Jesus has a God and Father. John 20:17,"I am ascending ...to my God and your God." Read 1 Corinthians 11:3,"..the head of the Christ is God." Colossians 1:3,"..God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ..." John 14:28,"The Father is greater than I am." John 1:18,"No man has seen God at any time..." Read 1 John 4:12,"At no time has any one beheld God." Exodus 33:20," No man may see me and yet live." Jesus is firstborn of all creation. Colossians 1:15,"...firstborn of all creation." Prov.8:22
@eternityandforever which means that if Jesus is NOT God, then the second you worship Jesus you break the commandment of Exodus 20:3 " Thou shalt have no other gods before me. " So nomatter WHAT it says in the Bible we know that there is only 1 true God who we must worship. Plus Isaiah 43:10 says there was no other God FORMED before or after God , nor will there ever be. Since this is the case then who is Jesus ? A prophet.
The Witnesses also ONLY belive in one god. Who have you been talking to ?
Someone lacking in accurate knowledge perhaps ?, Jesus is the son of god. THE SON OF god!! Not a GOD. Besides he states that point many times in matthew. May Jehovah draw the humble ones :D
@Ninearm You use very deceptive language here, and I would encourage you to think about what you are saying. In John 1:1, as read from the NWT, it says in black and white that Jesus is a god. So, why do you deny this?
Not only that, but the NWT is not even respected as a valid translation of the original writings. So, why continue using it?
@ThirdNUnion ~ HI,,it's our FAITH in the BLOOD OF JESUS that saves us, not our "works" for a Publishing Company.
***Romans 3:22-25 ~*This Righteousness / SALVATION from God comes through FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST to **ALL** who Believe..**THERE IS NO DISTINCTION**..for ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and we are saved FREELY BY HIS GRACE through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus,, through our **FAITH IN HIS BLOOD**.
@jrichard1977 a while back you challenged me to pinpoint a verse where it states Jesus became the christ, and he was not born a christ,i have grownin knowledge and remembered you when i found many scriptures that clear things up
@Ninearm the New World Translation is as consistent as possible in rendering Hebrew and Greek words into the target language. goes back to that time frame. even though no two languages grammer is the same. they need to assemble the words and sentences in their translation in a way that conforms to the rules of grammar of the target language. that is how the NWT was written, back to the original books. So you see, this one is more accurate than others, but others are still good to use too.
When you get into your Kingdom set one of my son's on your right hand the other son on your left hand. Jesus reply, "This sitting on my right hand or left is not mine to give." Matt 20:21-23
Not even so much as one "proof text" (including the badly translated & misunderstood John 1:1) proves that Jesus is God and that God, Jesus, and the holy spirit are one in some mysterious Godhead. Not one scripture anywhere in the Bible says that all three are the same in substance, power, and eternity. The Bible is consistent in revealing Almighty God, Jehovah, as alone Supreme, Jesus as his created Son, and the holy spirit as God's active force.
@jrichard1977 The Scriptures clearly say about Jehovah God: "Even from time indefinite to time indefinite you are God." Psalm 90:2 He is "the King of eternity" —without beginning or end. 1 Timothy 1:17
Jesus, on the other hand, is "the FIRSTBORN of ALL creation," "the BEGINNING of the creation by God." NOT the beginner of the creation. Colossians 1:13-15; Revelation 3:14
...Who has made all the ends of the earth to rise? What is his NAME and what the NAME of his son?" Proverbs 30:4
@jrichard1977 Jehovah is 'the KING of Eternity' Jesus isn't because he had a begining which I have already given you those scriptures.
Jesus is our 'Eternal Father' in the sense that he is the second or last Adam (a perfect man) and Adam was the Father to all mankind.
The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 1 Cor 15:45; 1 Cor 15:21, 22 Jesus was the first human to be resurrected to eternal life so he becomes a Father to us in that sense.
@darrenrustyp Why would Jesus have to be resurrected to have eternal life when Isaiah 9:6 says he is eternal already?
On Jesus being created, can you tell me from the Bible at which point in time Jesus was created? When was it? What is the passage of scripture that discusses Jesus being created?
Then, contrast that with Heb. 7:3 and Isa. 9:6 which suggest that Jesus had no beginning and is eternal.
@jrichard1977 JESUS surely knew a whole lot about GOD HE sounds like HE was talking about himself to me.Havent we all heard the saying get on my level? Y is that? Thats so that people can have a clear understanding of one onther right? In order for Obama to get certain votes he had to get on another level right? One that john mc cain didnt get on! These are just examples to show you that JESUS is GOD HE just had to get on our level as a human so that we may get a understanding! HIS GLORY
@darrenrustyp Gaining eternal life means your life will never end. This does not apply to our physical bodies, obviously, but it applies to the resurrected body Christ will give to those who have been saved.
The way JWs interpret Col. 1 is unique, I think. It doesn't bear witness to good scholarship or interpretation, so I'm not concerned about it. However, I very much care about you and hope you will consider strongly the possibility that the Watchtower's interpretation is wrong here.
@jrichard1977 In harmony with Gods original purpose, billions of people will be resurrected and will have the opportunity to live on a paradise earth. (Luke 23:43) This promised future includes perfect health and everlasting life for obedient humans. The Bible says: The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.—Psalm 37:29. See also Job 14:14, 15; Luke 7:11-17; and Acts 24:15.
I am cancelling my YouTube account so this is GOODBYE. All the best :-)
@darrenrustyp wow,it's amazing how JW witness interpertations are all the way different? That dont raise a question to ones self! The only way to the FATHER is THROUGH ME,JESUS! So whats the fuss? When the fact remains the same! If GOD would hve came dwn as a rock instead and had the rock perform all the miracles and told you the only way 2 HIM was thru the rock wud u deny the rock? I am focused on the path that HE lead me to take everything else is simply a distraction! HIS GLORY
@jrichard1977 you painting this so clear for them. Now ask yourself this why cnt they see it?? why?? why?? I tell ppl all the time look in the mirror do you see eve?? are u being deceive or u are trying to deceive those r the only 2 4me there is no inbetwn. Some ask why? Bcos GOD has shown me these things clearly I dnt even go 2church.I hve one messiah & the rest of us fellowship!Hebrews 8:10 says u nolonger need any1 2teach u who I am.I put MY WORD in ur HEART & MY LAWS ON UR MIND!U R THE TEMPLE
@darrenrustyp To add to Colossians 1:13-15, read the next few verses which prove Jesus was NOT created.
"For by HIM [Jesus] all things were created...All things were created by HIM and for HIM."
Jesus made EVERYTHING, and guess what? He made everything for himself! Are you going to sit there at your computer desk and tell me that Michael the Archangel made everything that exists, and he made it all for himself? How blasphemous can you get?
@jrichard1977 The gospel of the Apostle John tells us that "All things were made THROUGH him, (Jesus) and without him nothing was made that was made." (John 1:3) The majority of translations use the word "through," which is wrongly translated in the original King James Bible as "all things were made by him." If all things were made through him, this indicates that he was carrying out orders that had been delegated by a higher authority.
@darrenrustyp Colossians 1:13-15 is not telling us that Jesus was created, my friend, but it IS telling us that he is overall the most important and first of rank person of everything that exists, the Preeminent One. I can prove this if you'd like.
Here's the bottom line: The verses you brought are great! But, I have shown these same qualities to be found Jesus as well! So, Jesus, by definition, MUST be God himself.
@jrichard1977 I often ask myself why is this so clear for people like you and I to see? Then GOD always bring back to the sad reality that everyone does not have The HOLY SPIRIT living in them and that is tuff to deal with sometimes, but it is what it is.The part that gets crazy sometimes we think ppl hve really been deceived that FACT is they know the TRUTH very well, those are the ones sent out to do the deceiving! They are called wolves in sheep clothing.GOD has told us to test the Spirits.
@jrichard1977 I test the spirits all the time and some are real slick with it.They say why yes JESUS is our LORD and SAVOIR and then in another sense they reject the HOLY SPIRIT now which one is it?Well they cnt just come out
& say they reject JESUS bcos then they cnt even get close to u,but the funny part about it is I tell them up front that the HOLY SPIRIT lives in me & they just brush it off going forward with their deceitful agenda, but they fully exposed bcos you cnt lie 2the HOLY SPIRIT!
