that's cool i ended up just migrating to my admin account which it worked on, I still don't know why it wouldn't let me access icalbuddy as a standard user but oh well.
I seem to have no permissions accessing the directory icalBuddy installed itself into -> /usr/local/bin/. That way I also have no way of running it, obviously. No clue how this seems to be working for everyone else, but how can I get around this?
@rover5321 Ah sorry, I did find a way to gain access a few days later, but I didn't write it down anywhere (like I usually do in case I have the same problem again). I'll look into it and keep this tab open until I find out.
Hey dude. I just downloaded GeekTool 3.0 and I have a couple queries. First, this version does not appear in my system preference, only as a regular app in the dock. Last, do I need to leave the application open in order to refresh the list on my desktop? Thanks
@campusbyte you should include that to the video with a annotation or something. That is very important. But you are the man!!!!!! Now I have everything I need for my desktop.
my icalbuddy is acting up and when I put the code into the geektool it doesn't work. :(

@Kiliankoe I can't get access either, this is more than frustrating. I can't find anything that explains this issue,

I've done everything you have said on the video but the /usr/local/bin/icalBuddy eventsToday doesn't work. I just get a blank shell.
Any idea?
I think it has something to do with /usr/local/bin

Is this the code to get the to do list to show up on my desktop?
/usr/local/bin/icalBuddy uncompletedTasks | sed -e "s/*/--/" | sed -e "s/!/!!/"
I have to do's in my iCal but they aren't showing up on my desktop.
