  • Really nice job. Getting my first amp and this pedal this week :D nice taste in music.

  • *comment that isn't a reply to somebody*

  • @TheDilligan "replying to a comment that isn't a reply to somebody"

  • is this a pre-school child playing?

  • @071785alice yes, he's just big for his age, don't be too hard on him, he's trying his best and is only a beginner ;p

  • @TonysMusicRoom I'm more of a "beginner" than you are. Just got my Zoom G1 today. Have to get an AC adapter and the leads to my guitar. I seriously just bought my first electric guitar a few days ago. I played acoustic up until now and have no idea what i'm doing with with equipment and effects haha. nice video.

  • How did you connect it to the PC, mate? (need the info to start making some guitar cover fast :D )

  • @ItSoundsLikeMeProd , I wrote it right in the video info my man, "Zoom G1 multi-effects pedal plugged straight into my laptop mic/line-in plug (using a 1/4" to 1/8" stereo jack converter)"

  • @TonysMusicRoom hey dude please tell me the settings for the blues lead sound at the end or give me a link or something nice playing and i plan on buying a douglas black! witha zoom g2.1u

  • @SuperAnnas123 check hxxp://guitarpatches.haax.se and click the pedal and search the song you want

  • @TonysMusicRoom nice to see your not what i expected most people with your talent dont even bother to reply to comments and thats why they dont get respect lol so thanks for the answer as i plan on getting a guitar for studio purposes. it sounds really good! for $130 how could you not like this!

  • @SuperAnnas123 oh and the song is "Still Got The Blues" by Gary Moore

  • @ItSoundsLikeMeProd , I wrote it right in the video info my man, "Zoom G1 multi-effects pedal plugged straight into my laptop mic/line-in plug (using a 1/4" to 1/8" stereo jack converter)"

  • BLACKBIRD :D

  • @LucyInTheSkyWitDim great song if you can play it well...unlike me, uhhh haven't watched this video in a while, terrible playing...lol

  • @TonysMusicRoom lol, you sure do play a LOT better than I do (:

  • thanks ALOT :D this was great help

  • Does anyone no if there is a pedal which comes with this?

  • @Walldemart the Zoom G1 is a pedal...the Zoom G1X though has a expression pedal to control wah wah, volume, drive, delay, reverb, etc.

  • @TonysMusicRoom Hey , does Zoom g1n have sustain , chorus and distortion ?

  • @speedview725 yes it does

  • Hey can you shut the amp sims off and just use the effects.

  • @bugera1960 well the distortion pedals and amp sims are together on one section which you can turn off if you want to use the modulation, delay and reverbs, which are each separate so you can turn each on and off separately too

  • @TonysMusicRoom oh there is also a comp/efx section that has the compressor, booster, tremolo, phaser, etc. effects and a noise reduction/cabinet sim section...so it's very customizable being able to turn on and off each section as you choose

  • this sound is amazing

  • cant wait to get this for meh b-day.nice playing by the way.

  • is this standered tuning??

  • @nathanswierd2 yes it is, standard EADGBE tuning

  • Great job. Lots of fun.

  • CooL )

  • can you send me the patch for the EAGLES leadd patch i have the g1u we have the same knobs

  • hahaha you suck by playing with the hands

  • @sk8man182 i regret that, you suck playing guitar

  • @sk8man182 hahaha, you suck at life :p

and thank you for spending the time to post 3 comments in the span of about 14 minutes with your regrettably poor English skills

  • haha you suck with the hands

  • do u like the Douglas Shadow ?

  • nice video xD

  • i have a douglas shadow pro and it goes out of tune every week, does yours?

  • @Guitarded1231 I don't play a whole lot but I have found that my Shadow stays in tune very well, no complaints...

  • @openmindedproduction the bolts were stripped in the input thingy and the strap thingy

  • Very nice Demo dude. I'd say you just didn't fit the right patches in the right song tones, but you showed ppl what the pedal is all about. Good work.

  • almost got freebird going there in the begining

  • hey is the first riff u played is estoy en tu precensia? its G E C D?

