If you really want to experience Nottinghill carnival, log onto Poisonuk, go to the parties all year and join the band. This is a cute video but misses all the true Trini style of carnival. Nice try though.

I spent that day in Hyde Park at a YT gathering, small but fun :)

Got an overflow from the carnival I think, the park was also crowded in parts. It was also cold and windy.

alot more people nowadays and more violent crime according to my father (who is now in his 50s) Also you used to see many more first generation west indians, but then London as a whole looked very different back in the 70s

Ah....you are lucky you have such an amazing carnival in August...In greece we have Carnival every February and its not that big, except from Patras which is really big
