  • Light-bulbs filled with mercury (one of the worst toxins on Earth) that give off intense electromagnetic pollution (which is scientifically linked to various negative health effects). Yeah, that's "green" technology, and I'm Santa Claus.

  • This is great. Here in the EU they are pushing these lightbulbs on us and making it difficult to get the old style. Many people including myself are getting headaches from using these cfl ones. This isn't fearmongering, don't call it that unless you've experienced long-term use of these bulbs yourself!

  • Hilarious. If you believe this you're a clueless moron. Dirty electricity LOL. Shame he didn't put his meter near an incandescent triac light dimmer, it would have gone off the scale.

  • The CBC actually let this BS on the air? Irresponsible, fear-mongering garbage. The CBC should at least apologize and present a rational response.

  • This is bunk. While compact fluorescent lamps have serious problems that the green lobby is shoveling under the rug, "dirty electricity" (something we real electrical engineers refer to as radio frequency interference) is not a health hazard. Yes, it will interfere with radio equipment and make the needle/bargraph on the crank's chosen measurement device move, but it will not kill you.

  • No, LED is LED. It uses something like 15% of the power that an incandescent uses.

  • Is LED considered incadescent?
