Well Cindy, as an English gentleman and tea drinker of 56 years, I use a china tea pot, pre warmed of course, tea leaves (not bags). Boiling water.

Brew for 2 to 4 mins depending on taste and pour through fine strainer into thin fine bone china teacup. Add milk and sugar to taste (if you really must).

to get a "perfict" cup of tea first use loose tea leaves!! tea bags are horrable. and when using loose leaves do not use those mettal thingys to put the leaves in (or plastic ons) it's exactly the same as a bag. as for the water try using reverse ozmosis water and if you use it you actualy can re-boil it and if your tea gets cold you can nuke it in the micro wave and it's really good

one more thing you should try for boiling the water is an electric tea ketal (part 1)

This is not entirely correct. Boiling it longer is essential if your water is very hard. So even if you're making green or jasmin, you first boil it, then let it cool down to 80 degrees Celsius. This is also how they do it in most Asian nations (to clean the water boiling it is essential).

Tea bag tea is nasty here in the States, so I get my tea from the Chinese supermarkets its loose leaf, top quality and inexpensive, they mostly have green tea, but if you look hard enough u find black tea.
