  • That little girl has the most patients! I applaud her though all of that!

  • ARTISTRY ! BEAUTIFUL. PERFECT FOR LITTLE GIRLS.

  • So exciting!!! It's Beautiful! God Bless you more and more to excel in every area of your life even how you've done here!!! Fanastic!

  • that's soo cute!

  • You are doing a wonderful job with your daughter's hair. It looks soft, healthy, and manageable. When I was younger a friend of my mother change the texture of my hair by putting a hot comb in it. My mother was upset with her because even though my hair was not straight it was a beautiful texture. Keep doing what you are doing with your daughter's hair.

  • A white lady is braiding a black girl's hair... Ive never seen that. Cool!

  • That was very pretty!!! <3

  • that hairstyle is actually called a fishbone braid (i think)

  • Don't know why I didn't think of looking on youtube before to help me braid/twist my daughter's hair (which has been the most challenging part of having a girl so far)...but im glad I found your videos. Thanks.

  • dont EVER put a relaxer in tht childs hair forget wat other ppl say her natural texture is BEAUTIFUL

  • I love what you've done with her hair, my daughter is 5, and have a bit coarser texture than your daughter, and I have struggled to braid her hair, but I am going to try a basic cornrow style with the beads this weekend. She loves them, and they are easy to maintain. Thanks for posting!

  • I love this hairstyle!!! This will be the next style that I do on my little two year old girly!

  • i should say tho

  • wow i really liked your tutorial!=]

  • Beautiful job as usual! Your daughter is sooo adorable and cute!

  • was ur phone vibrating during the video cuz i swear i keep hearing vibration noises and i swear it wasnt my phone....its either that or im goin crazy!...and i also ADORE your braiding...

  • @alphabetmaster600 -oh dear! I don't want to call you crazy but I am watching it through and I don't hear any vibrating :) Thanks for the compliments!

  • some of these comment are just seeing a white skinned person being able to deal with hair texture that some african americans have. but i see some1 only limiting this childs hairstyles to braids. like it cant be put in 1 ponytail and left out or put in a bun , just something other than damn BRAIDS lol.and that goes for african americans too that only think the only way to deal with this type of textured hair is to braid it all the time. or DREAD it. expand

  • i will say people with coarse hair can have more hairstyles than braids cornrows etc. ive seen some of the videos and in all i saw braids small ones at that which is time consuming . i was gonna say i hope you dont do that all the time. but then i saw you dreaded her hair. i get upset when i see kids with dreaded hair even if their parents are rastas. thats not a decision to make for some1. now if a child grows up n decides they didnt n dont want that they have to cut their hair off.

  • @msnywoman23 - Actually, this is my daughter V, and she does not have locs, my other daughter B has locs and she was involved in the decision to put them in and she has had them for 3 years now and LOVES them! I also personally know people who have taken out their locs WITHOUT cutting off their hair, so that is a possibility if she ever wants to. Or we can let them grow out a bit without tightening them and then cut them off and she will have short hair for awhile, but hair grows back!

  • @Katelynylyn

im aware they are ur daughters. just pls for the sake of she, and this goes to all parents who do styles with braids and small ones at that all the time, could you try different hairstyles for her. have you ever thought of flat ironing from time to time, i mean shes not too young for it. and i appreciate you didnt write back anything nasty to me like i kinda was expecting an attitude lol

  • @msnywoman23 - lol! I try not to get defensive, everyone is entitled to their opinions, and ideas, and we can all learn from them! I tried flat ironing, and I just didn't seem to get the hang of it and didn't love the results and felt like I was damaging her hair. But, what I was trying to tell you was that I don't just do braids, or small braids, all the time. I just don't post much about my basic styles because no one needs help with those :)

  • @Katelynylyn

thats good u change up the do's . i stilld ont know how to braid like you do. i just learned fish braids about maybe 2 weeks now ago. and im ecstatic. cornrows i thought i had it down packed but not really. thats ok though because im not really into that. but anyway kudos to you for be able to deal with coarse hair such as. im west indian but i have coarse hair , i remember when i was young my brothers wife (who is korean) had no clue what to do with my texture lol. not her fault

  • @msnywoman23 Tell us again why flat ironing would be better for her ??? Im not understanding why you rather her do such a style on a little kid. Braids are healthy for curly hair.

  • @1NeoSoulChild

i didn't say flat ironing would be better or worse. i was just under the impression braids is all she does for her childs hair. but she explained she does other things.

  • thanks for this, great video very clear to see.

