Nice. I've had my '96 imp for about 10yrs now. Within the first couple of weeks owning it / driving it around to make sure all was stable... I took that bitch down the 10W in Cali and I hit about 156mph and it felt AWESOME. Only did it for a few seconds but it was still worth it. Haven't hit that fast ever again, don't even wanna try. Thank GOD he let me do it once.

The L67 powered 04-05 Impalas were faster then the LT1's, and so were the 06+ SS' with the LS4. But in all fairness, we're talking about a 90's car. They weren't bad, just they're not fast.

My '94 (Caprice 'P' engine LT1) was bogging down like yours does initially. Found out in my case, the distributor was 'out'. Got a new one, as I was told the Opti-Spark (sp?) was trash in these. At any rate, it's 6.5 sec 0-60 now, but added a K&N Filter, so who knows if that's why or whatever. Not like most of you who actually know cars! Just wanted a big boat that's fast and hell, it gets 18.8 mpg average. Not bad for a 350 engine!

Is the speedo in METRIC? it seams to climb way to quickly. with a 0-60 time around 8 seconds flat this impalla/caprice or B body can pull a high15 sec quarter mile. But more reralisticly a low 16 due to age and the lag in the high end. new the Impalla ran an average of 15.5 I have seen as low as 15.0 a few times. All stock, stock rubber. OHV and gears give it a impressive launch but weight and emmision restrictions strangle this beast.

I'm looking at your bottom left gauge, that's gas dude. Same instrument panel on the 94, and 95's..

Mine was an LS, but it had a motor swap to an LT1, as originally it was a L99 4.3 V8..

Your gas gauge moves a tiny bit, a hair, in the video. Mine does it too during hard acceleration, fuel pump building up the pressure..

well, addition to 1978mtb's comment, all the 5.7L on 94-96 GM B-body are LT1, which includes Caprice/Stationwagon, Buick Roadmaster and Cadillac Fleetwood. 4.3L is called L99, though looks same as LT1. Difference between Corvette LT1 and Impala LT1 are material of block/heads(all aluminum for Vette, cast iron for Impala) and mild-cam(that lifts valves less on Impala LT1, low power but good mpg). I own 95 as well and cannot get enough of it :) Only problem is GM plastics, ya all know...

gm started using the LT1 version of the small block in 1992 in the corvettes then in the camaro/firebird in 93 then in impala ss and the caprice as an option in 94-96 the standard caprice in 94-96 had the 4.3 v8 which is Lt1 based.

that's a caprice! 94-96 impala ss didn't use the digital speedo.That probably has the 200 horsepower (LT1 based) 4.3 v8 under the hood that chevy only used in the caprices those couple of years.Unless it's an old caprice cop car though!
