I remember seeing a featurette once where M. Night Shyamalan said that he discovered Avatar after he and his children sat down to watch it on DVD, and how by the end of the night, they had sat through the entire first season. Honestly, if he was such the fan he claimed to be, he would've at the least, gone back to film school to better his craft before making that piece of shit adaptation. That film wasn't made by someone who loved Avatar. It was made by someone who hated it. FACT: he is a HACK.

God the movie adaptation was so bad. Talk about wooden acting and poor dialogue, even on the part of the kids who played as Sokka and Zuko, who at least tried to act. The bending didn't feel natural and looked terrible. They made the chessy dialogue and wooden acting of the Star Wars prequels look like oscar material, whose only real saving grace was the special effects.
And don't even get me started on the crime that was the film's version of Appa and Momo....

(In most of the sibling fights, I've seen, it's the good YOUNGER brother vs. the evil OLDER brother.) On another note, this soundtrack heavily implies this may be the last Agni-Kai EVER. On another note, I hope M&B let Azula find SOME peace with herself. (I think we've all felt a bit damaged in our lives; maybe not as bad as Azula.)
@worldends08 Very true. You really do have to kind of feel bad for Azula towards the end there. I mean, she and Zuko really do have a lot in common. She just wanted her dad's approval. Zuko probably understands her better than anyone else. Unfortunately she was willing to go a lot farther and compromise a lot more morals than Zuko to do so (although he's not entirely innocent either). The way her mind sort of deteriorated towards the end. :(

I honestly think that the writers just realized that Katara wasn't important to the plot at all except as Aang's girlfriend. So having nowhere else to put her, they dumped her in Zuko's battle.
ok my brothers and I watch this all the time and I need another opinion on it. Does anyone think that Katara was a RETARD during this battle? She had a good 3 or 4 seconds to get out of the way. I mean Zuko had time to run all the way over to take the lightning bolt for her while she just STOOD THERE. It really bothered me.
Well that part of the fight was in slow motion so I think that Katara had closer to one second to jump out of the way. I'm not as sure if Katara would have avoided the lighting on time. Anyway, Zuko is my favorite character and I thing that leaping in front of the lightning and saving Katara made his character so much cooler. This music in my opinion really displays how much power there was behind Zuko's and Azula's fight. How Azula was to arrogant (and a bitch for that matter) to ever give in and accept that Zuko had finally begun to surpass her. As well as the fact that Azula was beginning to descend deeper and deeper into madness and crazed paranoia. While Zuko has begun to humble himself and find his way again. To trust in his friends and learn to have help when he needs it. Showing how Zuko truly surpassed Azula
The music is so epic. When i watched the 3rd nd 4th part of sozin's comet, i was like all torn up at the azula / zuko moments, and when Aang appeared in the screen, i was like: psh, go away aang, youre not important! :D:D wheres Zuko?! >;o

Y'know...after watching Sozin's Comet for the hundredth time, I noticed that the music during Zuko and Azula's Agni-Kai was emotional and epic, while Aang and Ozai's fight was scary and epic. Just sayin'.
I definitely think this final fight was the most epic. Aang's fight with the firelord was great in the latter part but I think at the start there was too much running and chasing, first from Aang then from Ozai after Aang went into avatar state. And the music is amazing!
The music really set the mood for this climactic showdown !!!
Zuko won hands down, he would of finished azula with the lightning reflection if Azula shot it at him. Great series wish it would of gone a little longer
This song is definately one of my favorite one-time songs in any series. The strings and taiko drums perfectly capture the intensity, the passion, and the tragedy of the Zuko and Azula's bitter rivalry. It was beautifully cinematic how they interposed the footage of the fight with the music. The only thing that would have made this whole experience more moving is if Zuko had officially defeated Azula and he had to kill her, though I understand why Nickelodeon didn't have that.
I loved this song too. But I feel that the original Agni Kai music was better. More intense. But for this certain scene, it was perfect. I love them both equally though. <3

Really I think the finale had the best music in the entire series. It went perfectly with everything (which is why I hate alot of the fanvids that use other music as it takes away the effect).
And being free of his burden didn't mean anything to him. He saw the chance to regain his honor and took it. Attacking Azula meant going against his father and losing his "honor", which to him, was the worse choice than living free.
Just input for Zuko; I can understand why Zuko chose to fight Aang instead of Azula in the 2nd season finale. If Zuko would've done it, it wouldn't be for Iroh or because its the right thing to do. Whether he changed or not, his Father was still his prime motivation for the things he did. He didn't realize his Father was a horrible monster yet, so he saw no reason that helping the avatar would've been the right thing to do.
I honestly like Zuko the best. Everything about him is just my favorite. The whole time I watched all the episodes I kept a special eye out for scenes with him. I didn't care what happened to Katara or even Aang for that matter. I just wanted to know what would happen to Zuko
@jl4562a He became my favorite character eventually. He really became my favorite at Book 3, Chapter 11 because he stood up to his bastard of a dad and joined Team Avatar.

