  • @handyfox333 There's no such thing as the 'S' rank in beatmania, sherlock.

  • @GrtrThnClnD

(sigh)Listen, I was just saying that in DJ MAX, when you do stuff like that you get S ranks. You know, when you 100% everything...

    Get off my case...Watson...

  • 15notes/second

    good stuff

  • thats just insanity.

  • old skool Tap Tap lol

  • how do u do this if try this i keep missing

  • Excellent indeed, not only for his hand skills, but for his timings. Very nice use of using his wrist for scratching, beginning at 1:26

  • my fingers hurt watching this

  • ....all I can say is...oh shit.

  • one of the sickest things I've seen on youtube.

  • "An excellent Japanese player"

I could be wrong, but I think a good chunk of Japanese people, who play video games (which is still a lot), could easily do this.

  • @Quadcentruo god youre wrong

  • ...this makes me feel like shit knowing is still cant even get more than 2% on ska a go go or even snow D':

  • ....i think he/she even memorized the whole fingering and rhythm 0.0

  • @shadowkinz Hahah it was actually played on RANDOM mode : )

  • @DjMeas oooooooh its still cool though XD

  • What an easy 8

  • Man, I gotta find this game, looks so awesome

  • That's insane

  • what....the....fuck

  • only if it was real music

  • @JuliuStorm

Many veteran DDR players (such as myself) have moved/added our dedication to the beatmania series. I've been playing DDR for years before even playing beatmania due to the simple fact of me not knowing much about the game, so when I finally played it, I got hooked. beatmania dates back to 1997, which was before DDR; it's the grandfather of all modern music games today!

  • i swear even the sound he makes pressing those buttons are catchy

  • make yo score OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WHAT DA FACK? o0

  • wat a beast

  • so... this makes guitar hero look easy.

  • DJ Hero aint got shit on Beatmania!

  • i'm fucking astounded. that was incredible.

  • DAMN! either your fast and good at this or you lucked out BIGTIME!

  • @qwe2433

I usually luck out. really cool song. :D

  • True beat mania players use both turn tables

  • adik!!!

  • เก่งเกอน

  • unhuman

  • holy shet he got 562 combo in 1 min

  • it's sad that most people in america only know about guitar hero. This shit was hardcore, requires much more skill imo.

  • This is why I love playing this game. It a pure skill game and press the button to the falling notes with a strict timing window.

GH - it's hit or miss the note.

Bemani - Perfect Great, Great, Good, Bad, Poor

  • oh my god can ANYONE tell me what just happend? I just was confused because... how the HELL are you supposed to see the nodes if they are so DAMN fast? I play guitar hero on expert but THIS is just INSANE!

  • @1337PhoeniXx It's press the buttons according to the notes following down. Your eyes will eventually adjust to the speed reading if you keep playing the game

  • I know what he does... its just insane how fast he reads the notes... yea he maybe played it for awhile but srsly I'm good on guitar hero but THIS is just CRAZY stuff.

  • @1337PhoeniXx This game came out 12 years ago in japan...i know few people who has been playing this game for over 10 years straight and still plays it...And this song is no where near the hardest song in the game.

  • @1337PhoeniXx

Guitar Hero is child's play compared to Beatmania.

  • @keroberus2 I wish GH was out in asia :o

  • Comment removed

  • This is f***** awesome :D:D He's REALLY good. Hajrá japánok, mindent bele, a kemény dolgokba ti vagytok a legjobbak XD

  • haha it doesn't. It just gives you a false impression of what it's really like to DJ. Just like a flight simulator has nothing to do with real flying.

  • @alienorange you are correct. but beatmania isn't necessarily going for a true dj simulator. beatmania is more about completing the music as a whole, and creating the sense of "playing" a song and all its tracks. As oppose to dj-ing which deals more with taking samples and songs and creating music and mixes. As for me I don't play beatmania to feel like a DJ, cause I know its not the closest thing to it. I play it because I enjoy completing a song.

  • It's not a DJ sim okay? That's DJ Hero...This is BEATMANIA a japanese hardcore rythm game with sound effects.

  • @kolkolak beatmania is marketed as a DJ simulation game.

  • Crazy Japanese guy omg u really have no life xD but still respect dude :P

  • Good videoI couldn't even keep up with those notes. I'm really impressed! Also, because of this, I am a discouraged Single-Hand player. x_x I may have to go to two hands.

  • Really , Its Kinda Creepy

  • Game mechanics aside, IIDX is a better game because of the music.

DJ hero is a glorified 50 cent remix alblum with a plastic controller.

  • I hope you're being ironic...

  • IIDX > GAYtar Hero and DJZERO!!!

    KONAMI FTW!!!

  • i cant even see the fucking notes! this game is fucking crazy.

  • I just started playing this game last night (IIDX 13 Distorted), now I can truly appreciate the effort that it takes to be good at this game. The game is fuck hard but mad fun.