  • You are Good at parting. So the key to neat african american hair. I applaud you cause I m takin my daughter to the braider. Im still trying ! You are SOOOO on it!

  • I really respect you for being able to do this and going through with it so well :)

  • i love this.....your an expert

  • The girl has a lot of hair, can you imagine when she's 15 and has her first perm, down to the waist, all natural, no extentions, nothing. Her hair will look amazing I bet.

  • i love all your videos i do my girls hair all the time and my sons a you have good ideas and they go crazy at their school saying who did your hair

  • Thank you so much for this video I can braid but styles arent my strong point people usually dont get in to detail how u did i watched your video and did my son and daughter's hair like this...i got so many compliments thanks

  • good job very nice work

  • i love that you arent black and you took the time out to learn about black hair..and you are doing a great job.. im jealous u werent my mom when i was little cuz im black and so is my mom and she did my hair horribly lol.. she was bad at every style lol

  • just a tip ... u may go a little faster if you grab hair with your index finger, while pinching the other with your thumb and middle finger :) if i find a video i will post it.

  • Your dauqhter has BEAUTIFUL hairr .

  • girl this style is called fish bone..i been lookin for this hairsyle but i never looked at this video till now lol..its called Fish Bones though..i love this hairstyle lol.very helpful!thanks girl

  • @BriLovesHeck152 - Good to know :) Sometimes I just make up my own names for things because I don't know what they are called! I will add that to the tags - Thanks!

  • wow..her hair looks SUPER healthy...you are doing a wonderful job...of her edges are still in tact and her length is great for her age.

  • i'm just curious, who's holding the camera? i LOVE all these hair styles u do on all ur girls. ur girls r so cool & cute. God Bless ur family.

  • @GreyWolfEyes1222 - my husband usually does the camera work :)

  • Wow! Nothing more to say after the word "Awesome"!

  • I want to tell you that you are doing a great job! I am so happy to see a mom really know how to do her child's hair. No offense or anything, but most people i see who adopt children of other races.. usually don't know how to do their childrens hair. So I appreciate you!!! I know you are a great mom! God bless.... Have you ever tried cantu shea butter in her hair? It is a gREAT product... it's cheap too and i like to put it in my hair and my God daughters hair... love your videos!

  • good job hun!!! i really commend you on having the patience to do that.. that would take ages to do!!!!!

  • Love this do! You have mad skills girl-thanks for sharing.

  • did a great job

  • Thank so much for postting this.Ii'm going to try this.

  • I like it! You got me trying these on my daughter. My fav is the veil style :-)

  • Thank you for learning how to take care of your daughter's hair...instead of just chopping it off...I don't know you...much respect..

  • I can't even do a basic braid. I'm so jealous. I wish I could figure out how to make my braids look right.

  • am a guy...i plan on rocking these...these are great

  • Great job. I wish I could do that on my daughter's hair. She is from Haiti and we go to the Salon. It just comes natural to you.

  • This was a very helpful video. Thanks!

  • I am proud of you mama

  • Absolutely beautiful!!! I am going to definitely try this style on my daughter's hair. I would like to say that in all your videos you display such patience, love & care with your daughter. You appear to be such a great mom. Your daughter is so beautiful, loving and very patient as well. I can tell that God has placed YOU in HER life and placed HER in YOUR life for a great purpose. Your videos not only show great hairstyles but genuine LOVE. Thank you!

  • You are good.

  • LOVE this style! So creative and just beautifully done. You are so gentle with your daughter's hair. It is lovely to see! Thank you for creating these very educational videos!

  • Great job. Im going to try this style on my little one.

  • That was beautiful!!! GREAT JOB!!!

  • that looks so pretty but i dont think i could have the patience sectioning it all into little boxes lol ur daughter is such a cutie btw :D x

  • GOOD JOB MOMMY!

    xoxo

  • Beautiful hair, beautiful girl, loving mom!

  • Congratulations because of your patience, for you and for the beatiful girl!

  • There's nothing I hate worse than a caucasian person adopting a african american child and not taking care of their hair properly. Let me say my hat goes off to you. You're the bomb if I must say so myself. You are very unique. Keep up the good work and keep your beautiful spirit.

  • I 100% agree with you. It is sad. It is also sad when they have biracial children and don't know what to do with their hair either. I've seen it happen too many times. They'll go in the isle in Wal-Mart in the "ethinic department" with a black or biracial children with uncombed heads. They will just stand there and stair at the products. Then they will walk off quickly when a black person comes in the isle.

