That is a good point. I would like to see that, too. But I think conflicts caused by Europeans and those caused by Africans themselves are equally interesting to learn about. No terrible pieces of history should be ignored, whether they are caused by blacks or whites, I think.

I never met Amin, but I met Julius Nyerere, a deeply intelligent & humane man. Some of the selective coverage of Africa is unfair. I learnt Swahili before English, as a small white boy in the bush in nothwestern Tanganyika/Tanzania in the 1950's & 60's. It's the most beautiful language, & hearing it still makes me feel happy. I wrote a book about it, & there's a short video on youtube.

why are the british pretending as if they were not responsible for foisting Idi Amin on the Ugandans, this is the same way they foisted Saddam Hussein on the Iraqis until he refused to take instructions from them, this is the same thing that happened with Amin, he started out as their puppet and then when he refused to keep the ugandan economy open for them to come in and pillage and exploit it they decided to topple him - hypocrisy of the highest order.

That is a good point. I would like to see that, too. But I think conflicts caused by Europeans and those caused by Africans themselves are equally interesting to learn about. No terrible pieces of history should be ignored, whether they are caused by blacks or whites, I think.

Amin gain the name Dada while he was working as prison warden in Kenyan prison. dada meaning sister, he used to refer all women he brought to the warden quarters as " dada yangu" as the way to conceal relationships because the only female you were allowed to bring to the quarters was either your mom or your sister so dada was not a British title.
