  • She is my teacher!!! I'm really honored! She is one of the most energatic and unic persons i ever met! Thank you Tiz! You are great teacher as well!

  • Yes, very expressive, sensitive, poignant, lovely voice, interesting and not overdone presentation.

  • Sehr schon indeed, my God there is no theatre or music like this anymore, is there ? can anyone tell me please ? Brilliant, thankyou so much for posting.

  • sehr schön!

  • I love it!

  • As far as the operaic interpretation is correct or not, I would like to refer to Lotte Lenya's statement that Weill never wrote a single song for cabart, and that he loved the classically trained operatic voice. Perhaps this was exactly the way Weill wanted his songs to be rendered

  • There's a really interesting interview to this effect on the back of Teresa Stratas' (hello, iconic) Unknown Kurt Weill.

    Sojat's interpretation is enjoyable.

  • Great voice - I think operatic renditions of popular songs are a great reference point for judging individual voices and versions. And in many cases they show what makes a popular rendition unique. The more, the merrier.

  • Sorry, but this does nothing for me. It is too classically operatic and cannot hold its own against the rawness and passion of true exponents of the genre, such as Lotte Lenya and Gisela May

  • Doesn't it have a Russian-Gypsy-hussaren-touch?

(till approx. 3:10). Served with some sauerkraut?

Sorry, I like it and K. Weill very much! But still...

  • Seems a little forced to me, both in the lower range and in the acting. One of my favorite songs, though.

  • I love this song, but I agree. She sounds very forced. It's a bit much. Ute Lemper does this song the best!

  • Excellent!

  • bring on teresa stratas

  • The best video this month! Ich danke Ihnen herzlich, for so ein schönes song und Sängerin. TKU

  • Where are the tears of yesterday evening? Where is the snow from last year? At the age of 40, where I've been through the mill of it, this song makes so much sense to me. It has to be one of my all-time favourites. And this is a lovely version. Thank you for posting it on YouTube!

  • oops, she messed up the words at the end of the third verse. Her voice is perfect for this kind of music!

  • i love it

  • Splendid...also Teresa Stratas is magnificent (but very different) in this.

  • many thanks to this lady. when was it recorded?

  • Either 1986 or 1992.

  • Since the Logo of RAI (the italian pubcaster) looks like to be the onld one I think it's 1986

  • O I think she is excellent! In Youkali as well.

  • i had doubt first, but she is actually really really good in this song. thanks, especially at the end "wo sind die trannen, von gestern abend"
