lobby, or Pearl Crafts. (Pearl is the best for buying them)
@ErrorObitsuChan well, i just posted one about my dolls, Joby, Shandel, Arachne, Sakarra, and Dresden. :) I'm working on a hot-glue sueding tutorial for bjd's now, and also a restringing tutorial later :)
@sunakonakahara222 i'd love to know a cheaper place to buy. I pay right near 2.00 a pencil after tax. (for individual pencils. If you know a cheaper place share! : ) i'm eager to get a deal LOL

Wow great work thanks for this tutorial, don't mean to be nosy but which prismacolor pencils you're using?
As there's many, premier thick core, premier soft core, verithin, scholar, lightfast, watercolor, which one?
And what about the woodless pastels?
Thank you very very much!

@eausavage I just use a basic, pastel, non-oil, cheap pastel. they do not need to be fancy.