It is not unusual for Gods Word to personify things that are not a person. These include wisdom, discernment, sin, death, and undeserved kindness. (Proverbs 8:19:6; Romans 5:14, 17, 21; 6:12) Jesus himself said that wisdom is proved righteous by all its children, or its good results. (Luke 7:35) Clearly, wisdom is not a person that has literal children! Likewise, the holy spirit is not a person simply because in some instances it is personified.
hi jrichard1977 i believe jesus is god in human flesh (john 1;1) but you have to remember that the word one means unity in the mind of a hebrew e.g. a man shall leave his father and mother and join to his wife and the two shall become one flesh. also god said let us (plural) make man in our (plural) image. aswell as jesus being baptised ,god (the father) speaking, and the holy spirit coming down as a dove all testify that god is three persons in one like a tree with many branches. god bless
the Trinity. Just wondering since you wrote: "Yes, Jesus called his Father "God." Agreed. But, you must agree that he also said he WAS the Father!" I understood it like you were saying that Jesus is the Father.
My bad. I suppose in that quotation, I was trying to speak of the deity of Christ in the sense that Jesus said, "If you have seen me, then you have seen the Father."
This JW points out that only God should be worshipped, then he says that Jesus accepted worship...lol...make up your mind...so then do JWs worship Jesus?
Hmmm....lol...it's interesting how the Watchtower's own Charter until 1954 stated that their purpose was "for public Christian worship of Almighty God and Christ Jesus."
"Jehovah God commands all to worship Christ Jesus because Christ Jesus is the express image of his Father, Jehovah, and because he is the Executive Officer of Jehovah always carrying out Jehovah's purpose (Heb.:3-6)." Watchtower 1939 Nov. 15 p.339
It is a waste of time debating different subjects in the Bible with people that believe that Jesus is God. If you don't actually LISTEN to what Jesus said then your arguments are empty. If Jesus is God, then why would Satan tempt him??? NO ONE including Satan can tempt his creator!
Go away, Satan!...It is Jehovah your God YOU MUST WORSHIP, and it is to HIM ALONE you must render sacred service. Matthew 4:8-10
I agree on all of those verses. Yes, let's pay attention with Jesus said and didn't say. If Jesus ISN'T God, and only God should be worshipped, then why did Jesus accept worship from so many people? If he really meant for people to only worship his Father, then he would have rebuked people for worshipping Jesus. Why didn't he?
People in the first century like many today worshiped those who are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth. Acts 14:11 Paul, in fact, said: There are many gods and many lords. There is actually to us one God the Father, and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 8:5, 6
Jesus accepted worship from people because he is a god in the sense of being divine, but he is not the Father. I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God. John 20:17, 28, 31
In I Cor. 8:5, 6, it says there is one "God the Father" and one "Lord, Jesus Christ." Does that mean that the Father is not the one Lord since this verse clearly says that Jesus is the only Lord?
Romans 9:5 - Jesus is over all, the eternally blessed God.
Philippians 2 - Who, being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God.
Yes, Jesus called his Father "God." Agreed. But, you must agree that he also said he WAS the Father!
In Philippians 2, it shows clearly that he humbled himself, became somewhat limited in knowledge and ability. Otherwise, he could not have become a man.
Also - How polytheistic are you? How many gods do you believe in?
Like the Hebrews of the Old Testament, I believe in only one God, Yahweh. No other gods really exist outside of what people make them. These are all false gods.
I would encourage you to read the words of Yahweh in Isaiah 42, 43, and 44. You will find God saying over and over again that He is the ONLY God. He even says that He doesn't even know of any other gods.
The Scriptures clearly say about Jehovah God: "Even from time indefinite to time indefinite you are God." Psalm 90:2 He is "the King of eternity" —without beginning or end. 1 Timothy 1:17 Jesus, on the other hand, is "the FIRSTBORN of ALL creation," "the BEGINNING of the creation by God." NOT the beginner of the creation. Colossians 1:13-15; Revelation 3:14
...Who has made all the ends of the earth to rise? What is his NAME and what the NAME of his son?" Proverbs 30:4
NO MAN can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him...And they will all be taught by Jehovah. Everyone that has heard from the Father and has LEARNED comes to me. Not that any man has seen the Father except he who is from God; this one has seen the Father. John 6: 44-46
I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to MY God and YOUR God. John 20:17
@jrichard1977 Yes I did in an earlier post. You are twisting the scriptures by saying that Jesus is either a true god or a false one. Those words are only mentioned in scriptures comparing Jehovah God to to the false pagan gods.
Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry YOU off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ - Colossians 2:8
@darrenrustyp I know Colossians 2:8 very well, and I agree completely that we have to be very careful to not be carried away by empty deception and philosophy. This is one of the main reasons why I try to reach out to Jehovah's Witnesses. One doesn't have to look very far to see that many of their teachings are founded upon CT Russell and Judge Rutherford, NOT the Bible.
@darrenrustyp Things like their ideas on birthdays, celebrating Jesus' birth and resurrection, not being able to serve in public office, not saluting one's national flag, policies on blood transfusions. All of these and more are completely lacking Scriptural backing, and people never believed this garbage before CT Russell as far as I know. It is a made up philosophy designed to alienate and control you into thinking you're in the truth.
@darrenrustyp However, for me, like Paul, I am living for Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. The WHOLE New Testament is all about Jesus. He is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the ruler, owner, and sustainer of everything. And, I refuse to believe that the Father is just going to sit back and let some angel make claims like this. It makes no sense at all, and the Bible doesn't defend Jesus being an angel.
@jrichard1977 Like the Illustrated Bible Dictionary admits: Because the Trinity is not a biblical doctrine Trinitarians have been desperately looking for Bible texts even twisting them to find support for their teaching.
You are continuing to ignore what Jesus said about himself and his Father so give it a rest please.
The Bible is consistent in revealing Almighty God, Jehovah, as alone Supreme, Jesus as his created Son, and the holy spirit as God's active force.
@darrenrustyp YES U ARE correct about this, but becareful how u are interperting what you are saying. GOD had to put HIS HOLY SPIRIT into something HE choice to make a body for HIMSELF put HIS HIS HOLY SPIRIT in this body and HE named this Human being JESUS HE called HIM HIS SON because HE gave birth(He brought it forth) to this human body then came down and lead the way using what HE created.HE could have used anything, but HE used a human being to get on your level! I LOVE YOU ALL
@darrenrustyp YES U ARE correct about this, but becareful how u are interperting what you are saying. GOD had to put HIS HOLY SPIRIT into something HE choose to make a body for HIMSELF put HIS HIS HOLY SPIRIT in this body and HE named this Human being JESUS HE called HIM HIS SON because HE gave birth(He brought it forth) to this human body then came down and lead the way using what HE created.HE could have used anything, but HE used a human being to get on your level! I LOVE YOU ALL
@darrenrustyp Besides that, just what could Paul be talking about when he uses the word "Godhead"? Also, look at the next verse!
10 "and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."
We are complete in JESUS??? No way! JESUS is the head of all principality and power? Does that mean that Jesus is the most powerful being that exists? Why, yes it does!
There are several badly translated and misunderstood scriptures. These are NOT.
I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to MY God and YOUR God. John 20:17
No man has seen God at any time John 1:14,18 I am Jehovah. That is my name; and to NO ONE ELSE shall I give my own glory" Isaiah 42:8 It is Jehovah your God YOU MUST WORSHIP, and it is to HIM ALONE you must render sacred service. Matthew 4:10 "Jehovah our God is ONE Jehovah," Deuteronomy 6:4
The KJV and other translations are deceptive in important Bible passages.
NOTE: The Scriptures do at times refer to actual persons as gods. However, a careful examination clearly reveals that the term god in these instances is not intended to designate these individuals as deities....
....Rather, in the original languages in which the Bible was written, the term god was also used to describe a mighty person or an individual who is divine or closely associated with the Almighty God. e.g Theos when translated to English means (a god) as it is written in Acts 28:6. However, through deception, the KJV and other translations leave the article out of John 1:1! Which way is it "a" (a god) or not "a" is the question....