  • thanks for sharing this! LOVE the rondo guitars! :-) just can't decide right now which to get ... ;-)

  • I really like the acoustic simulation, It sounds really good and makes it to where you can get the best out of both words with your electric guitar :)

  • @TheCrudgenator

use the G1, the amp should usually be on clean (no distortion) and the treble, bass, etc. should be around mid but I may adjust slightly depending on the patch.

  • @openmindedproduction

One more thing to remember, aside from the EQs, watch your gain,... The G1's treble seems to get boosted with the rise of the amp's gain. I've learned it the hard way. :)

  • @TheCrudgenator

for this video I did not use an amp, the G1 is connected straight into the line-in on my computer. When I do hook it up to my amp though I keep everything at about 12 o'clock or so (mid level) and then adjust accordingly when I'm in the mood.

  • go to zoom.com and get the manual for free

  • Whats the action like on this guitar? Did you have to do any fretwork to get the action low with little to no buzz?

  • @Sitius0

the action is great...I set it up myself pretty low and there is no fret buzz. Though, when I got it shipped some of the fret edges were a bit sharp at the ends and I hand to sand them down slightly so I wouldn't cut myself, which was the only minor defect I found with the guitar. Overall and excellent value, and for the price, there's no other guitar I know that can beat it...

  • sounds like your playing 3 doors down

  • the acoustic effect on your pedal is pretty good, i mean for being a digital pedal and all.

  • Oh Yeah, You are awesome!!1 xDDD

  • man...what is your bass, mid, treble set to? please?

  • i like the clean..it makes it sound like acoustic..lol

  • lol you need to work on ur blackbird.

  • is that guitar good for heavy metal and hard rock

  • How much did the Zoom G1 multi-effects pedal cost you? And where did you get it?

  • @xXxFallen12AngelxXx I bought it used along with an amp and another pedal. I ended up selling the amp for profit; so technically I got the Zoom G1 for free but I've seen this pedal and the G2 for sale used anywhere between 20-50 bucks. Brand new they are about 50 or so? Though, for all musical items I say check your local Craigslist or Kijiji because you can get some great deals there. - Tony

  • are you sure about your black bird? what the f*ck..?! awesome wrong men!

  • @cDekKk yeah I know, it wasn't good...the notes are there but I believe I just did them very badly, lol... "awesome wrong men"? haha, should be awesome fail man or something like that no? I just type what the fuck...why censor yourself on the internet?

and again people, I'm not trying to pass myself off as an expert guitar player here...I'm a beginner just giving people a taste of what the guitar and the pedal sounds like

  • SUA GUITARRA É MTOO FODA CARA MAIS VC é UM LIXÃO PIOR QUE O CHIMBINHA MUITO PIOR --" merda DESISTA DE SUA GUITARRA A UMA PESSOA QUE MEREÇA --"

  • anyone care to translate this in English for me? I'm pretty sure "merda" = shit, so yeah... :p

  • @lucascal1 A brazucada não perdoa mesmo. o/

  • 3:50 not the best song for that kind of distorsion

  • he's really not that bad, he just didn't set up the settings very well for certain songs, and i play some of them differently. but all in all he's not that bad.

  • You "care so much" at the point we're still having this conversation...

  • Tony cannot reply back because he just blew his brains out in a drunken depressive rage...

You drove him to suicide you fucking bastard!!!

  • Deal with it.

  • AAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I'm laughing at you but really I'm just crying inside. I'm going to go drink a fifth of vodka and stick a gun in my mouth now...I hope you're happy because your comments really hurt my psyche. I care so much how you think of me stranger.

  • You're awful, brother!

    Você é péssimo, brou!

  • wow, thanks for the constructive criticism brother!

and having it in bother English and Portuguese just makes it so much sweeter...

  • afff... isso mostra que qualquer pedal na mão dum cara que num toca nada, é uma merda...

  • does this guitar stay in tune well

  • yes, stays in tune very well

  • Oh yeah - don't listen to these other schmucks.your playing is fine.

  • How do you like this Douglas guitar? I was at the website and they have one for $69.99. It says they use solid wood for the body and not plywood. How is the action? I have been thinking about getting one just to plunk around on. I already have five guitars including an Epi Goth Les Paul, ESP EC400 Les Paul, Jay Turser J220 LP, Washburn Paul Stanley Signature series and a Hondo 781 Deluxe Exlporer copy.

