  • The writing...Jesus! (no pun intended with this episode lol) the writing in this show is just..GENIUS!.

I miss when Funny sitcoms you know used to be actually funny. atleast we go drama shows today, which are miles better than 95% of Hollywood movies.

  • although i believe in evolution.... I so enjoyed phoebe in this... Ross was being kinda pushy (which is so ross) and scientists tend to be kinda arrogant... i believe in the science of evolution but scientists need to be put in their places sometimes!!! WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR BOAT!!!

  • "Don't get me started on gravity." :DD

  • Some people can't just let others watch youtube without feeding on them incessantly. God.. go to schoo, get a job, fucking get a life. On another note, the theory definition and scientific theory is one in the same. Evolution is sound. Big bang theory is hilarious. It has about as much proof of existing as God does. I guess that's where faith comes in for people. Anywhoozle FRIENDS!!!

  • @trunksbrief1 "It has about as much proof of existing as God does." Trolling hard, aren't we?

  • Sightly hypocritcal from phoebe there.... science has evolved and accepted that the world is no longer flat, that the sun doesn't orbit around the earth, etc... advocates of Creationism have denide for over a thousand years any other posibilities!

I'm sorry, but if we're assigning arrogance to anybody here, then I have to say it's Creationist.

  • @Jems17 I'm not sure that phoebe is a creationist either... i kinda have no idea what is her belief system!!! she marches to her own drum!!! I'm from a scientific background and i believe in evolution but I always leave a small tiny percentage in my mind for other possibilites.... and i think that is the tiny phoebe in me!

  • Let me restate what I wrote. I can't say I "believe" in Evolution because Evolution is not a religious doctrine. It's a scientific theory that is backed my enormous amount of data and accepted by the vast majority in the scientific community. For all that reject the Theory of Evolution, think about this: biology, the study of life, does not make sense without first accepting Evolution. Biology may as well be fiction without Evolution.

  • I'm a Christian, and I believe in Evolution. Why would any educated, rational person not believe in Evolution? Fossil records, artificial selection, homologous and analogous structures, etc. (way too much evidence to fit in 500 characters), are all scientifically proven reasoning behind the Theory of Evolution. And when I say theory, i mean a scientific theory, which is the closest thing to a scientific law. Cells are theories (Cell Theory), do people not believe in properties of cells?

  • Funny because evolution and gravity are still technically theories... and Ross just gets owned c'mon man!!

  • @trunksbrief1 Scientific theory is not the same as the generic meaning for the word "theory". Scientific theory is proven fact.

  • @Seldomsleeper funny then that they call scientific theory like big bang theory a fact.. hmm lol

  • @trunksbrief1 Sort out your grammar please. The scientific use for the word 'theory' i have stated, is not the same as someone saying they have a theory, a hypothesis about something. The theory of evolution is proven fact. The big bang theory has been measured and tested and is the most believed cosmological explanation. Your first comment was about evolution and gravity which are proven fact

  • @Seldomsleeper Lol why are you being offensive now? Trust me kid. Had I really needed to use grammar to begin with on Youtube (casual network) then I would, but I'm fine with keeping proper grammar in my term papers at university thanks for looking out though bro. Anyway, agree to disagree. Even PhD buddies here are saying different than what you've found on the internet. I'd rather steer clear from trolls. Have a good day, jack.

  • @trunksbrief1 I don't see why you're offended by me saying you should use proper grammar. For starters it gets your point across better. I think i'll use it in everyday life, not just in my university essays. i'm 26, i'm not a kid, thanks. I'm amused by the fact that you assume i'm a 'troll' simply because i've disagreed with your point. But fair enough, i'll agree to disagree to be civil, however, just because someone has a PhD does not mean they know anything about this subject, specifically.

  • @Seldomsleeper lol mkay kid. its just an epithet.. relax jack. peace.

