How did you maintain looking after your natural hair? Did you just twist from the beginning? and keep away from blowdrying it\? It's grown so fast and i am doing my 2nd transition but this time i wanna do it right and try the no heat blowdrying method. Any tips for me?

She is natural and had Bernard for over 20 years but her hair is damaged by the single braid extensions. She can barely get braids on in certain areas of her hair because it's too short from breaking off. I love it. I actually did the big chop years ago so I felt as you did. So Awesome!
How are you doing? Your hair looks so much healthier now that you did the big chop. Before you know it, it's going to be neck length and then shoulder length. Since you text me back, I did a really big chop last year Sept 12&13th and I cut off about 6 inches. Guess what? I measured it this morning and the longest parts are now 12 inches. I wanted a certain look. Don't forget to moisturize, condition - in fact treat your hair like fine silk. Wish you the best in your journey.

i heard the comment about not getting casted if you don't have straight hair, but the thing i notice on tv shows, and commercials is that casting agents seem to prefer is natural looking hair, highly textured hair on "black" women. I don't think you will have any problems getting jobs!

So many times the fear of how our natural hair will impact our careers holds us back, but often it's us exaggerating how much of an impact it will really have. Yes, some people will judge and say "oh no!" but if you excel at what you do, they will have no choice but to accept you as you are.

@SunKissAlba I have been gradually getting used to the length. Taking deep breaths lol! Overall I love being natural though. My hair is crazy thick and I'm not fighting with the two textures. Congrats--I didn't do the big chop but I gradually cut off my relaxed hair. It's scarey but also liberating. It's sounds like you have a good man by your side. That's a plus!!

I love that I am natural but I honestly can't wait for it to grow out more. @SunKissAlba I have been gradually getting used to the length. Taking deep breaths lol! Overall I love being natural though. My hair is crazy thick and I'm not fighting with the two textures. Congrats--I didn't do the big chop but I gradually cut off my relaxed hair. It's scarey but also liberating. It's sounds like you have a good man by your side. That's a plus!!
