@alexeithemaker don´t panic.. no allusion. By the way.. the lyrics are "to that tall skyline I come".. that´s what u do when u arrive in nyc. 9/11 didn´t change anything.
What a great song!!! As I watched these photos, I was hoping to be there with my wife... and now I have our plane tickets... traveling from Chile. NY, see u soon :)
@charliefarlie20 are you insulting Garfunkel? Cool! and so many people liked your comment! congratulations, but it isn't really cool to do that. he isn't a clown, he's a hero, and even if you meant just "good-natured ribbing" by your comment I don't like it. I am not even crazy about this particular tune, though it is pretty good. I am just put off by your comment, and it seems like you have made a figure of fun of someone really cool and important to our increasingly dumbass culture.
@aerkenz i appreciate your vote of confidence. it is a terrific song, and Garfunkel has such a great voice.
i was really pissed at the comment i responded to. we are getting so that we insist that our musical heroes look pretty and/or handsome, and, furthermore, sexy, and i think we care less and less about songwriting as a craft, document of the human story, unique kind of poetry married to melody, and art form. it is worse than just a shame--it is tragic. something great is dying.
@derek4ur Don't panic. I work with 16/ 17 year old kids who are using Youtube and itunes and getting into music. They may not have the education or literature to say it but they are rejecting the X factor disco crap. And a lot are making their own music.
it's like a sentimental extra verse from 'the only living boy in new york' by PS...tuneful but saying nothing....just blind patrotriotism and nostalgia.
The song is written by Benny Gallagher, a Scot, who used to be part of the UK duo Gallagher and Lyle. They have a long history of great songs. Check them out and you will see Gallagher's pedigree as a songwriter and perfomer.
@Mollgreen thanks for the info....it is a great song - sounds a bit naive in the light of recent worthless wars and the banking crisis. the poorest in our society will be paying for the greed and excess of uncontrolled american 'freemarkets' for two generations, at least, but those of us englishmen who appreciate good american literature and music (including paul simon/art/dylan/velvets/NYD/REM/SS) will always love new york - vicariously at least.
Hi RickyD. New York is always going to be in my heart too....that is where I finally got to meet you....don't ever doubt the affect you have on your loyal fans - thanks again for stopping to say hi....love to you and Jane xxxx Aussie Deb xxxxx

miss listening to that bald headed mank twat friend of his with a head like a fucking Halloween Pumpkin --exceptionally for today of course, then it goes back to a mank twated head shaped like a fucking orange !!!
Karl Pilkington has a citrus shaped cranium. And NY is mighty fine. Got lost in central park though. Who knew that could happen!! What does Karl think of new york? Has he been there? Would love to see Karl do a travel show. That would be different. Would probably just end up playing with a beetle in central park and go home again, the round headed cunt.
Another good one Ricky. Hello Karl Pilkington. Always wanted to live in New York...in a multi million dollar condo of course...high rise naturally, with a great view. I'm still short a few quid.