  • @trunksbrief1 Your epithet is insulting so, yeah, sure, i'll 'relax.' Nice to see you're a hypocrite as well as patronizing. So sure, 'peace out' jack

  • @Seldomsleeper lol trolls always need the last one.. so fine here. after this do one more and then we're done. I'm so sick of youtube children. k here you go. i'll let you have it :::::

  • @trunksbrief1 Dude grow the fuck up, you're the kid here. What do trolls have to do with this? You're the one being flippant loling at every comment and being patronizing. If you're sick of 'youtube kids' then stop being one yourself. There we are, there's my apparent 'trolls last word' now go troll somewhere else. I should've followed the golden rule for the internet and not fed the troll..

  • That awkward moment when Ross confuses "theory" and "scientific fact"

  • Ross reminds me of Sam Harris in this

  • GO INTO THE LIGHT MR HECKLES !!!

  • Fucking creationist writers!

  • Pheobe was trolling before it was cool

  • go into the light mr heckles!!!

  • @TracyDomenica you should troll the shit out of him

  • My boyfriend wants me to have his name tattooed on my breasts. Should I do it?

  • See Phoebes argument at the end about scientists thinking they know something and finding out they are wrong is actually a really poor argument, since it's more a case of right and wrong, it's a case of being right and then being more right.

They were partly right about the world being flat, but when we found out it was round, we were MORE right. Then we found out it was slightly "squashed" and we were even more right. We didn't find it was a cube, then a pyramid, then round, now a doughnut.

  • @Pirate44444 what? the world was never flat so they were w.r.o.n.g. not right the exact oposite.. thinking it was flat would have been the same as thinking it was a pyrimad because both are wrong answers.

  • @Ambereigh The world isn't a perfect sphere either (it's slightly squashed). So you could say we were still wrong. However, describing that as "always finding out we're wrong" is misleading. You get closer and closer to the truth. You become more right.

Again, thinking the Earth is flat is more right than thinking it's wavy, so they were right to a small degree.

  • @Pirate44444 Ambereigh - Yes. The world being flat is pretty much 100% wrong dude. We were more right when we found out it was round because we weren't wrong...

  • @Illidanek They were right in the sense that if you go outside it is roughly flat. There are a few bumps and dips, but it is pretty much flat. They didn't imagine, for example, that the Earth was wavy.

If you take a sphere and you cut of a small chord, it is almost flat. So they were right to a limited extent. There is a slight gradient which eventually "creates" a sphere.

  • @Pirate44444 Obviously their claims weren't just imagined, instinctively anyone would think the earth is pretty much flat, the point is, that's not right, is it? And Pheobe is correct in saying that just because something makes sense, doesn't mean its right.

  • @Illidanek As I said before, it's not about right or wrong. Look at it this way. The Earth is a sphere (pretty much). That is a pretty regular shape, you'll agree. A regular shape as oppose to being some crazy chaotic shape. If it was flat it would also be a regular shape.

So of course, they were mostly wrong, but they were also partly right. They certainly could have been more wrong. As science advances we become more right.

  • @Illidanek Yes, Phoebe is right about that, that's why science isn't just based on "what makes sense" it is also thoroughly tested. You TRY to disprove your theories in order to strengthen them. The idea that a brick falls faster than a feather because it's heavier made sense, but Galileo, a scientist, tested it.

Evolution doesn't just make sense, it's backed up by strong evidence and has not been falsified, despite how easy it would be to falsify (if it weren't true).

  • Chandler is funny ;)

  • don't get me started on gravity

  • "Oh-oh! Its Isac Newton and he's pissed!" Awesome! But they left out when he said "Quick Pheobe, jump up and hide on the ceiling!"

  • I am so very much like Ross :)

  • best show ever!

  • best show

  • Too bad , there ain't no Black character in Friends .

  • @HollywoodChekky There was at least one black character in Friends. He dated Professor Charlie Wheeler once.

  • @HollywoodChekky Charlie, Ross's scientist girlfriend??

  • I don't believe in evolution

  • @freakrock1 ahhmm...i really hope you are joking?

  • this is the best behavior i can copy and play with my friends, if it wasnt for this series i didnt know how to act, also my mother and girlfriend like it, thats what counts (i actually got no sense for humor at all).....sounds familiar????????

  • Funny, I was expecting an Evolution VS Fairytales debate when scrolling down to the comments.

  • @martinbondesson It's great, isn't it? For once there aren't any petty, mean-spirited "discussions" on things we will likely never find out in our lifetimes (or ever for that matter).

