The picking technique is above average but there is no dynamic in it , also i notice mostly common alternate picking and common exercise sweeps, there is no interest in the song as usual. From my experience guys like this dint have many chances to give any good song in their career , still he could be a good session guitar player.

There in no practice exercise that can make somebody a composer but its a free world.
