My family and I met him at the 2007 T of C. We were walking out of the casino, and my dad spotted him. He's one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.
I'm a lefty and I dont have any problems with the 10 pin or te 7 pin. the problem is that im too good at spares but suck at strikes. I'm always hitting a Brooklyn.
its so wierd,i met him at the QUBICA International.me and my mom won here at our local tournament, got a free trip to the National Bowling stadium, took first there then went to Baton Rogue Lousiana and bowled there for the QUBICA Finals.we got to meet him and Mike Mchugah and got them both to sign our QUIBCA shirts and our name poster.he isnt very tall, roughly about 5'7,realyl skinny same with mike, but hes a really nice person, and has theres amazing blue eyes.
Haha, first off that wasn't Duke ringing a ten pin, and him throwing the ball at the end wasn't him firing at the ten pin. Also, picking up a ten pin is really easy, if you can't make 9/10 single pins consistently it should be first priority.
I've always had a problem with the 10 pin. I throw with two fingers and I had the Lane 1 Diamond. It worked okay, but I went back to the fundamentals and threw it with three with a Silver Bullet and now I can honestly say I'd hit it 9 out of 10 tries.
At least the 7 pin u can curve it. With the 10pin, if you curve it, it will spin into the gutter or curve just left of the pin. Straight is best... Now I just need to follow my own advice......
I am the same way. I am righty and my percentage of making the 10 pin is higher than the 7 pin. There is still more room for improvement on bot pins for me.
Isn't there a certain board that a bowler should stand on and a board a bowler should roll the ball over on the alley.
I don't understand the 1 o'clock and 7 o'clock
concept. Should your thumb be at the one o'clock position and your fingers at the fingers at the 7 o'clock position. I personally stand left and when I release the ball my thumb comes out of the ball first and then the fingers come out and the ball goes end over end at the 10 pin.
I learned how to do that, when I played bowling I wanted to made that ten pin, but then I finally made that ten pin when I was on my youth league and it felt great.
@hhhfan75 well aren't you good?

@sniped101 its all about the spares man, strikes dont win you anything, spares do.

19 career titles??? what happened to his 32 titles?
basically, duke's showing how to throw straight with a reactive (hooking) ball.

I'd be bowling LOTS of 200 games if I could only pick up the evil 10 pin...

I usually just loft my spare ball out to the third arrow at 10 pins...or I flatten my hand out like Duke does.
Vulture629 3 years ago
I switched to a plastic ball 4 months ago for spares...it took me that long to get it right, now im making at least 95% spares...c.h.

ive picked up the 10 pin with a curve you have to know how much curve and to put on it and where exactly to throw it

i find the 7 pin is harder to pick up, and im a righty...
