homkat, I'm not saying this is the answer, but you can tax wealth (net worth) rather than goods or income. This could be a flat tax that actually redistributes money proportionately (fairly).

While I'm for a totally fair tax, I am for low taxes, small gov, and only being taxed once. (Not from my paycheck, the cash register, capital gains, and gift or estate transfers.) It's all those extra loop holes that are inefficient and represent unequal treatment under the law (one could argue).

Clownie, Not at all actually. I'm saying the graduated tax is unnecessary in the U.S., if we tax "the increase of our gain" equally. It's not communism, capitalism would still have free reign. But, the government funds would be paid proportionately by the profiteer. (Rich people hate the graduated tax system, but this would enrage them far more. At least they'd finally have the fairness they demand.)

Speaking of tax codes...we have to remove the "person hood" of corporations as well.
