  • The problem is the system, not the doctors. If the government steps in, they will just add another level of bureaucracy to an already messed up system. Unless the government fires all the healthcare workers and trains new ones.

  • Yes, that is true. Right now it is so screwed up because of the insurance companies ruling the doctors. Since, I was a RN I am able to talk to them personally. The Doctors can only write for certain drugs first, or the patient gets denied. It is a mess.

  • Our healtcare is being payed by our taxes. Its free for everyone. :D

  • Thanks for commenting. Do you feel healthcare is good in Sweden?

  • Yes. I was operated in summer 2006. The operation was free but every visit at the hospital costs 150kr(23,50 USD) so we just had to pay that. When you are staying at a hospital it costs 80kr/day (12,51 USD). Its not bad at all. Last week, I was at the same hospital where I was operated, to look at the result. We had to drive for about 45 minutes and we got money compensation for the gas. So yes, I feel that our helthcare is good.

  • Wow, that does sound terrific!

  • OMG !Thats pretty bad nursing you received there. Its SCANDALOUS ! And I dont know about the US, but in the UK we can INSIST on being dealt with by a professional phlibotomist who knows what she is doin with needles.

  • Thanks JT! Americans are getting brainwashed that the healthcare in England, isn't that good and the hospitals are very old. So, what? This was a new building and it is the team that matters. Then during a radio show last night, someone said that the Doctors are leaving England and becoming doctors in India. Now, I am really confused. I prefer to talk to someone like you who actually lives there.

  • My god, it really sounds as if you went through a terrible experience. Bad enough that you had to go through it, but it sounds as if the nurses could have cared less. Something needs to be done about healthcare in this country, I've said it before... this story really serves to punctuate that point.

  • Thank you! These nurses were horrible! They really could have cared less. I worked with nurses like this when I had patients in nursing homes on Hospice. They could care less about my one patient dying of lung cancer. They didn't order her meds on time. I had to talk to the Director of Nursing and get everything resolved.

  • OMG it was worse hearing this a SECOND time!

Animals at the zoo get better care. They're valuable...

No horror stories from the dentist today, thank God. I got my 10MG Baclofen.

Cindy, get some rest. You need it :(

  • I feel so much better today. I hate those injections!

  • Ya wanna try ooVoo tonight?

    (I have visitors right now)

  • I'm always up for ooVoo

  • we all have healthcare now...its health insurance people dont have, Im for people having health insurance as long as the government isnt involved. BUT, we all have healthcare now.

  • I think children newborn to age 18 should have universal health care. If people don't have health insurance they're as good as dead.

  • That is so true. They basically wait until they are half dead to go to the ER. If we were proactive, it would save money in the long run. My one Doctor said these HMO's are horrible for him to get money from. He said he would rather be paid money from the government.

  • I understand we all have emergency healthcare now, however, this procedure I had thoracic facet injections are not covered under emergency healthcare. It is only covered under health insurance, in fact, the pain specialist office visit works the same way. The insurance companies are involved which make up their own rules and regulations, however.

  • Of course not. The those who can afford it will get what they want, the ones who cannot, will at least HAVE health care. I went for about 5 years with no health care. I don't that that situation could have been any worse. Oh wait it could have - something bad could have happened to me and I would have been SCREWED.

  • I agree with you. There are many nurses, temp nurses in PA who do not have health insurance. Also, how about in between jobs and there is a ninety day waiting period for your family. I guess we all hope at that point we can afford the Doctor's visit with cash and not have anything serious happen that required ER care.

  • it is an idiot system.

  • damn

  • I saw the doctor today and I explained to him that they should have an IV anyway in case the blood pressure drops. He said, "Are you telling me how to do my job!" I talked to the Administrator earlier who was also an RN and she agreed with me. The doctor said that the RN that tried to start the IV is the best there! That is wrong!

  • madness

  • yes you could be worse and Hi Owen ;) FIRST

  • Sorry, boring subject! Do you feel Sarah that Universal Healthcare would be worse? These nurses made Kathy Bates in Misery look like a Saint.

  • Oh it's fine :O!!@!@! umm yeah well meh
