  • is there a 3d file for the spider? I wanna do this in my video, but i dont feel like designing it and then adding joints and everything...

  • the environtment was fake but the robot spider was unbelievably real

  • @TheGAMERBoii like reality.

  • fake

  • @james082157 and gay?

  • @joelsk ROFL XD

  • @joelsk FAKE!!! I could tell that car wasn't real the whole time

  • @redghost105 Best Comment! :D

  • AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

  • you know, i think that when you render the spider, you should make sure you render at the exact frame rate as the camera you recorded it with. though i have hardly any experience with motion tracking, so i might be talking pure shit. just sayin it.

  • @ThatGuyWithHisHat You are pretty much spot on. The Frame rate was out and also the focal depth. That's why it appears to float a little bit.

  • you should get that checked out jk

  • aw man i wish tese we're real toys that u could control from a remote, if it was it would be #1 on my wish list!

  • This isn't greenscreen lol

  • This is animation green screen for real? Damn you did a good job.

  • AWESOME

  • 'copyright' lol. First, you have to have something people want.

  • OMFG KEEP IT AWAY FROM ME

  • Gross!

    Good work though....

  • Tips to improve. at :04 the spider seems to slide, also around :08, not sure if this is a tracking issue or animation. Add some motion blur. Add grain - if there's not. Pixelate robot slightly to match with the quality of the video. Add something else that the spider is interacting with - another spider perhaps. Other than these few things, it looks great.

  • good call slowly walking into the house lol good job

  • well done indeed

  • Its the REGIS Mk. 5!

  • Dumb question. What did you use for the shadow?

  • was that in your back yard?!

  • You did a great job with the animation .

Now , can you build the real thing?

  • What's the matter? upset because you got trolled? deal with it.

  • Nice crab model

  • is this some sort of augmented reality system or does it use green screen?

  • use water

  • If you had an army of those...WOW.

  • it's computer genarated

  • FAKE

  • @SteveRogers0123

Gee, really? I could have sworn it was the real thing.

I mean, it looks genuinely REAL.

Are you sure it's fake? Really? Fake? Are you absolutely positive, I mean the guy says it's CGI in the description, but YOU must know better.

    Moron...

  • @JemmetGK It's fake guy. It's not real, calm down.

  • @SteveRogers0123

    Wow, it a fake then?

Here I was thinking that a new breed of giant spiders was about to take over the world.

Thank you for putting my mind at ease. Yes, I'm much calmer now.

    *rolls eyes*

    Idiot...

  • @JemmetGK HAHAHA I'm trolling. Just look at my channel comemnts. I knew saying "FAKE" would get someone annoyed. LOL I wonder who's the idiot now though? ;D

  • @SteveRogers0123

Well, that's a sad commentary on your pathetic little life then.

And yes, that makes YOU the idiot...

  • @JemmetGK You got trolled. Deal with it.

  • @SteveRogers0123

    Get a life, you looser.

  • fake cgi

  • @robotmad

I sure am glad people like you are on YouTube to pointe out that this is CGI. I mean, I read the description, but I didn't believe it was CGI until YOU pointed that fact out to me.

Thank you soooo much for being sooo diligent and pointing out that it's FAKE CGI. You're mommy must be sooo proud of you because you are sooo observant.

    Moron...

  • sick shit dude

  • woah how'd u edit this

  • That is not a spider, it's an insect. It has 6 limbs. A spider do have 8.

  • Its creepy but still that's fucking badass at the same time. lol

  • Awesome, very well done.

  • hej can u plz tell me how can i animation a spider in 3d max please tell me

  • Shit! I'd be crapping myself!

  • my wife would shit herself as scared of spiders as she is!

  • Obviously CG, but it's still REALLY well done

  • that thing scares the shit out of me

  • @ratboy82 hahahaha Glad I could Scare the shit out of ya! :)

  • motion capture? what, did you surround a tarantula with camera and put orientation spots on him? lol

  • Dang,that was creepy

  • @3piper :P

  • woow

  • Your spider is missing two legs?

  • @AllFractUp Nah, it's a six legged spider ;)

  • @joelsk

*chuckle* They're not missing, it was just born that way, right?

    ;)

  • @joelsk So ... and insect

  • @AllFractUp Lmfao

  • this is the first... animation green screen in real life... that i've seen that properly does shadow

  • @dustymountain Thanks :)

  • @dustymountain Went back and noticed it, you know your right! When it's done correctly you take it for granted, but it really stands out when done improperly. Just goes to show, the best effects sometimes are never spotted.

  • really looks good, maybe you could sink in the feet a little, sharp legs would dig into the grass and help see the scene.

  • hhmmm Thats good thinking. I should try and add some connection to it. I like that idea.

    Thanks ;)

  • DAAAM wrong video!.....btw nice 1

  • thanks :)

  • holy crap! its not just a robot spider, it can also float on solid ground :o

  • Yes its magic. Can also turn water into wine

  • DAMN Right, its pretty COOL!

  • holy crotch crickets ide piss my pants if i saw that outside as i was going to work in the morning. "i'm off to work...holy shit!"

  • i call FAKE!

  • its says its fake in the description..... you read that right?

  • So thats just an effect ?

  • No, its remote controlled

  • Nice try......

  • :D ..

  • OOOk

  • Yeah. Its ok now. we took care of it.

  • It really was a convincing effect. nice.