....Because if "a" is inserted then the True Scripture is revealed in John 1:1. And if the "a" is to be removed, then how can Paul be God in Acts 28:6?? Read also - Acts 14:11, Acts 8:10 Bible verses that in the Greek language have a construction similar to that of John 1:1 use the expression a god. For example, when referring to Herod Agrippa I, the crowds shouted: It is a god speaking. And when Paul survived a bite by a poisonous snake, the people said: He is a god. (Acts 12:22; 28:3-6)....
....It is in harmony with both Greek grammar and Bible teaching to speak of the Word as, not God, but a god.—John 1:1. Jesus said Is it not written in your Law, I said: YOU are gods? If he called gods those against whom the word of God came, and yet the Scripture cannot be nullified, do YOU say to me whom the Father sanctified and dispatched into the world, You blaspheme, because I said, I am Gods Son? John 10: 33-36
I have heard that argument before. Do you know what the direct translation from the Greek is for Thomas' statement? It is: "The Lord of me, and the God of me."
Why would he say that to Jesus? You cannot honestly believe that he would say it to Jesus just as an expression, right? Honestly?
On John 1:1, I really don't need to discuss this one. All greek scholars are in total agreement that it should read: "...and the Word was God." There is really not a debate.
That's fine if you don't want to oppose JW beliefs. What the Bible says, however, is that Christians should rebuke falsehood. So, that is one of my goals in making my videos.
Yes, not everything is 100% clear, but 99% of people who believe the Bible is true understand and know that the Bible is VERY clear about the deity of Christ.
just because what you believe, doesn't mean it's true.
Every religion have there bad seeds, just like jehovah's witnesses believe they have the truth, and on the other end " YOU " believe that you have truth.
Hi JoJo - It is not my intent to "criticize" anyone. I'd rather use the term "rebuke" as the Bible does. The Bible says to rebuke false teachers, and that is what I am doing here. My goal is to do it respectfully. If I have offended you, for that I am sorry.
I only want the truth, and that is what life should be about. And, that is what my videos are about.
i'm attacking you for what you believe, i believe everyone should have the right
and stand true to there own belief system.
I just don't find it logical, that God is Christ and Christ is God in flesh.
There are so different segments which is contained in the bible that God and Christ are seperate.
I remember this one scripture, when Satan tempted Jesus, and tried to offer him the kingdoms of the earth, basically trying to break his integrity to God.
Good point. In my opinion, the Bible is interpreted by the Bible. I have decided that I think the Bible is the accurate word of God, and that is the book on which I get my beliefs.
There are many religions, but not all of them can be correct by definition.
So, what beliefs are there that are JW beliefs where you disagree?
Good to meet you, too, and I appreciate your comments. Thanks for being cordial as well. So many people get on here and leave unkind comments, using insults as a way to get their points across. As a follower of Christ, I am commanded not to do that.
A question for you: Are you one of Jehovah's Witnesses?
I never became a baptized witness, but i was born and raised as one. Also, i would like to include i dissasscioated myself recently, because i don't believe alot of the things the organization does.
The high mind control is one of the reason, i no longer take part in it.
Very interesting! So, that means you are a terrible "apostate."
So, you must be at least a little bit open-minded to discuss this stuff, as am I. I just want the truth, and I hope you do as well. If you watch some of my other videos, you'll see that I am building a case for the deity of Christ. It is a well-founded belief that is something that was written about by even the apostles. It is the most fundamental belief of Christianity. I would encourage you to give it some thought.
Only thing i can do is have belief there's a God who exist.
Everything just fails with me, because religion is full of crabs in a bucket.
Every say they have the truth, everyone say this is the way, no that's not way, oh come here this is the way.
it's confusing!!!
I don't see how God can be loving, caring, merciful and forgiving God if he's gonna destroy me at armaggedon because i don't agree with 1914 doctrine and other bullshit from a man made organization.
Hi JoJo - I appreciate what you're saying. I have to assume that you are a Jehovah's Witness, right?
You mentioned that Jehovah gave Jesus authority over all "OTHER" things. My question to you is this: After reading John 1:1-3, please tell me of any "OTHER" thing that was made outside of Jesus. And, please cite just one single Scripture that suggests that Jesus is a created being.
" Therefore, in answer, Jesus went on to say to tem: Most truly i say to you, The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what what he beholds the Father doing.
Note::
Now how is it possible for Jesus to being God, as in himself in flesh to say these words?
Jehovah's Witnesses frequently answer questions with a question. I'd like to get an answer to my first question. Can you cite one verse in the Bible that suggest that Jesus is a created being?
I will answer you question about Jesus having limited knowledge. See Philippians 2:5-8...
I understand why alot people may feel religion and the bible was created by humans. And people refute the existence of a God, because if there was a God he would make the truth know to us.
Then have people at odds and against one another because of different religious beliefs.
If it was all completely obvious to us about God, then we might be inclined to be like robots. But, sin entered the world, and that explains why we live in such a messed up world. It's not God's fault, it's ours.
Yeah, I don't really completely understand it myself. Here's how I look at it: If man was destined to be completely perfect and always do the right thing, loving God always, etc., then we would be robots. No free will, and no real TRUE love. Love is selfless and unconditional. That kind of love is only possible in an imperfect world. Otherwise, it would be "programmed" into our brains to do it automatically as opposed to something we choose to do.
Good question. Free will means that we get to choose to either do the right thing or the wrong thing. If we only get to do the right thing always, then it is no longer free will. Does that answer your question?
Exactly. So, that makes perfect sense, then. Because Adam sinned, we now have a screwed up world where so much makes no sense. We have to see through the haze and get to the truth.
I personally believe Jesus is the Truth, as he said in John 14:6.
Jesus says we should keep seeking, knocking on his door, and asking questions. I have so many questions and many never get them all answered, but I have the basics of God's truth from Scripture.
I would highly recommend a small book called "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis. You should be able to pick it up on Ebay for 5 bucks or so. I think it will satisfactorily answer this question for you.
Because man has a bad habit of following his own desires. If you seek GOD with an open heart he will find you. Belief needs no blind faith, belief has proof. Your faith is required for GOD not a belief about God, because faith is a deep trusting.
Good point. yes, there are many religions. They all can't be right. Someone is definitely wrong. I wish you luck in your search, but I definitely would encourage you to read about Jesus. I personally have a relationship with him and am convinced that he is just who he says he is.
" You heard that i said to you, I am going away and I am coming back to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice that i am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater then I am. "
How is it possible Jesus is God?
Sounds like what Satan said to Eve back in the garden that she will not postively die, when it was the opposite that would die.
5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
The only way for God himself to become human was to limit himself. Otherwise he couldn't be fully human & God.
" He is the image of the invisable God, the firstborn of all creation "
Now, that will clearly be Jesus, since Jehovah never had a beginning he was always in existence.
Jesus was very special to God, because he was his first born creation, that's why he call the first born of creation and everything that we see today that exist because of him.
Colossians 1:15,"...firstborn of all creation." Prov.8:22
eternityandforever 10 months ago
@eternityandforever which means that if Jesus is NOT God, then the second you worship Jesus you break the commandment of Exodus 20:3 " Thou shalt have no other gods before me. " So nomatter WHAT it says in the Bible we know that there is only 1 true God who we must worship. Plus Isaiah 43:10 says there was no other God FORMED before or after God , nor will there ever be. Since this is the case then who is Jesus ? A prophet.

