  • 5 people? its down to 4 now, i guess 1 disliker got scared

  • 5 people are little girly men

  • Great video it really does help.

  • That bandaid analogy was a trainwreck, but Dave knows too much about powerlifting for it to matter.

  • gr8 instruction , y not do another one with a guy with no injuries!!!!!!

  • Good stuff. I especially like the talk about warm up to help hone technique.

  • Excellent point about number of reps needed to change a motor pattern in relation to improving form.

  • the difference between training for size and for strength is effectively myofibrilar vs sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, and is a result of the different rep ranges used; powerlifters training in the 5RM and below range to increase that 1RM whereas bodybuilders will train in the 6-12 rep range.

  • boi u chat too mush!

  • Why are both of them using caps? Are they hiding the balding from steroids or what? >.<

  • @Cescq13

    "Why are you here?!"

  • Bodybuilding is about muscle pump and a little strenght, powerlifting is about pure power and good pump after some year.

If we refere to doping, also bodybuilders are very strong.....powerlifters get stronger than ever :D

  • @nokia3210fuck @TheExalTeDGuy bodybuilders bench to make their chess look bigger. On top of @titans091052's comment, they try to isolate it as much as possible. With strength training, you do the opposite, which is to use as many muscles as you can. In this way, @gankzorzz's comment is justified. You'll see bodybuilders, lifting their feet onto the bench so it's only the arms.

  • Zero dislikes!

    Just.

  • Is there a difference between healing band aids and band aids

  • Elite - the quality of your videos is astonishing!

How did you manage the narrow "depth of field" ?

Really - I think the all of the world is truly grateful for these astonishing videos! You are really transforming the sport!

  • yeah... a huge difference lol.. bodybuilders will sacrifice form for reps and isoltaion of a certain muscle. when your benching for strength you need to be perfect or you WILL injure yourself

  • @gankzorzz bodybuilders dont EVER sacrifice form for reps....

  • @TheExalTeDGuy they sacrifice strength for size

  • @gankzorzz bodybuilders won't sacrifice form for anything. well other than a better pump like on curls, but not on any chest work. like m5p944 said, they do sacrifice strength for size.

  • Hi Dave !

Is there a difference between benching for bodybuilding and benching for strength?

  • @nokia3210fuck Yeah. To simplify- when training for pure strength you're going lift weight closer to your 1 rep max at a low amount of reps. When training for size you're going to be lifting in the 8-12 rep range. You'll gain size and strength in both lifting methods. It all really depends on what your goals are. Look up the difference between type 1 and type 2 muscles. It'll make more sense if you know about that.

  • @nokia3210fuck Yes,bodybuilding and powerlifting is different thing.

  • @nokia3210fuck Scott Abel has a video about that here in Youtube. He's a douche, but still.

  • great info

  • Any chance there'll be a Part 8 going over benching to "develop the chest?"

  • Comment removed

  • super interesting video.

  • love this vid your work in general.

could you get into some analysis on strength/bodybuilding technique in future vids ?

  • sweet! I have a left shoulder problem too and I use the same closer grip because it doesn't hurt.

In the mean im gonna just do light weight high reps(12) and not lower my elbow below the bench.

Waiting eagerly for part3. Thanks dave!