  • Note - I'm the dude in the video just using my main account to reply

Anyhow, if you really want a Pink LP than 70 bucks is a steal for the guitar. It's solid wood with nice action. I had a few sharp frets on mine that I had to file down but other than that I love my guitar. But considering you already have 3 other LP copies, this one probably isn't going to be much different than the ones you already have.

  • I would suggest to play something else rather than these boring, noobie chords.... Bad tutorial, didnt show one which pickup played, just chords

  • well for one, I am a noobie so that's not really a insulting to me. Secondly, this is not meant to be a tutorial, it's a DEMO, which is clearly stated in the title of this video and

"didnt show one which pickup played"

WTF is that suppose to mean? My annotations clearly state which pickups I'm using and also what songs and effects I'm using in the vid.

  • Lookie there...it's a pick-up selector switch! Maybe you should quit bitching and make like Batman and, "Look into it."

  • Pardon me chipping my 2 pence. A couple of mates asked me what guitar they should get to start off. I said to get something you can afford, make sure you try many guitars before deciding but most important; your guitar should make you want to pick it up, play it and not put it in a cupboard. HTH

  • At first I thought it´d be a crap, but as I was watching I realized you do it good. Also have a g1 and a cheap guitar (squier strat sunburst) and what really matters is the way you play. Good job. :)

  • thanks man, I'm still just a beginner player so it's encouraging to hear nice comments like this :)

  • @TonysMusicRoom dude good job like the playing. question: hows the guitar? saw it on rondo and love the color?style. good buy?

  • @xxGNR12xx this is Tony but replying on my main account...anyhow this guitar is great and probably the best buy in it's price range. I'd compare it to guitars twice it's price so I totally recommend it. Mine wasn't perfect though, there were some sharp fret ends that I had to file down a bit, a slight imperfection in the paint (only noticeable if you look very closely though), and the bridge and pickups aren't the greatest of quality but can't really complain at this price.

  • @openmindedproduction awesome. iv heard it gives that true lp bite. i luv the color! thanks for the respnse.

  • @TonysMusicRoom AS long as you like it is what matters,

  • @andyfersil

Lol, me too. Even though i play keyboard, not guitar. Someday i'll spend some time to learn.

  • @gombie

yeah, that´s something we should do: training. I got a lot of material to study but I keep on postponing it... it´s te only way to improve. I´d also like to learn keabord, you can do a lot of stuff with that!

  • @andyfersil

I think that when you learn to play a instrument, you can play any instrument, but it takes a while to master it. For example, my friend plays guitar, but can easily play a guitar riff on a keyboard. But he sucks at reading notes, more than i do.

  • @gombie

I know the feeling, actually I like reading sheets but I´m a bit lazy, so it takes longer to learn... but even so ever since the begining I like composing songs and lyrics, and little by little you see yourself evolving.

  • im listening to all these cheap guitars, and i cant distinguish cheap for expensive. so ive decided... im going to grab a block of wood and put 6 strings on it. the sound should be worth $3000 or so, and nobody will be harmed overseas making it

  • LMAO!!!

Honestly though, I believe it's the pickups and amplifier that is the most important when it comes to the sound of an electric guitar. The build and materials have more to do with playability. And if you are starting out just get the cheap guitar and work your way up like I am doing. There is no point in getting a really really expensive guitar if you can't play it well.

And there is nothing wrong with just getting a wooden block and making your own guittar...I say go for it!

  • @TonysMusicRoom

You´re dead right dude, you choose a guitar that fits your stile and as you evolve you do your changing (pick ups, strings, etc.) sometimes I wonder if I´d dare to build a guitar for me, I guess I´m about to do it.

  • WTF?

  • @TonysMusicRoom Hello Tony , excuse my poor english , please can you tell me the parameters for the preset that you use in "Still got the Blues" or where can i get it . Thank a lot.

  • @pagerena I got it from this site guitarpatches.haax.se and go to Zoom G1 and search for whatever patch you want...you can find my patches there by searching for "tonysmusicroom"

  • @pagerena oh and this is the video I originally got it from... youtube.com/watch?v=GoT3vddGv1c

Patch level: 80, comp/EFX: C3, Drive: Ld, Gain: 30, Low: -2 mid: 0 high: 5, Amp: Off, modulation: d2/Rate: 11, Delay: P3/time: 45, Reverb: A3/Decay:11 ... was it, thank you for comment e i hope that i help you with seetings, remember i dont use a Amp

  • could you send me a copy of the owners manual?