What did Jesus say?
It is Jehovah your God YOU MUST WORSHIP, and it is to HIM ALONE you must render sacred service. Matthew 4:10
I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to MY God and YOUR God. John 20:17
The Father is greater than I am. John 14:28
A Mother of two disciples asked Jesus...

@darrenrustyp Can you give me an example of where the Bible says that Jesus was "created"?
On the Holy Spirit, can a "force" or "wind" or "substance" be called a "He"? Can they have hurt feelings? Can they "speak"?
jrichard1977 1 year ago
@jrichard1977 The Scriptures clearly say about Jehovah God: "Even from time indefinite to time indefinite you are God." Psalm 90:2 He is "the King of eternity" —without beginning or end. 1 Timothy 1:17
Jesus, on the other hand, is "the FIRSTBORN of ALL creation," "the BEGINNING of the creation by God." NOT the beginner of the creation. Colossians 1:13-15; Revelation 3:14
...Who has made all the ends of the earth to rise? What is his NAME and what the NAME of his son?" Proverbs 30:4
darrenrustyp 1 year ago
@darrenrustyp Those are great verses! Praise Jehovah!
Here are a few for you...
Isaiah 9:6 calls JESUS the "Father of eternity".
Hebrews 7:3 says Melchizedek (AKA Jesus) has no beginning or ending of days (eternal).
John 1:1 says "In the beginning was the WORD..." who is Jesus. Jesus was already there!
jrichard1977 1 year ago
@jrichard1977 Jehovah is 'the KING of Eternity' Jesus isn't because he had a begining which I have already given you those scriptures.
Jesus is our 'Eternal Father' in the sense that he is the second or last Adam (a perfect man) and Adam was the Father to all mankind.
The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 1 Cor 15:45; 1 Cor 15:21, 22 Jesus was the first human to be resurrected to eternal life so he becomes a Father to us in that sense.
darrenrustyp 1 year ago
@darrenrustyp Why would Jesus have to be resurrected to have eternal life when Isaiah 9:6 says he is eternal already?
On Jesus being created, can you tell me from the Bible at which point in time Jesus was created? When was it? What is the passage of scripture that discusses Jesus being created?
Then, contrast that with Heb. 7:3 and Isa. 9:6 which suggest that Jesus had no beginning and is eternal.
jrichard1977 1 year ago
@jrichard1977 Jesus is the FIRSTBORN of ALL creation," "the BEGINNING of the creation by God. Colossians 1:13-15; Revelation 3:14
He came into existence as the first creation of God. The beginning! If you or I gain eternal life, then does that mean we have always existed??
This is not even your own personal video questioning Jehovah's Witnesses so all the best GOODBYE
darrenrustyp 1 year ago
@darrenrustyp "Firstborn" doesn't mean what you think it means there. You have to go to the Greek. Here is a more clear rendering of the verse...
"Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation."
Check the Greek. This passage is most definitely NOT saying that Christ was created by God.