There is hope for this world after all!

  • HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER IS BETTER!!!!

  • @MROKTM no. no it is not.

  • @MROKTM you are wro...- I, see what you did there o.e

  • @MROKTM Not sure if trolling or just really stupid...

  • i dont know if phoebe is extremely dumb or extremely smart!!

  • As much as I agree with Ross about evolution I just love how Phoebe owned him xD Way to go, Pheebs!

  • Ross never convinced me of his " scientific credentials " anyway. As a paleontologist he failed here utterly.

  • i mis friends...

  • Parody in the nineties, reality in modern days. :(

  • @SexyMelon exactly, because of the anti science lobbying this joke stopped being funny recently....

  • aw man you cut out the part when chandler says "quick jump on the ceiling pheobe!"

  • GAYEST SHOW OF ALL TIME! HA! HA! HAH! FUCK!!!!! LOL! lolz

  • Firends is the worst show every!` It isnt realistic becaue if real life "friends" are backstabbing people!

  • @valoliver1 that's why it's called fiction, love

  • @valoliver1 That's probably because you are a bitch

  • Comment removed

  • Love Ross's look in this episode. And Phoebe is hilarious!

  • I really don't care about what people believes, but I can understand what Ross is feeling... It also made me somewhat uncomfortable when the other day we were talking about the cretaceous period and that woman asks me if it was before or after the Genese... and what was Gravity and Evolution?...

  • I LUVE THIS SHOW!!! I watched it earlier on tbs where Monica and Chandler are got engaged and Monica's parents spent all the wedding money on a beachouse and all...I luv it!

  • good point

  • i love friends

  • i hate monica!!!!

  • @docdabic Y?

  • why is he trying so hard? once she said that she did not know that there are fossles all over the world to prove evolution, he should have abandoned her heh.

  • Friends Lovers!!

Would You like to watch a movie of friends- "Friends- 10 years later"?? If you do, search "Warner Bros" on google, and in their site "contact us", and right them a letter asking to do something like that.

IF YOU TRULY LOVE FRIENDS, YOU SHOULDN'T BE LAZY AND DO IT!!

EVERY LETTER IS IMPORTANT. I'm trying to talk to them for months, and I can't do it alone.. If they will see that people want this, they will do it..

like this post so everybody would see!! We CAN do it together.

  • @arikarik1

No, it's not up to us.

And there is nothing left to make a movie for. The story is complete.

  • dont need air inspace,firesun...science changes...notashutbook.....hopeyoudontgetlost

  • she trolled shit out of him

  • Epic

  • Lisa Kudrow is so pretty...

  • how could Phoebe not believe in gravity? when she tried to get pregnant for her brother, she sat with her head down and said "let the gravity do the work"

  • @beefcake0354 that was later XD when she started to believe in it

  • "But atleast I respected you!"

  • i wonder if theres's a huge debate on evolution v creationism below me. oh, look there it is.

  • @paperhearts01 Yes sorry about that but I promise I'll win ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @RG7621 Dear me! A young earth creationist! I am not going to waste my time mate, you should go and view your religion as you view other religions then you can think clearly. Evolution is a fact with scientific evidence, religion is belief without evidence which is not smart. So please understand these terms first and do some independent research and read all the views and not only believing your faith from fear. Regards

  • Comment removed

  • @RG7621

    ROFL

  • sigh every one arguing over evilution on a notalent t.v show. Hollywood is filled with overpaid garbage

  • @mosdefjb: So basically you think that it's possible to be jewish but still not believe in GOD? then how did Judaism was brought to the world? through evolution too?? I'm just asking.

for myself I don't believe in the theory of evolution, especially that it's been prooved untrue recently!

  • Fuck Phoebe. Poor Ross. :(

  • i was so angry about this

  • @latex0r chill. it's a SHOW.

  • Oh my god...I'm Ross :O

  • People never believed that the world was flat. That "idea" have been constructed afterwards.

  • Personally I think you have to be retarded not to at least somewhat believe in evolution.

