@man10941 Because suit & tie types heavy into favoritism changed weight classes and acted like previous lifts never happened--this they did because newer lifters could not catch the 1980's performances--Blagoev did a 227.5 also and a 195.5 snatch, best ever composite total in 90 kg class (he was 3.25 inches shorter than Rigert so was able to carry more muscle at 90)

@skirts365 blagoev did 228.5 wr the same day he did 195.5, rybakou's 187kg at 85kg (2007) compares well against blagoevs best and zlatev 183 at 82,5kg, and vardanians 190 at 85,5kg all 80s performances!

It is good to see the old 80s lifters.Low-tech stage,no fancy electronics,the old style lifting suits.The best came in Bulgarian Blue,and the Red and White Soviet colours.