How blasphemous can you get?
jrichard1977 1 year ago
@jrichard1977 The gospel of the Apostle John tells us that "All things were made THROUGH him, (Jesus) and without him nothing was made that was made." (John 1:3) The majority of translations use the word "through," which is wrongly translated in the original King James Bible as "all things were made by him." If all things were made through him, this indicates that he was carrying out orders that had been delegated by a higher authority.
darrenrustyp 1 year ago
@darrenrustyp Colossians 1:13-15 is not telling us that Jesus was created, my friend, but it IS telling us that he is overall the most important and first of rank person of everything that exists, the Preeminent One. I can prove this if you'd like.
Here's the bottom line: The verses you brought are great! But, I have shown these same qualities to be found Jesus as well! So, Jesus, by definition, MUST be God himself.
jrichard1977 1 year ago
@jrichard1977 I often ask myself why is this so clear for people like you and I to see? Then GOD always bring back to the sad reality that everyone does not have The HOLY SPIRIT living in them and that is tuff to deal with sometimes, but it is what it is.The part that gets crazy sometimes we think ppl hve really been deceived that FACT is they know the TRUTH very well, those are the ones sent out to do the deceiving! They are called wolves in sheep clothing.GOD has told us to test the Spirits.
ul2356 1 year ago
@jrichard1977 I test the spirits all the time and some are real slick with it.They say why yes JESUS is our LORD and SAVOIR and then in another sense they reject the HOLY SPIRIT now which one is it?Well they cnt just come out
& say they reject JESUS bcos then they cnt even get close to u,but the funny part about it is I tell them up front that the HOLY SPIRIT lives in me & they just brush it off going forward with their deceitful agenda, but they fully exposed bcos you cnt lie 2the HOLY SPIRIT!