  • could this style work on white hair? and if so would you have to rubberband off the squared sections before doing the center french braid? my daughter loves her hair braided unfortunatlly im not so great at it yet

  • Wow, where'd you get the ideas for these different styles. Thanks s much again very creative.

  • What a cutie! I wish coconut oil worked with my hair: I hear such great things about it, but it makes my hair stink like...spoiled milk., and it makes my scalp flaky :(

  • I Learned how to cornrow from your videos!

  • These videos are so awesome! I'm 27 and bi-racial. My mom was asian, and had no clue how to do my hair when I was a kid, and just fumbled through it. Seeing videos like this would have saved us a lot of headaches when I was a kid! I'm so happy your putt thing out there for others, and that you show HEALTHY ways of taking care of naturally curly hair. Excellent posts...

  • I am extremely proud of you, I have never seen other races do black kids hair so good, you do hair better than me Wow great job, keep it up

  • your work is beautiful!

  • i love how their hair always look so shiny and healthy! ty!

  • Coconut oil huh? What other products do you use? You should have your own school... but keep the vids coming.. Ty!!!

  • This is so pretty and creative, I might have to try it on my own hair : ) Thanx!

  • I am always so proud of you, Katelynlyn! You are such a good momma.

I'm sure your girls are just as proud of you as you obviously are of them. You have a beautiful family. I'm glad you're on YouTube for the world to see. We need to see love in this ugly world. <3

  • wow i really like the way you braid its differnt from what most ppl do and i bet it doesnt hurt

  • This is beautiful, and I love her hair! :)

  • Hi, i wanted to say that i love all your videos and have tried the box braids on my daughter. What i fine hard is that my daughter's hair is so fine and long, any tips?

    thanks

  • Really nice job!!!

  • Hello!

This is impressive and every way. I have two girls and I am learning and your videos helped a lot. I looked at the journey and you really made her hair beautiful. I would like to know where you got the style designs because I really want to try them. I already have favorites from your video.

  • well you don't see that everyday

  • i like all the little styles you do....how can you stay soo patient?

  • I really like this. I will mos def be doing this style in another week or so to my daughters hair when I redo her hair. Your video's are great. I have been doing all your styles on my daughter. I have even done some of my own ideas. Thanks for the great videos.

  • WOW This little girl must have the nicest hair styles in her school. My daughter is only nine mos old, she's doens't have much hair yet, I can't wait to braid her hair. I saved all your videos to my favorites. Great job!!

  • you do a really good job. Just practice your hand techniques...it's much easier if you can concentrate on a smooth transition that way your fingers won't get so tangled.

  • yeah, it is hard to do when I am trying to hold my hands in a way that the camera can pick up what I am doing and I am trying to explain and braid at the same time! My braids never come out as nice when I am taping :(

  • I would imagine it's so distracting to do it this while taping. You do an amazing job and I wish my mom would have cared about my hair as much as you care about your little ones. My hair is different from my mom's (mine is a looser tcurl than hers) and she had an awful time figuring it out and gave up and relaxed my hair early. Hair is a powerful thing for black women and it's so important to have a positive experiences with grooming at a young age. You're a great mom. :)

  • she sits so good for you...i get style ideas from you!

  • you always make good videos ... long time no hear from you, your babies are getting big

  • Your baby keeps getting more and more beautiful! Her hair is looking fantastic!!

  • Thanks so much for posting this. It's such a cute style. V's hair has really grown!! Please keep these videos coming. I can't till my daughter's old enough to sit still :-)

  • what's that white stuff at the ends of her hair? if u don't mind me asking. bcuz i c them coming up a lot.lol

    very cute hair style.

    -punkprincess2111

  • It's the coconut oil.

  • You might see little white chunks - that is coconut oil, it eventually all melts in.

The ends though look white from the oil/water spray. Sometimes with spray or a leave in conditioner the hair gets a little foamy when combing it. Once the hair is dry it is not white any more, but it is nicely moisturized!

  • this hairstyle is very cute!

  • Great Style, I will try this on my little girl. Your girls hair have really grown.

  • Great job as always! Her hair has really grown....it's beautiful!

  • Wow, your daughters hair has grow. You do a good job of taking care of hair.

    Nice Work.

    Peace

  • I love your videos. Thank you so much for posting! Your skills are wonderful and you have beautiful daughters. I can't wait to see more of your work.

  • very nice work i wish my daughter would sit still enough to braid her ponytails

  • Great technique.

  • Very nice! you braid in a unique way. I've never seen anyone use their thumb to separate the hair while cornbraiding. Great work.

  • Very cute!

  • The rows are so neat. Very nice.