  • @warsilver99 that's pretty stubborn / arrogant

  • @Vesna208 Season 2, Episode 3 "The One Where Heckles Dies"

  • what episode and season? :))

  • There's always a chance for any idea to change over time, that's why the highest you can go in science is a "theory" because scientists don't want to make absolute claims. (Even when it is very clear it's true)

Certain uncertainty does not give dumb idea's any more validity.

  • I used to find this show funny, now I find it stupid.

I'm I growing old, or just growing up?

  • is it just me or does phoebe look unbelievably hot

  • lol white girls got no ass hahahahahahaha i dont see what white men find so attractive about no butts.

  • THE MYSTERIOUS ORIGINS OF MAN

  • i dont believe in it either

  • I hate when Phoebe can act so stupid !

  • I've uploaded some friends episodes on metacafe just go to google and type metacafe movieuploader4 and one of the videos will be there

  • who doesn't believe in evolution!!??!!??

  • @warsilver99 over 75% over the world DONT believe in evolution

  • @hbk1803 I think that's pretty sad...

  • @warsilver99 okay well i think its very arrogant that you assume evolution is right. it could be the reason to how and not the reason to why

  • @hbk1803 well I think its very ignorant that you haven't taken into account scientific fact (hate to sound just like Ross but its true)

  • @warsilver99 yes and like phoebe said.... scientists used to think the earth was flat. things are changing all the time. there are many holes in evolution

  • @hbk1803 That's bullshit...

  • phoebe is a genius

  • @kurumais yeah :D

  • @kurumais

    PHOEBE SUCKS! lol

  • Anyone else confused how Ross is jewish.. but he believes in evolution? Isn't that kind of contradictory..?

  • @forevershining1 He was born Jewish, doesnt mean he has Jewish beliefs.

  • @bizou661 but on the christmas special, he tries to teach his son the importance of his jewish heritage..

  • @forevershining1 Secular/Atheist Jews are infamous. =P

  • @forevershining1 He has some connection with Judaism, (feels weird to be talking about a fictional character like this!) but he doesn't follow any of the laws, and nowhere does the show friends show that he believes in God.

  • @bizou661 Haha i know right? I was just curious how people would presume his character to be like then. It does seem weird though.. because he makes a big deal about Hannukah (sp?) but then is an avid believer of evolution. But oh well! Just a fictional character :) thanks

  • @forevershining1 The wonderful thing about Judaism (unlike Christianity) is that you are not required to beleive in G-d to be a practicing Jewish. My father's Rabbi is athesist and is the most intelliegent man I have come across. He too is an avid believer in evolution. Judaism is not just a religion, that is only one asile in the whole department store of Jewish beliefs.

  • Well, she's right though... :-)

  • don get me start on gravity...........lol phoebes

  • GO INTO THE LIGHT MR HECKLES

  • :nudetroll:

  • GO TO THE LIKE MR HECKLES

  • It is funny 'cause it's the show, but I've had real life people like phoebe who denied all the obvious scientific evidence and just believed what they felt like without foundation. I wouldn't have cared about their believing in whatever they liked, but they made ME look dumb for believing in science. The show clip reminded me of all those frustrating moments!!! Argh! x(

  • hahahah LOVE Phoebe.....she always ROCKS .... sometimes i see myself from her!

  • I hate Phoebe.

  • @nunoraimundo Not cool man. NOT cool. lol

  • I feel soooooooooooooooooooooooo bad for ross... it's like watching to young children arguing... then the other one dominates the other... and the other one walks away speechless and disappointed xD

  • Perhaps there is a teeny tiny possibility that evolution is wrong but it's the most sensible and reasonable theory.

  • @JoshLikesMinecraft

sensible and reasonable theory ?? seriously dude ?? the only sensible and reasonable theory for you is that we were monkeys and now we become humans ?

  • @MrMafja I'm guessing your Religious and I respect your opinion, but There isn't a slightest bit of evidence that there is a god, but there's evidence that shows evolution is more than a theory, e.g. You can physically see it happening, there's carving/painting in caves. By the way, we didn't evolve from monkeys, we just have a common ancestor. I hope you respect my opinion, as I respect yours and we can leave it at that.