@darrenrustyp You haven't responded to this question:
On the Holy Spirit, can a "force" or "wind" or "substance" be called a "He"? Can they have hurt feelings? Can they "speak"?
jrichard1977 1 year ago
@jrichard1977 Re: God's Holy Spirit.
Likewise, the holy spirit is not a person simply because in some instances it is personified.
darrenrustyp 1 year ago
hi jrichard1977 i believe jesus is god in human flesh (john 1;1) but you have to remember that the word one means unity in the mind of a hebrew e.g. a man shall leave his father and mother and join to his wife and the two shall become one flesh. also god said let us (plural) make man in our (plural) image. aswell as jesus being baptised ,god (the father) speaking, and the holy spirit coming down as a dove all testify that god is three persons in one like a tree with many branches. god bless

For all intents and purposes, JWs "worship" the Watchtower and its Governing Body.
The WT can make the Bible mean anything they want it to mean and JWs are loyal to what the GB teaches.
luisap64 2 years ago
This JW points out that only God should be worshipped, then he says that Jesus accepted worship...lol...make up your mind...so then do JWs worship Jesus?
Hmmm....lol...it's interesting how the Watchtower's own Charter until 1954 stated that their purpose was "for public Christian worship of Almighty God and Christ Jesus."
luisap64 2 years ago

Why didn't he?
jrichard1977 2 years ago
People in the first century like many today worshiped those who are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth. Acts 14:11 Paul, in fact, said: There are many gods and many lords. There is actually to us one God the Father, and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 8:5, 6
Jesus accepted worship from people because he is a god in the sense of being divine, but he is not the Father. I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God. John 20:17, 28, 31
darrenrustyp 2 years ago
Phil. 2 - He humbled himself.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
In Philippians 2, it shows clearly that he humbled himself, became somewhat limited in knowledge and ability. Otherwise, he could not have become a man.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
Also - How polytheistic are you? How many gods do you believe in?
Like the Hebrews of the Old Testament, I believe in only one God, Yahweh. No other gods really exist outside of what people make them. These are all false gods.
I would encourage you to read the words of Yahweh in Isaiah 42, 43, and 44. You will find God saying over and over again that He is the ONLY God. He even says that He doesn't even know of any other gods.
I am sure you don't know more than Him!

