I don't know .. This movie sound and video captures and editing are too good to be real , but the elements like the wild fierce animals in the woods are too real to be filmed. It looks fake but I can not imagine how would they fake it.

@drhannoun81 Actually, it is not fake. The animals are real. The thing is, it's not from a documentary, it's from a theatrically released movie. So the animals are all trained. Called "The Bear", from 1988, by Jean Jacques Annaud. It focuses on the experiences of a small bear cub who has lost his mother and befriends a large grizzly. Took around 20 animal trainers to work with the bears and the puma. If you haven't seen the movie, try it out, it's great stuff!

In real life, cougars would not be chasing a bear for that long of a distance. Cougars are ambush predators. As soon as the ambush is over and kill has yet been made, the cougar's chances in making a kill deminish, especially since cats suck at running long distances and have virtually zero stamina.

Not really. It depends on how comfortable they are. You have to take an animal with a mammal cortex in much of the same account as a human. I mean sure, if it was starving during a famine or drought then sure it might attack out of desperation or if it had a disease like rabies. But surely, Lions like all cats only attack from behind, unless they are being territorial. If you pose no threat to them and never turn your back, they'll never attack you.

However, as indicated in the credits this is fiction, designed to enlighten us to the sentience of all life, animals and human. It's a message film, not a true nature film. And contrary to what someone said was the authentic sounds of the baby bear, no, those were "acted" dialog by Sandy Whitelaw. It's a good film, no doubt, but people seem to love fantasy more than fact.

One correction, I should say relatives not ancestors. Grizzlies (brown bears) of Eurasia overlap 35K years ago with the dominant Giant Short Face Bear but are driven away from Beringia by the GSB. However, 21K years ago, the introduction of humans, climate changes, in the Beringia area prove too much for the GSB forcing extinction allowing for the brown bear to move in and take over Beringia & North America.
