I disagree with you on the story, I think it's the most deepest game I've ever played, one reason is that Saturos and Menardi were actually trying to save the world. So basically you were playing as the antagonist in the first game.
My Brother gave me the first game when I was 7 and I got really good at it and got to the part when the people turn into trees and it gave me nightmares so I gave it away.......... I'm getting it again though.
I bought golden sun the lost age without knowing it was a sequel. They could at least name it Golden Sun 2 - the lost age. With the long intro i still got a clear view of the past events. but still..
I LOOOOOOOVE Golden Sun and The Lost Age. You gave a fair review of them :D
I have to agree about the amount of text, but then again these were GBA titles, and text is to be expected.
The only real complaint I had about both the games were the length. I finished both with a combined time of 60 hours, which is the playtime usually for one RPG. However, having both games to play I can pick up TLA right when I finish GS. I even started a new game in GS recently, I love these games so much!
I like Golden Sun, but I'm fuckin sick and tired of that last boss. I wouldn't mind fighting them, but theres a 5 minute barrage of dialogue beforehand and I just can't stand it. Also, the game kinda punishes you if you don't find all the djinn, and they're hard to find unless you don't have a strategy guide, which is kinda unfair.
@vivalastupidity in the first golden sun they were pretty easy to find, but in the second one I totally agree. So much areas to explore that finding a Djinn is such a pain
in what version of the game ae they called "Djinni"?!?! i bouth the europe(cause i live in europe) and downloaded the USA to play oon my PC and in both the games they are called "Djinn" NO i AT THE END!!!!!
This looks like good game. I am not a die-hard fan of RPGs, but I do enjoy them. Especially the "older" ones. I will definitely give a shot to this one.
The lack of an auto target really turns me off because there are times where I just want to hack my way through random battles. Granted, I do love a good boss fight that requires a good amount of strategy, and the fact that the game doesn't really seem to punish you for putting all of one elemental djinni with the respective elemental character is nice for people like me who could care less about sorting out who gets what. I'll give it a shot, but I'm taking the game for what it's worth.
Wow this game is really intense. Hopefully I'll have a chance to try it when they remake it for the DS. But again I heard quite a bit of good things about this series. Didn't know it was by the same folks that did 'Beyond the Beyond'.

exactly!! if its a boss or mini boss i can live without auto target,
but when theres a random encounter system i wanna be able to get through it without any extra button pressing