  • American/Canadian gamers tend to play everything, kinda whatever whatever. Whereas Japanese gamers usually put a little more "heart" into it. I suppose the word would be "isshoukenmei". Which is why Japanese "normal mode" is usually our Hard more. Which is why I suppose a game like Beatmania is maybe best for Japan. theirs almost a cultural difference here (Japan.vs.America). Maybe less "cultural" and more "people as a community". What it comes down to is IIDX should not be compared to DJ hero.

  • Furthermore, I don't even think DJ hero is "more fun" per say. It's certainly more creative, but it's not that fabulous, at least in my opinion. Plus I don't really care about DJ hero being aimed at a more "general" gaming community. As far as i'm concerned, you have a choice, if you want more of a challenge, choose IIDX, otherwise you can can play DJ Hero. As well, I found when learning to play BM it was still fun, I didn't "start" to have fun when I started to get good.

  • Ok really all of you, I' m living in Japan right now and believe me when I say, gaming is a more socially accept thing here, arcades are a big thing and ALL kinds of people go there, not just nerds (I really mean everyone). I've seen girls in high heels playing drummania (which has bass pedal) MANY times. And i'd have to say Beatmania is extremely popular in the arcades, just about everyone plays it, and rarely do I see a big fat guy shut-in playing anything there.

  • Why do people STILL compare DJ Hero to this game the gameplay is completely different.

Plus DJ Hero is fun and IIDX is not until you get good and most people don't care to play for a year or more to get to the point where its fun.

  • Because there's no cool underground piano community.

And go play piano then if this game sucks and stop wasting time posting faggoty youtube comments

  • Haha man i can't even imagine the levels of coolness that an underground community of shut-ins obsessed with this dumb game can achieve. If by "cool" you mean "equally socially awkward and probably fat" then yeah im sure you enjoy it a lot!

  • Actually its pretty far from it and more applicable to most music nerds.

  • making youtube account -4 minutes

find right video to troll -10 minutes

pretend to be a billionaire on youtube, and being one of the most original troll ever -priceless

theres some things money cant buy, and for everything else theres the internet

  • well, congrats thats the dumbest comment Ive seen today. You made me laugh. thank you.

  • @Orblandblo LOSER SPEAK!! LOL keep your mouth eating is better

  • leave him alone bro...jus cuz hes good at sumthin desnt make him a loser...u might as well call lebron james or tom brady loser because they are good at sumthin...smh

  • he has achieved more than most likely douche bag

  • owning both beatmania and Dj Hero they aren't even the same type of game. Beatmania has nothing to do with simulating DJing it's just click buttons to the rhythm of the song. Nothing in the rythm game genre has been as difficult as beatmania but it doesn't mean they aren't fun. 6 years ago I used to play the hell out of beatmania then i just got bored, just like i used to play the hell out of guitar hero then got bored and same thing will happen to DJ Hero. Just have fun with the game u play

  • The reason why DJ Hero is more "fun" than Beatmania/IIDX is because it's sold to a much more casual gamer. If DJ Hero were as difficult as IIDX often can be, it wouldn't sell as well because it'd be meant for a more discerning (or hardcore, if you wish) player.

Bemani games are traditionally tough compared to the new crop of American music games by design, not chance. An Easy/Normal IIDX song would equal at least a Medium to Hard difficulty song in Rock Band, DJ Hero and Guitar Hero.

  • Furthermore, owning both an import PS2 and IIDX 14 and 15 as well as DJ Hero, my interest dropped in the latter game because it was just too "simple." I wanted it to be a game worth gaining skill at because of the aesthetics of the turntable and the quick hand movements it requires to play the game. It just doesn't look as cool to watch as any difficult IIDX game is.

One could get lost in watching a pro IIDX player tackle a hard song...as it's meant to not only play, but look, difficult.

  • this reminds me of dj max :o

  • I'm looking at this... Trying to figure out exactly where you look...

Those notes are tiny. That, and the huge explosion of light after a hit doesn't help much. I wouldn't be able to play this unless they get rid of the explosion and made the notes three times thicker, seriously ._.

  • Some songs have an extremely large amount of notes; making the notes thicker would make them unreadable. That is, unless you force a higher scrolling speed. But I don't know why you would want to do that.

The explosion is not as bad as it looks and becomes easily faded out of perception (along with the combo meter) after a day or two of playing.

You are also able to customize different types of explosions as additional unlocks you earn while playing if you wish.

  • Also, the timing window in beatmania is incredibly strict. So strict that it is about as wide as the notes themselves, therefore if the notes are to become larger in size, the timing window would also have to grow, thus making the game exponentially easier.

  • hahahahahahahaha lmao!!!

  • In before a bunch of fags come in and go "omg dj hero is better lolololol!!!111oneone" even though gameplay is entirely fucking different.