  • OMG I think with this video I fell in love with Phoebe lol

  • This is my favorite part of the whole serie,,,love Phobe

  • Phoebe for president xD she rocks!!

  • how havnt i seen this, wat series is it?

  • @VideoGameWalk You have a hard time comprehending what you read, dont you? I didnt say I am out of your league (which i probably am, judging by what i see), judging people thrugh the internet is out of your league, thats what i said. And reconsider who is trying to sound impressive, read your own comments. Ofc this convo is futile, since ur first reply, i told you the reason i replied to lufecap in the first place nerd. As for the work part, once again your tiny brain failed. Im a college student

  • @VideoGameWalk I was mostly referring to lufecap as creationist and i guessed you were one too, since you defended him. I dont like repeating myself, you have 3 failed attempts on "understanding" me, i told you its out of your league douchebag. I attacked him because i felt like it not because of the bullshit you talk about. "VideoGameWalk" you ended your wannabe intelligent reply with a cliche that fits you perfectly. Video games is the only thing you have in this world

  • i wish they have ten more seasons of this show

  • Trolling: lvl Phoebe

  • @rickreginald Trolling? Seriously? Don't insult Freinds.

  • @VideoGameWalk Ross is the starwman genius.

You're right, this is boring and annoying. Because you're not even paying attention.

  • @VideoGameWalk so yeah....just like i said before and you now proved....these shows give a bad image of what science is!!!

You literally proved my point...thank you

  • @VideoGameWalk then phoebe, being stupid but trying to sound smart, like you, would say "wow I can't believe you abandoned your principles."

to which a real scientist would immediately say "don't be stupid! The principles of the scientific method are FOUNDED on the possibility of me being wrong. It's called falsifiability! It just so happens that there's SO MUCH evidence for common ancestry it's literally ignorant to deny it, like denying the earth goes around the sun."

  • @VideoGameWalk wow! you're trying to open my eyes! Well then that must mean you're so much smarter than me!

Dude, you have no fucking clue what the fuck yo're talking about.

The problem with Ross in this scene is that it takes him so long to admit he may be wrong. If he wasn't such a fucking strawman to make phoebe look wise, he would have immediately answered "OF COURSE I COULD BE WRONG"

  • @VideoGameWalk Didn't say you were dumb, did i? Though I'm starting to.

Clearly, your sarcasm means you're much smarter than all of us, we're just not cool enough to notice.

  • @VideoGameWalk remarkable how utterly trite and unrelated to the topic your comment is

  • @VideoGameWalk I told you, dont try to be a smartass on me. Its out of your league, proof is you think im raging on you. And , bitch please, i dont take narrow minded crap from creationists, LOL. Btw trying to reason with a creationist, would as pointless as trying to teach math to my dog.

  • @VideoGameWalk this is exactly what I'm talking about. You just advocated a person that talks to her dead grandmother in hell and thinks she can predict the future.

You have no idea what you're talking about and stupid characters like Phoebe (yeah she's a nice person and a good character, but she's dumb) make it seem okay to be stupid. It's not. Just look at the current GOP contenders.

  • @VideoGameWalk I never said i didnt attack lufecap dumbass. And if you fail to see tha arrogance in his first comment, dont reply me with your bs. And you still don't know anything about me, you unoriginal fag, you are just trying to be a smartass in a YT comment. Btw i guess you agree with his first statement, reconsider which one of us is the narrow-minded.

  • @VideoGameWalk excellent my friend. Always question. Some scientists say: law of nature. They say: 'the sun rises everyday.' while you can say: ' No there is no law only a habit. The sun doesn't rise on our planet. We move around the sun. Its no law, but a habit.' The way we discuss evolution is because we have a gift called language, which is (according to lingiusts like Chomsky) still the biggest mystery. Why do we talk? To communicate. Ok. But Why? How did it start? Culture? na

  • Friends was an awesome show! And actually Phoebe is quite right. There are other scientists like Rupert Sheldrake who talks about morphogenetic fields, Bruce Lipton about cellbiology, Paul Feyerabend etc.. who are all highly skeptical about evolution and the big bang. There could be many posibilities "why we are here". Ross talks about facts, like some religious folks do. It is arrogant and
