I think he was lip-syncing The Way You Make Me Feel, firstly because he didn't have a mic, secondly because he often lip-synced songs with heavy dancing routines.

Man In The Mirror looks live to me, though. Firstly he gets a mic, secondly you can see his throat and veins move in his neck when he sings loud, thirdly because you can see that he doesn't dance a lot when he is singing and that he only dances in parts of the song with no or little vocals.