  • google "Zoom G1 manual"

  • hey, man, that's pretty funny too see it, LOL, cause i used to play the chord progression you were doing at the beggining ( G - Em - C - D) LOL i saw myself some months before wtf hahaha thanks for the demo, i'm thinking about buy me this pedal :)

  • thanks for the comment man

and yeah, this pedal is definitely a great value, especially if you can find one used like I did.

and that chord progression is from the song "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam, one of the first songs I learned acoustic guitar.

  • that chord progression is from "last kiss" by pearl jam

  • Thanks for posting. I've been looking at these Douglas and SX guitars and reading about them a lot lately.

See, I'm one of those guys who will go out and buy cheap guitars that are made from all the right things, and re-work them into masterpieces.

I'd bet that if you tossed in a set of old PAF & Super Distortion PUs, level the frets and straighten the neck (if needed), you'd have one heck of a git-fiddle right there.

    Peace!

  • omg ure fucking awesome man!!!1!!11!!!!1111

  • lol, thanks...but I'm just okay at best :)

  • hey man! awesome review! i just found out about douglas guitars and agile guitars... which are low end guitars with like really good setup and stuff... unbeleiavble prices... i found the website right but idk... can i trust it yo? i saw a rhandy rhoads V for $99.95... thats just fucking unbeliable man.... um hit me up ASAP plz?

  • I bought my guitar you see here on the vid from Rondo and I am completely satisfied with my purchase. You can't beat their prices and I think this guitar is better than the Epi LPs that are almost twice the price. They are far from perfect guitars but they are a great value.

  • when u say far from perfect do u mean like simple thing like paint spills on some parts or like parts coming off... pickups not properly sheilded... wiring... stuff like that. hows the action? is the nut bone... plastic or sumn else... lol im just like really paranoid in buying on yo idk if ima get ripped or sumn... coz like i have been ripped off badly on this guitar i paid about 250US$... i dont live in the us but yeah...

  • it's a plastic nut, the paint on mine has a small flaw but is only noticeable on very close inspection. You can't expect the action to be great when getting a guitar delivered. I set it up myself and have it pretty low. The biggest problem with mine was that a couple of fret edges were sharp and one of them had some excess metal on it but all I had to do was lightly sand it a bit.

  • aaah how about like empty notes? like um.... some frets werent made correctly and d note doesnt come out clearly... fret buzz... not normal fret buzz dat can be easily fixed with the trus rod or the bridge.... any of that ud say? how about neck profile? can u reach the 22nd fret easily?

  • no empty notes, truss rod works fine, I set some relief on it and lowered the bridge pretty low. The neck is slimmer than an Epi LP and has virtually no heal on the bolt on neck, so you can get to the higher frets easier than most other LPs.

  • any Question's you can ask me, been at it for 30+years. no problem....

  • HI Tony

Can you find a 12 string sound or similar and also The Shadows reverb echo sounds 0f the 60's

    Thanks

    Happy new Year

    Ken

  • dude, can you please help me with the equalization of the zoom, cause i have it like a 6months and the equalizations i made for distortion doesnt help me at all, i play death metal and metalcore, and the distortion is not good enough. thanx

  • Can you advise on how to get that Shadows echo reverb sound and also the nearest sound to a 12 string if possibleThanks

  • Are you using anything else but ur guitar and amp?

  • everything is on the vid info at the top right of the page. I just have the guitar, to the G1, straight into the computer mic input.

  • lol, you haven't been playing for too long huh?

Still good tries, you did pretty good on black bird, now that's a hard song.

Good sounds, awesome guitar keep rocking and try your best

  • yeah, I'm still just a beginner. I guess I've improved a bit since i made this vid, but then...not by much, lol

    Thanks for the comment though.

  • sigh, everybody know Les Paul Standards are way above any copy. But for stock pickups, these are pretty decent. You don't by a copy because you think it'll sound better than a paul. You buy a copy because you like the look but don't have the money. Change the pickups and you might have a real beast.

