So for this car to have 1000kW, it would be equivalent to 1333.33hp.

In other words, it's about 334hp short of 1000kW.

At the moment, it is close to 750kW. Still quite an achievement.

@twinturboteen18 haha i'd give anything to get my hands on an e-series or au xr (preferably xr6). I've been brought up on fords so it was inevitable for me to lust after that xr8 ute. Listen to the little voice inside your head mate, turn back to Ford! Mind you, a new TDV8 landcruiser with a big exhaust and twin turbo setup sounds rather intoxicating, or an old celica modified for targa rallies... dammit, Toyota is awesome!

@MrHellyeah2010 im toyota to the core mate they are tough as nails and cheap to get massive power out of relaibley and in my experience very little ever gose wrong with them one of my work mates has 2, 70s corrollas with the orginal engines in them! same with my 84 crown never had a rebuild and its like brand new mechanically, but i wouldnt mind an xr6 or xr8 el ute,something that looks and sounds tough to cruise around in i really do love the shape! and i hate chevs ( holden)

@twinturboteen18 Yeah your not wrong, they just go forever - we just bought a little 1991 2 tonner dyna truck (11B diesel, no turbo - yet) about 2 days ago and we just got it this morning - 400 000 ks on the clock and it seems to run perfectly! I reckon an old crown would be real cool to have - either perfect restoration, or maybe just work the factory 6 (they are a six aren't?) - or (God forbid I hear you say) - a hot 250 crossflow or 265 hemi!

Just like a new car where 300hp @ the wheels is what you get from a 300kw car, that means that it has 300kw's @ the engine. This thing has just enough on it's reading, when you consider that it also suffered from wheel spin, to make a 1000kw call. Rough numbers rear wheel horse power is the same as engine kilowatts.

something's not quite right... look at all the dark smoke coming out of its exhaust when on the dyno (2:51)... compare that to the clean smooth running of the 800rwhp ford xr8 by the same workshop and you'll see how it's meant to be :)

It's not wheelspinning, it's on a DYNO. The smoke is coming out of its exhaust pipe, suggesting a mixture proble.