@jrichard1977 Yes I did in an earlier post. You are twisting the scriptures by saying that Jesus is either a true god or a false one. Those words are only mentioned in scriptures comparing Jehovah God to to the false pagan gods.
Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry YOU off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ - Colossians 2:8
darrenrustyp 1 year ago
@darrenrustyp I know Colossians 2:8 very well, and I agree completely that we have to be very careful to not be carried away by empty deception and philosophy. This is one of the main reasons why I try to reach out to Jehovah's Witnesses. One doesn't have to look very far to see that many of their teachings are founded upon CT Russell and Judge Rutherford, NOT the Bible.
jrichard1977 1 year ago
@darrenrustyp Things like their ideas on birthdays, celebrating Jesus' birth and resurrection, not being able to serve in public office, not saluting one's national flag, policies on blood transfusions. All of these and more are completely lacking Scriptural backing, and people never believed this garbage before CT Russell as far as I know. It is a made up philosophy designed to alienate and control you into thinking you're in the truth.
jrichard1977 1 year ago
@darrenrustyp However, for me, like Paul, I am living for Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. The WHOLE New Testament is all about Jesus. He is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the ruler, owner, and sustainer of everything. And, I refuse to believe that the Father is just going to sit back and let some angel make claims like this. It makes no sense at all, and the Bible doesn't defend Jesus being an angel.
jrichard1977 1 year ago
@darrenrustyp I am so glad you brought up Colossians 2:8. That's a great verse. Paul wrote that because of the verse that follows it!
"9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."
If that doesn't scream "Jesus is God!", then nothing will.
jrichard1977 1 year ago
@jrichard1977 You believe Paul and I will believe what Jesus said about his Father AND God.
In the book of Revelation Chapters 1:5-6; 2:26-27; 3:4-5; 3:12; 3:21 Jesus refers to HIS GOD and FATHER, MY FATHER and MY GOD when he is in Heaven!
Next, the end, when he HANDS OVER THE KINGDOM TO HIS GOD and Father...1 Cor 15:24-28
For Only the God and Father of Jesus is called the Most High in the scriptures: Genesis 14:22; Psalm 7:17; 83:18; 92:1; Luke 1:32; John 13:16.28
I rest my case
darrenrustyp 1 year ago
@jrichard1977 Like the Illustrated Bible Dictionary admits: Because the Trinity is not a biblical doctrine Trinitarians have been desperately looking for Bible texts even twisting them to find support for their teaching.

The KJV and other translations are deceptive in important Bible passages.
NOTE: The Scriptures do at times refer to actual persons as gods. However, a careful examination clearly reveals that the term god in these instances is not intended to designate these individuals as deities....
darrenrustyp 2 years ago
....Rather, in the original languages in which the Bible was written, the term god was also used to describe a mighty person or an individual who is divine or closely associated with the Almighty God. e.g Theos when translated to English means (a god) as it is written in Acts 28:6. However, through deception, the KJV and other translations leave the article out of John 1:1! Which way is it "a" (a god) or not "a" is the question....
darrenrustyp 2 years ago
....Because if "a" is inserted then the True Scripture is revealed in John 1:1. (Acts 12:22; 28:3-6)....
darrenrustyp 2 years ago
....It is in harmony with both Greek grammar and Bible teaching to speak of the Word as, not God, but a god.—John 1:1.
Who Is Like God?? Think about it.
darrenrustyp 2 years ago
Hi darrenrustyp - OK, so Jesus is "A" god. Let's run with that. How do you explain John 20:28 where Thomas says to Jesus, "My Lord and my God"?
jrichard1977 2 years ago
jrichard1977 - Thomas' exclaimation My Lord and my God! is just an expression of the times because men were referred to as Gods.
Who are you going to believe? Thomas or Jesus? John 20:17
In John 1:1 it has to be 'a god' not 'was god' otherwise Acts 12:22 & Acts 28:3-6 would read: "It is god speaking" and " He is god"!
Whois-GodDotcom (click on 'Is Jesus God?')
darrenrustyp 2 years ago
I have heard that argument before. Do you know what the direct translation from the Greek is for Thomas' statement? It is: "The Lord of me, and the God of me."
Why would he say that to Jesus? You cannot honestly believe that he would say it to Jesus just as an expression, right? Honestly?
On John 1:1, I really don't need to discuss this one. All greek scholars are in total agreement that it should read: "...and the Word was God." There is really not a debate.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
That's fine if you don't want to oppose JW beliefs. What the Bible says, however, is that Christians should rebuke falsehood. So, that is one of my goals in making my videos.
Yes, not everything is 100% clear, but 99% of people who believe the Bible is true understand and know that the Bible is VERY clear about the deity of Christ.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
well...don't criticize other people beliefs .
just because what you believe, doesn't mean it's true.
Every religion have there bad seeds, just like jehovah's witnesses believe they have the truth, and on the other end " YOU " believe that you have truth.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
Hi JoJo - It is not my intent to "criticize" anyone. I'd rather use the term "rebuke" as the Bible does. The Bible says to rebuke false teachers, and that is what I am doing here. My goal is to do it respectfully. If I have offended you, for that I am sorry.
I only want the truth, and that is what life should be about. And, that is what my videos are about.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
More power to you on your journey... :-D
All religions are rebuking each other, but all will not know the absolute truth ' UNTIL " the God of the universe declare it to " ALL " of mankind.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
Sure. And my belief is that the Bible IS the absolute Truth, and reading it, I can know it as the Truth.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
So....don't take it personal
i'm attacking you for what you believe, i believe everyone should have the right
and stand true to there own belief system.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
Good point. In my opinion, the Bible is interpreted by the Bible. I have decided that I think the Bible is the accurate word of God, and that is the book on which I get my beliefs.
There are many religions, but not all of them can be correct by definition.
So, what beliefs are there that are JW beliefs where you disagree?
jrichard1977 2 years ago
I believe in the bible...let me say that first and foremost.
I don't believe in the high mind control, shunning and disfellowshipping people over simple things.
Anytime you feel, you have to walk on eggshells and afraid you make one mistake God is gonna cut you off.
then there's a problem, because the whole story about " SIN " must be a lie, because the last time i checked, we were imperfect humans.
All JW's had that mentality, i was the same way until i realize i had get out of this mindset
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
So...enough said on that!
I don't see how the Devil could temped God and offer him anything.
There are so many other eventful things in the bible, that clearly shows Christ is God's son, not God himself.
That's my belief, based on what's in the bible.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
Good to meet you, too, and I appreciate your comments. Thanks for being cordial as well. So many people get on here and leave unkind comments, using insults as a way to get their points across. As a follower of Christ, I am commanded not to do that.
A question for you: Are you one of Jehovah's Witnesses?
jrichard1977 2 years ago
I don't want to live my life in fear.
and everytime i consult with a JW or my grandmother is a JW.
All i hear is...welll you know what you need to do or you're gonna die and the birds gonna eat ur flesh. lol
that's very depressing and can changed ur view on what kind of person God really is.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
That's great that you don't want to live your life in fear. Nor do I!
The Bible says that God is not the author of fear. So, anytime anyone saying they are of God brings fear, you can know they are not of God.
I bring only peace from God. This is why I make videos.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
I never became a baptized witness, but i was born and raised as one. Also, i would like to include i dissasscioated myself recently, because i don't believe alot of the things the organization does.
The high mind control is one of the reason, i no longer take part in it.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
Very interesting! So, that means you are a terrible "apostate."
So, you must be at least a little bit open-minded to discuss this stuff, as am I. I just want the truth, and I hope you do as well. If you watch some of my other videos, you'll see that I am building a case for the deity of Christ. It is a well-founded belief that is something that was written about by even the apostles. It is the most fundamental belief of Christianity. I would encourage you to give it some thought.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
I'm not an apostate....
i can careless what anyone says, no one in that Organization has any authority to judge me when God is the ruler.