kill Ozai...but considering that this was made for Nick it was stupid to think

It wasn't too overly complicated and it makes Aang that much more powerful because he doesn't have to resort to killing Ozai like others would. Also it leaves Aang as being the unquestionable hero. Technically, Katara didn't get in the way. Azula broke the rules of the Agni Kai by firing her lightning at Katara instead of Zuko, to which he jumped in front of to protect her. It was Azula who brought Katara into the fight.
yea but did you see how she just ran right out there? Like why would she be there in the middle of a fight where fire is shooting everywhere? If she didnt make herself so open it could have been an even better fight
the first few times i watched this fight scene i cried, just to see such power used in such a way. A brother and a sister fighting in the last battle one of them will ever be in. This is the most artistic and poetic fight scene ever made in my opinion.
This was my favorite part in all of Avatar when they were fighting to this music it was better then any fight sequence in any anime I have ever seen, sad, beautiful, and awesome all at the same time!

Y'know...after watching Sozin's Comet for the hundredth time, I noticed that the music during Zuko and Azula's Agni-Kai was emotional and epic, while Aang and Ozai's fight was scary and epic. Just sayin'.

I definitely think this final fight was the most epic. Aang's fight with the firelord was great in the latter part but I think at the start there was too much running and chasing, first from Aang then from Ozai after Aang went into avatar state. And the music is amazing!

This song is definately one of my favorite one-time songs in any series. The strings and taiko drums perfectly capture the intensity, the passion, and the tragedy of the Zuko and Azula's bitter rivalry. It was beautifully cinematic how they interposed the footage of the fight with the music. The only thing that would have made this whole experience more moving is if Zuko had officially defeated Azula and he had to kill her, though I understand why Nickelodeon didn't have that.

A: Firebenders need HEAT not fire to firebend, we saw that without the sun, they're powerless. B: What about lightning? How's that gonna work out? C: fire rules

Really I think the finale had the best music in the entire series. It went perfectly with everything (which is why I hate alot of the fanvids that use other music as it takes away the effect).

And being free of his burden didn't mean anything to him. He saw the chance to regain his honor and took it. Attacking Azula meant going against his father and losing his "honor", which to him, was the worse choice than living free.

Just input for Zuko; I can understand why Zuko chose to fight Aang instead of Azula in the 2nd season finale. If Zuko would've done it, it wouldn't be for Iroh or because its the right thing to do. Whether he changed or not, his Father was still his prime motivation for the things he did. He didn't realize his Father was a horrible monster yet, so he saw no reason that helping the avatar would've been the right thing to do.

I honestly like Zuko the best. Everything about him is just my favorite. The whole time I watched all the episodes I kept a special eye out for scenes with him. I didn't care what happened to Katara or even Aang for that matter. I just wanted to know what would happen to Zuko

I don't know what the rest of you are talking about but Aang vs Ozai was a beast of a fight. Pure win.
Zuko and Katara vs Azula was much more dramatic and actually kind of sad in a way.
It was very visually appealing and felt more
like an deadly dance than a fatal fight.
Both fights were epic and exceeded my expectations.

more forced because it has to continue the series.

That's why Avatar is infinitely better than all the other crap that passes for quality cartoons these days.

@Avohkiimaster105 While season 3 had a few "filler-ish" episodes like the Beach episode...the episode at least had a lot of character development so while it was just stalling for time it wasn't boring. Then the final episode definitely made it all worth while. Aang vs Ozai and Zuko vs Azula are two of the best animated fights in the medium. Some may think it was stupid that Aang didn't
kill Ozai...but considering that this was made for Nick it was stupid to think
that he would....

It wasn't too overly complicated and it makes Aang that much more powerful because he doesn't have to resort to killing Ozai like others would. Also it leaves Aang as being the unquestionable hero. Also it allows for Zuko to later ask where his mom is...and by not answering that question it leaves room for discussion.

Yeah, this was way better than Aang vs. Ozai. I was surprisingly disappointed that Aang's final fight diverged so much from the whole 'martial arts' thang. It was basically him shooting stuff at Ozai. Meh...

Technically, Katara didn't get in the way. Azula broke the rules of the Agni Kai by firing her lightning at Katara instead of Zuko, to which he jumped in front of to protect her. It was Azula who brought Katara into the fight.

the first few times i watched this fight scene i cried, just to see such power used in such a way. A brother and a sister fighting in the last battle one of them will ever be in. This is the most artistic and poetic fight scene ever made in my opinion.
