Can someone give directions to the Lilly? and also anyone know how to get to the A-hole in girardville? I found this website with all these awesome swimming holes near shamokin. I have no clue where most of them are :(
@Amy1981D - There is on beer distributor in girardville, its at the end of main street heading towards frackville. big yellow building. Well if you park your car across from there in the only open lot you see maybe like 20ft up.
the walk up there, you will find railroad tracks. just walk past them 30 ft. looking forward do you see how it looks like something is missing cuz the treeline stops. that is the A-hole B-hole. dont swim in the b
@Amy1981D I have bad news. I used to swim and cliff dive in the Lilly in high school (late 90s). I literally went there YESTERDAY to show it to my girlfriend and it no longer exists. Call it a victim of the Schuylkill County windmill project. The access road is blocked off, so you'd have to walk much farther than you used to and when you get there, you'll find that it's been filled except for one tiny area that has no cliffs.
@gdubs32 That really sucks!!!!!!!! Go check out the caves!! OMG I just saw a picture of that place and I will definitely be checking it out. It is so crystal clear. The last time I was there was years ago and it was all scummy and gross. But it looks pretty good again. :)
@LukeWhitaker Come into Shamokin. Go all the way up Market street bear to the right this will put you on Bear Valley Ave. Take that all the way to the end. It will hit a dirt road (this is known as the third patch) You go up the dirt road and it starts to bear right. DO NOT bear right. The caves entrance are right there were it starts to bear right. The entrance is on the left. People usually park their cars right there and walk back.
Love it! I should show you where the Crystal Blue is at to go swimming....it's an old stripping pit in the patch. Place is awesome...water's turquoise blue..few hundred feet deep. Used to cliff-dive into it back in high school.
@LukeWhitaker Never looked for it on Google Maps.....I DID find it on Google Earth though...you can how turquoise the water is on it....I'll copy the coordinates and send 'em to ya!