  • wow, that looked like it was real :D GJ

  • "waaah waah it doesnt have 8 legs its not a spider"

everyone saying that needs to get a life. this is pretty cool

  • :D WIN!!

  • lol good cg work i think o.o lol but still good and wouldent wanna see that in my life :P

  • oh no it is gonna eat the camera lol

  • its a six legged spider . . . .

  • no such thang thats an ant

  • spider

  • only 6 legs not spider sry

  • You get 6 legged spiders sorry your a moron

  • this is the most creative camera tracking ive seen in youtube

  • Thankyou!! :D

  • Very nice.

  • Cheers :)

  • lol. Time to grab the good ol' mossberg with 3''slugs.

  • A what and a what now?

  • if i saw that out side my window i would just die!

  • Why thankyou

  • Holy hell, nice one!

  • Cheers:)

  • fake

  • really??? You think so???

  • "Fake"?

    A logical explanation? I didn't think so.

  • it says it's fake in the description. If you had read that you would now understand why you are Captain Obvious.

  • what a numpty, of course its fake!

  • lol thats quite funny actually. you must be quite clever too do that. i think i have an idea of what u mean by animating it. like did you make all its movements on this program then u made a video just taping anything then you added the animated spider to the video to make it look as if its on the video? lol cool anyway.

  • yes. exacetly like that. ;)

  • can u make a video on how u did it plz

  • there are plenty of motion tracking tutorials on youtube. have a search ;) thats how i learnt

  • nice and creepy, good job!

  • shanks

  • woah cool what program are you using? is it maya?

  • Boujou 3 and 3Ds Max 8.

    Thanks :)

  • That's ALL mechanical?

That's friggin' awesome! And huge... You could definately have some fun with it ;-)

  • hehehe

    its just an animation ;)

  • Wow, just read your info.... It's a killer animation though! Wow! Awesome vid, good work.

  • dude! thats freaking crazy! where can i get one?plz reply

  • lol

    in your imagination

  • looks great ;) - the "hit" movement is bit unrealistic and you could need some sound - but besides that: Great

  • Sound is not my department unfortunately. But ihave found someone to do all my sound now. So future videos will have audio. :)

  • Inspired from the book Fahrenheit 451?

  • nope.

inspired by my own brain goo

  • Hey!

    The Camera-solve is OK.

You should add some motion blur, to make it look more realistic...

Where did you get the spider model??

  • The spider model was made by an associate whom was nice enough to let me use it and animate it.

  • Why does it only have six legs? Add two more, then you'll have a succes.

  • Cos it's a six legged spider.

  • This is great! I'm very impressed.

  • Thankyou Very muchness

  • Aaah! Oh noes! The Replicators are here!

    [Stargate reference]

  • lol

  • Hehehehe

  • I think the shadows could be a little stronger because it kind of floats a little on the ground plane... but still cool!

  • yeah i know what your saying. It actually slides a little bit because the DOF is all wrong.

  • woah! Very nice work man this is amazing!

  • Cheers!

    Thanks buddy!

  • Wow, i kinda thought it was a real robot for a second. That's really well done.

  • thanks Buddy.

    :)

  • post a tutorial. .. how to do that!! cool!

  • there is tutorials on Boujou on Youtube. maybe you should start there??

  • THAT IA COOL=0

  • Thanks for the comment

  • That's really cool. One advice: make sure to use colorcorrection, contrast etc. to really mix the two videos together. But great work, keep it up!

  • Cheers. I didnt know anything about putting filters on when i done this. And i'm actually learning it all now for my current project. Thanks for the tips they are always well recieved.

    cheers

  • Haha nice, im currently doing this for a project in college :P

Got to create our fantasy character we made up on photoshop for a previous project in 3d then put it into some film footage.

    Looks great anyway good work.

  • Thanks Buddy.

Let me know if you need any info or help with your project.

  • Its all good at the moment. Got the character finished but i just need to film some footage then im ready to animate. Thanks

  • wow!

    The animation is very really!

The robo/spider rigging is very nice.

    Congratulation!

  • Thanks for the comments

    I appreciate them.

    Cheers

  • holy shit that tings huge!!! i would have gone outside with a shotgun lmao

  • LOL. I dont think a shotgun would be enough for this sucker. Maybe some industrial strength acid would do the trick though.

  • Is the DOF figured manually?

    (sorry about my english... :))

  • i just used the setting that it figured when it done the auto solve, but i think you can configure it manually.

Its actually a little off if you can notice. i can!

    Thanks for the comment.

  • I envy you now. you're getting too far ahead of me lol. I'll try getting my hands on PFTrack and see how much better that is than boujou....cuz I'm having annoying problems with boujou on this project

  • You can download a demo of it from their website. but it's only a 3 day trial. so before you install it, download all the manuals first. they help alot.

  • Great one, Joelsk. Keep up the good work!! By the way, I use PFtrack, what about Boujou, ¿Is it ok? Good job!

  • Thanks Buddy.

Boujou is okay. a little clunky. But is good for simple scene tracking. BUt i'm now using PFTrack and i find that to be heaps better!! It's the only program i can find that does geometry tracking. Which is what i really need to do what i do.

  • holycrap! that's crazy!

  • hahaha.

Yes. It came out really well. Pity the res is so low here. the full res version looks so much better.

    Thanks!

  • put a little kid in front of the giant spider I want to see how it eats lol

  • it's on the cards mate. Human interaction with some 3D models is something i'm trying to get done so hopefully soon buddy.

  • Damn the low res of YouTube!!!