  • your guitar has great tone

    love the g1 too

  • Hey, man, don't be dissing on a man's axe. As long as it works for him, what is the issue?

  • I was hoping to buy a Douglas in a Metallic Red. But i wanted to know does it sound like a Les Paul at all?

  • lol

  • @LuvsMadel

Differance is Douglas $120 EPI LP $400+ with crappy pick ups.

You can get Agile 2000 with better specs then Epi with $200 less!!!

    I got EPI and I prefer my Agile.Better neck,fretwork,pickup

  • good playing very bad audio quality though but is not your fault although u messed up basket case bad and play blitzkrieg bop with only down strokes to sound like johnny

  • yeah of course, but then you are spending about 4 times more for it

  • Ah, the big muff a great distortion pedal. NFG also used that for recording most songs on the album "Catalyst" and Jack white uses that too. Awesome. Also the swollen pickle. Wierd name. but another amazing pedal. in my opinion anyway. I'm still learning about effect options.

  • Rad, I've been debating on getting this pedal for a long time. Well the G1X and I have and epiphone Les paul and a fender strat. I should have alot of fucking fun with this thing.

  • If you like the sounds you can get out of it, then go and buy it. I personally don't like it very much. The models sound just bad for me. Tremolo is artificial... Distortions sound tu fuzzy. Anyway, it's a matter of taste. Nice review man! Really showed some features of the G1.

  • i got a douglas les paul copy, except i got the classic white one!

  • 7:30 what song is that?

  • Recommended?

  • yes, I recommend that you make your own informed decision on any of your future purchases...

  • Lithium got slaughtered.

  • what can I say...I kinda suck :p

  • Right, I figured it out. I was over-complicating my approach. I got it right where I want it now. Thanks. man this thing is the cat's meow.

  • Real nice. Hey do you know how to set the pedal to where you can call up just a few effects instead of having to stomp 48 times to get what you want? I can't figure it out.

  • If this is anything like my G1J, (and by all accounts it is) there should be a "bank-up" button, which lets you switch between effects banks, then you only have to scroll to the specific effect patch you want.

  • google and download the instruction manual...and then read it

    really it's not rocket science

  • wow that nirvanasong got raped ^^ ur blueslick was great,... nice sound effects,.. I'm thinkin of it thanks for the review!

  • 9:15, patch pls.., hehe, thanks..,

  • Interesting...

For the record though, I'm pretty sure you didn't need much of a clean channel for the Bassy part of Seven Nation Army. It's doesn't sound tooo distorted when you use an octave pedal and get it down that low.

Nice covers though, and it gave me a good look at that guitar. I'm thinking about getting it for my Step Brother when he's finally good enough at guitar for Christmas or something

  • zoom g1 have distortion?

  • yes...i think

  • lol, yeah...I don't know. I think I have to watch the video again

  • yes

  • Ok I think I convinced, I want a cheap unit. I think you made up my mind for me.

  • thanks for posting this, my guitar sound almost the same with the same gear, but I'm not happy at all, I just dont like it and this doesnt sound good (to me) I prefer the old school way, I saw some videos here using software that sounds amazing, but.. I dont know what am I missing, I'll play anyway a little with it and maybe I'll get some cool sounds after all :)

  • i'm actualy pretty surprised when i saw this guitar i though it wold sound like crap but its actualy fairly decent

  • To much reverb [2]

  • Thank you for the demo!

  • to much reverb for enter sandman

  • Nice chops and guitar. Sounds great.

  • how well does it stay in tune?

  • very very well

  • g1 or KORG AX-3G or RP50 ??

  • ok thank you i have a second question is it as like thick as a real les paul ?

  • how do you like the shadow?

  • I highly recommend it, check my comments/replies on this video or my other with the Shadow for more details about it.

  • hey i lost the manual for mine can u please tell me how to reset the patches to their original setttings? please answer quickly

  • you can download the manual in PDF format by searching "zoom g1 manual" on google

  • plug it in/turn on while keeping the store button depressed

  • i have a g1 and use it through the mic input. i use audacity to record it but i can't hear my guitar because you have to plug the 1/8 to 1/4 cable into the headphone jack on the g1. do you know how to fix this???
