Its a shame that you chose this particular clip of this dear man of God where he appears to be slightly more influenced by the puritans then the New Testament. I mean no disrespect to him as I believe your video also twists and exagerates what he means in his heart.
@fleebabylon You might be correct but I'm not sure how you are able to understand what was in his "heart." Do not fret Jim, this video is not staying up long, just long enough to show a few friends what Barnard believed about the Lords Day.
No frets friend! There are only three Rolfe Barnard videos on youtube, and the man was full of much wisdom and divine unction. I have been much blessed by this brother and the only thing I can say is the puritanical unhealthy focus on a day seems to be something I disagree with. I have listed to a GREAT number of his sermons, a GREAT number, including this one. That is why I say what was on his heart.
Some (Edwards, Barnard, etc) will say things about forsaking the Lords day and it comes across as law when they really mean that true believers love to gather with other brethren and worship the Lord, not just for a few hours on Sunday morning... but they will misapply the truth they seek to speak and it comes across as unbiblical.
@fleebabylon "one that is strong in faith, and has a greater degree of the knowledge of the Gospel, and of evangelical liberty, knows that the distinction of days, as well as of meats, is taken away ... Christ the true sabbath and rest is come; and therefore, being firmly persuaded there is no more holiness in days than there is in places, has the same regard for one day as another."
@oldsoulify Thank you for the quote and God bless you friend. I was thinking about making a Barnard video (he tells about about a Jewish women in the 60's who had her children taken away for turning to Christ) that is how I found your site anyway. May you find every precious thing in Christ and take comfort in His rest.
thank you for allowing us to here some of the great message from the man of God

@fleebabylon I'll work on a Don Fortner video just to clear up any misunderstandings.