Everything just fails with me, because religion is full of crabs in a bucket.

it's confusing!!!
I don't see how God can be loving, caring, merciful and forgiving God if he's gonna destroy me at armaggedon because i don't agree with 1914 doctrine and other bullshit from a man made organization.

Jehovah & Jesus are seperate!
Why would God need to sacrifice his own life, to free us from sin?
And Satan also tempted Jesus, in other words the Almight God was tempted by his own heavenly son.
Jesus is a mighty God, because Jehovah gave him authority over all other things throughout the universe.
Jesus was special to Jehovah, since he was his very first creation and because of him brought other things into existence.

John 5:19
" Therefore, in answer, Jesus went on to say to tem: Most truly i say to you, The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what what he beholds the Father doing.
Note::

I don't like getting into this religious debate, because all it does is lead to...i'm right and you're wrong.
That's why i no longer deal with it, i have my own reasons on why i believe, and if you believe differently you have every right.
I'm not your average JW's that you're used to, i don't convert anything on anyone.

I don't like debating either. I do like sharing the truth of God's word, though.
Philippians 2:6 says Jesus has God's form. Who could have God's form besides God? He is also equal to God. Does God have any equals besides himself?
Don't worry, I will respect your comments no matter what you say.

Just like you're refuting my beliefs, because you believe to be different.
doesn't means you have the truth, there's billions of religions throughout the world.
everyone version is different, so im not sure what truth is.

It's not God's fault, it's ours.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
I Agree!
but i never could understand why God tested them back in the Garden of Eden.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
Yeah, I don't really completely understand it myself. Here's how I look at it: If man was destined to be completely perfect and always do the right thing, loving God always, etc., then we would be robots. No free will, and no real TRUE love. Love is selfless and unconditional. That kind of love is only possible in an imperfect world. Otherwise, it would be "programmed" into our brains to do it automatically as opposed to something we choose to do.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
See.....that what drives me up the wall. lol
Adam and Eve before sin were perfect, they still had free will at that time, which mean that could chose to do whatever.
So how sin fall into place, if they have free will?
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
Good question. Free will means that we get to choose to either do the right thing or the wrong thing. If we only get to do the right thing always, then it is no longer free will. Does that answer your question?
What are your thoughts?
jrichard1977 2 years ago
I can't refute what you just said.
Because from studying and meditating on scriptures.
Even the Angels have free will, the first rebelled starting in Heaven with Satan.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
Yes, the Watchtower is false!
jrichard1977 2 years ago
If Jesus is the truth...why are there so many religions?
I don't expect you answer that, no one knows for sure.

I would highly recommend a small book called "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis. You should be able to pick it up on Ebay for 5 bucks or so. I think it will satisfactorily answer this question for you.

@JoJoStar22

I personally have a relationship with him and am convinced that he is just who he says he is.
jrichard1977 2 years ago
If Jesus is God, why would it take three days for him to be resurrected?
What was the purpose of him praying to himself on earth, if he's suppose to be God?
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
John 14:28

Clossions 1;15
" He is the image of the invisable God, the firstborn of all creation "
Now, that will clearly be Jesus, since Jehovah never had a beginning he was always in existence.
Jesus was very special to God, because he was his first born creation, that's why he call the first born of creation and everything that we see today that exist because of him.
