Thats true however, since their in their correct positions we still experience problems do we not? It changes the topic of the conversation from the question of God's existence (is he there, yes or no?) to the question of what is the psychology of subject "X" (is there a lack of belief in God, yes or no)?

I think what Slick is missing is that to lack a belief in god you have to have the ability to make the distinction. Basically a rock can not hold or reject a belief so a rock does not lack a belief, but is categorically unable to have a belief. Would we say a rock lacks dexterity? or a rock lacks income? No we would say these are nonsensical questions.
So, Slick complains that they interrupt his his train of speaking. I'd argue that if he didn't want this to happen, he should not put forth questions in the middle of his points, if he doesn't want them immediately answered...and it seems like he bases most of his arguments on false dichotomies, lol...
Matt Slick always sounds SCARED, as if he knows his arguments are really flimpsy (or nonexistent). The statement that there is either a god or there is not is not actually true, and the fact that a proposition can be stated in such a way does not make each alternative equally valid. Matt sticks to the idea that there are only two possibilities, but in fact there could be an infinite number of possibilities. There could be one god, or two gods, or three gods etc. etc. There could be a god who is now dead etc etc. The basic assumption that that there are only two possibilities is not valid.

yeah, but i think his argument speaks more to 'either you were or weren't', and if you can't come up with a third option, you either were, or you weren't. , you can't claim that you were 50 feet tall, and not 50 feet tall. simple. where i think his argument falls down, is in applying this law incorrectly. 50 feet tall is 50 feet tall, and not 50 feet tall is every height other than 50 feet. if i can't give a specific height, it doesn't mean 50 feet is the only option left.

"I lack of belief in God" is a stupid definition of atheism:
Look at the first word: "I". It's not a claim or statement about "God", but a statement about the person. It changes the topic of the conversation from the question of God's existence (is he there, yes or no?) to the question of what is the psychology of subject "X" (is there a lack of belief in God, yes or no)?
The fact that these two guys lack belief in God is completely compatible with God existing, so is irrelevant to the issue.

I think what Slick is missing is that to lack a belief in god you have to have the ability to make the distinction. Basically a rock can not hold or reject a belief so a rock does not lack a belief, but is categorically unable to have a belief. Would we say a rock lacks dexterity? or a rock lacks income? No we would say these are nonsensical questions.

Matt Slick always sounds SCARED, as if he knows his arguments are really flimpsy (or nonexistent). There is the same tone in his voice as a child who is trying to explain why he didn't eat his sister's birthday cake the night before, despite the fact that cake is all over his face, fingers, and hair. He KNOWS no one is going to believe his nonsense, but he's going to struggle to try to get them to believe his nonsense anyway.

There are more than 2 options. Slick frames his entire argument in a manner that is akin to Pascal's Wager. We have many religions that have different origin myths and books. His notion that there is only 2 options is nonsense.

This happens all the time in the real world about other things and the end result is a waste of time. Things need to be done step by step. Step 1 is presented, does the opposition agree? Yes? Ok then go onto Step 2. Otherwise it's one guy talking for 20 minutes and then the opposition goes back to Step 1 and we just wasted 18 minutes of our lives.

The statement that there is either a god or there is not is not actually true, and the fact that a proposition can be stated in such a way does not make each alternative equally valid. Matt sticks to the idea that there are only two possibilities, but in fact there could be an infinite number of possibilities. There could be one god, or two gods, or three gods etc. etc. There could be a god who is now dead etc etc. The basic assumption that that there are only two possibilities is not valid.

yeah, but i think his argument speaks more to 'either you were or weren't', and if you can't come up with a third option, you either were, or you weren't. , you can't claim that you were 50 feet tall, and not 50 feet tall. simple. where i think his argument falls down, is in applying this law incorrectly. 50 feet tall is 50 feet tall, and not 50 feet tall is every height other than 50 feet. if i can't give a specific height, it doesn't mean 50 feet is the only option left.