  • if youre retarded

  • I have yet to understand how they can possibly interpret those tiny-ass bars when it's moving that fast. I can see it done with DDR because the notes are larger and have some visual difference on top of there being only four panels. The giant explosions when you hit a note seem to cover the notes immediately following it. Where the hell is he focusing?

  • It only takes a week or two to build up sight reading to about this speed. A month at most.

It's not as hard as it looks.

  • i think ima stick with dj hero lol

  • i heard chaka chaka chak

well the chaka chaka chak make me play patapon 2 again haha XD

  • :-O

  • This is an average playthrough for the usual IIDX player. To all the people who can't see that this is real, it is. Being an IIDX player myself, I would know.

This game does take practice to get to this level, but once you get there it's really fun.

This person is playing a song with a consistent flow of notes, so he uses both the "pinky-scratch" technique and his forearm to scratch the turntable when it is queued within the flow of notes. That proves just how real this is.

  • The point of this is to have fun making music. The sounds to a song are mapped to time and key-presses. Upon pressing the keys and scratching the turntable when the note queues, the player produces the sounds in time. It's sort of like reading music.

The player puts the beats and rhythms to the music. And, the faster the song you play, and the more rhythms and beats you lay down simultaneously, the more excitement the player gets from the game.

  • If you were good at it, it'd be buckets of fun.

Don't hate on this guy because he can coherently play the game and you can't.

  • wow, that is wack

  • agreed... i mean what da fuck was that?

  • i wonder when this will be available in the phils..

we just lost our game O2jam, got voted out i think. sigh

    made me sad

:P and filipinos are waitin fer beat mania. but me didnt know tis like this.

  • I know right...us pinoys need some iidx

  • DOLCE

    All I have to say.

  • How do you guys really press it so fast ? I have problems playing even 120 bpm. =.=

  • Unfortunately, it's not, if you take the time to practice this game, this can be done.

  • They had some decent songs, not so much that i've noticed. Dj max had a lot of good songs, but i guess the only reason why no one really played it before was becuz it only had 7 buttons on the pc, but since trilogy came out it has 8 buttons. but i gotta admit, i dunt think iidx will get beaten in the rhythm gaming

  • But....... RED ZONE!

  • But....... SPEED RAVE!

  • lol fucking dj hero will be such ezmodo compared to IIDX, don't even start.

djmax + IIDX will always >> that dj hero nonsense.

im jealous. i want a key pad for beatmania so badly

  • That's the POINT. DJ Hero isn't meant to kill your fingers like this game does.

    Casual gaming, brah!

    Look it up.

  • @flipfilmer94 LOL.....well put. Its like I always say, Nintendo is for queers and women!

  • @DeathAdder83

then I guess you play nintendo, fucktard.

  • @rorot1210 YOU'RE A GAME!

  • @DeathAdder83

    wow that makes no sense...

  • @flipfilmer94 Couldn't agree more.

  • @flipfilmer94 ....dude, this guy is amazing

  • damn... i couldn't stand all that clicking and tapping sound the keyboard was making

  • what the hahahaha

  • And compare the difference between the computer keyboard and the iidx controller.

  • Holy fawk.

  • Damn......

  • the clicking and the tapping sounds awesome

  • Oh my GAWD. I just played this game today on beginner and I could never play that. Crazy!!!

  • holy...crap...that was f-ing crazy.i wonder how long it took him to get that good ^_^

  • He's Asian, he was already that good.

  • AA?

  • screw that game, iidx all the way. i dont know whats with US making spin offs of the originals from japan.

  • at least it doesnt get butchered. besides dj hero will never have the same reputation as what iidx has established over the past years it has been released.

  • Hate to burst your bubble, but uh.... Britains Got Talent, Americas got Talent etc. aren't 'copying' eachother, since it's the same company :l

  • Some things I said are right.

    -W-H-A-T-

  • dude really?

his arms must be all loosened up from beating it to this calc book.

  • My god. That's insane.

  • .-. He (assuming that it is he) just made GH look like baby's toy, dam

  • Comment removed

  • ...okay, now that's just ridiculous. I don't know how anybody could ever get to that level of skill in this game.

  • how did he get that scratch at around 0:20..

  • he used his wrist i think?

  • this has 100% nothing to do with dj'ing.......

  • thats why it is called beatmania not djmania ,,,

  • it does very slightly, it is suppose to simulate a sampling board.

  • Only partially true: some Dj's prefer to not only scratch "on-the-fly", but also to use in real time effectors or synths (like the Yamaha touch tablet synth) rather than relying on pre-recorded tracks or predefined sets. This takes it to the extreme, where just about any note is an "effect".

  • With exploding mod its amazing that he cant keep focus though im sure he uses it all the time

  • cazzo i giapponesi cosa riescono a fare

  • im crying now D: OMG HOW DUDE FUCK!!~

  • Super pro-ness. He lives in slow motion. lol

  • Must travel in like Slowmo in his brain

  • is he scratchin with his wrist?!

    thats freakin pro! 5/5 :D
