I think if you took the Twin Snakes controls (which REALLY needed it for those who played the original) with the original's music and some of the original cutscenes, you would have an even better remake.

Don't get me wrong on the original, it paved the way for the MGS series, but the controls were god awful to use in comparison to the MGS2 scheme.

I feel the only reason people didn't like twin snakes was because it was on the Gamecube. Personally, thats the reason i loved it so much. I Really can't stand the PS2 (controller, console, EVERYTHING) so being able to play MGS on the Amazing Gamecube controller really sold the game to me. Along with the completely redone voices, graphics, and gameplay, its my favourite one in the series,

I obviously liked the updated graphics and mgs2 gameplay but the music and redone voice acting was subpar. I also have no love for the new cutscenes. Far too many matrix moments, which make no sense since Snake has no special powers.

Oh and The Twin Snakes isn't that bad of a game. It follows Metal Gear Solid as a remake should, keeps the gameplay intact, and has a pretty damn good soundtrack.

Actually, the very first Metal Gear game was for the MSX, a console that was never released outside of Japan, and was later ported to the NES, so technically Metal Gear didn't even start on a Nintendo system. The only MG games that have ever been on Nintendo systems are the MG1 port, the non-canon sequel only released in America, MG: Ghost Babel for Game Boy Color, and MGS:TTS for GameCube. Unlike FInal Fantasy, Metal Gear and Nintendo have never had a particularly close relatioship.

All I remember was running into a room and shutting myself in a locker while their SWAT-esque soldiers came in and started clearing the room. If there's one thing they did do a lot better in Twin Snakes, it's the enemy A.I. Running from smart soldiers was panic-inducing.

And also note that PC's version was NOT online!, and the Xbox version had very low popularity due to 1. MGS2 wasn't a good MGS anyway (even tho I considered it good for the story) 2. Xbox360=Medium to low reliability, graphics are ok (providing the game don't glitch), flimsy structure (can break pretty easily), Online can cost up to 50.00 or so (not totally sure the max cost) with the fact that they in a way they restrict ur freedom of speech (MGS fans couldn't put "Snake rules!" in their motto cuz Microsoft doesn't permit the use of the word "snake").

Yes and no. The Wii is indeed technologically inferior. That said, it has some great games going for it, like Metroid Prime 3/Trilogy, Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, NSMB, SSBB, RE4, etc. It's also got some potentially great games coming out soon, like Zelda Wii, SMG 2, and Metroid Other M. What frustrates me as a Wii owner is that, despite having a number of the greatest games ever, there isn't much in the way of other games beyond those. That's why I also own a PS3.

@Master: Let's see. Metroid Prime 3 was definitely not for the GCN. The trilogy collection versions were better than the GCN versions. Twilight Princess was one of the last GCN games made, so most of the sales of that game were for the Wii version. And the games that I mentioned remain some of the highest reviewed games ever.

Oh yeah, Super Mario Galaxy is terrible. It's so terrible, that it is the second highest reviewed game EVER on GameRankings. Oh God, how horrible it is.
