Screw Obama he's a war mongering Bankster puppet, and if hes got any Scottish in him I'm ashamed, but there yae go Bush had Scottish in him too, non o them are sweet FA to be proud of.
Your song is going to sound really stupid in a few years when it all goes down.
Poor Buttcrack Obama, polls fell like a flaming zeppelin back in The USA, idiotic decision in Afghanistan, unemployment rising like a tsunami, well at least Ireland loves himLOL
Totally, Must be something in the water, the voted for the Lisbon treaty as well. And as a Scot, if Maobama has any Scottish in him I'm feckin ashamed!
I found that most enlightening. Obama's truly a man of many colours. Just what America and the world desperately needs. Great song, as well, of course!
ta - glad you enjoyed it. All the americans that have seen it seem to like it too, are surprised by it.
Early days, but i already have heard from a black new york cabbie who is playing it for his custmers - good for tips he says, but no why he's doing it!
The only part I didn't like was the suggestion that Republicans are all xenophobic bible-thumping rednecks. I mean like, gee, thanks. Maybe I overplay. But as a McCain supporter I got a lot of flak from people randomly accusing me of racism.
And from that suggestion, it seems like the most important thing Obama had going for him was his many races. That because of this many people would vote for him. That's actually the opposite of magnanimity.
Thank you my fellow free thinker! I know not everyone who voted McCain was some bigoted redneck - but more than a few of them were!. But many decent folks did too, so sorry if I inadvertently offended.
But - and this is the genuine truth I actually wanted to put a shot of McCain with Obama in ( it just would fit) since, despite by own enthusiastic and unwavering support for Barack, I did genuinely admire McCain, not just because of his heroic past but for the Brave and selfless way in which he faced down the rednecks despite all the temptations to go with the flow, perhaps even the electoral flow ( but not in the USA in 2009 - here McCain I think was 100% more astute than the right wingers)
And I am sure genuine also I love when he rebuked ta lady when she labeled Obama an Arab, if I had two votes hed have gotten one of mine for that alone. And not only was Obamas surely the finest acceptance speech ever made by a US President but John McCains the finest ever made by the conceding candidate. And who knows, Obamas may be bettered in my lifetime but I doubt McCains will. It was truly moving, part of the historic night that changed America and with it the world
I didnt think you were that thick. I was just being polite ( unlike you).
But it appears, you are indeed confused, not by my film but by your own bigoted mind
Im glad you hated my film. Maybe it will get it working again . Indeed it got to you so much here we are taking about it early on a Sunday morning - Burns' 250th no less..
Now who does that make look stupid?
And the Bard is with me - and Obama. For fuckin certain
Must visit - check out me new Burns film, justed posted. Play in your pub this Burns day . I'll even get some spanish subtitles added soon - but not today. I'm off for a pint in Rabbies honour. Andf ve have some great pubs here too, many frequented by Rabbie!..
And I,m sure you are not to blame, but if you see W now back homelone star state give him my regards. Indded read him some Burns - there's hope for us all was one of his his key messages
Thanks to everyone who has commented. But I seem to have confused a few of you! I was though almost trying to!....The point I am trying to make in the film is that Obama can be Scottish and Irish...and a lot of things more.
This is my take from Scotland, how I feel as 20th January approaches, how I felt on 4th November as the resuts came in. And I know I was far from alone
And for me, it's not about medieval Scottish bloodlines or for that matter late 19th century Irish ones, or even mid 20th century Kenyan ones. The real heroes and heroines come from everywhere - but more than a few ( ie Rosa Parkes, ne McCauley, Scottish great grandfather!) with some sort of Scottish connection. Maybe that gave Rosa that little bit of extra courgage...
I hope Ive given a few folks from all over though due credit towards the end - i lost count of the nationalities and indeed sadly ran out of music or would have included a few more.
And finally, I should have said to really get this song, you need to watch the original "There no one as Irish as Barack O'bama" - a million YouTube views and counting in it various versions. Find them in the YouTube search or just google it. Good stuff, but I wrote mine as Scotland's polite reply! But it ain't a competition - but if it was views wise at present we are being thumped!
Really enjoyed this! Nice to see our friends from across the pond as interested in Obama as we yanks are! Pray for the guy. I certainly wouldn't want the job.
