  • i deffintly agrea with u i do not like the 4th gen camaro they were gettin a lil on the rice side and i belive thts wht made them stop them for a couple yrs. with the 4th gen camaro they lost tht muscle look to it like my 87 iroc-z camaro has tht muscle look and the 4th gens are just more sporty looking not wht they are suppose 2 be. plus i dont like the sound of the 4th gens my iroc-z actually sounds like a muscle car.

  • yea i have a 97 z28 and it is more of a sports car than a raw muscle car. but thats because they have the Y-pipe. but yea i have an 83 Z28 and it screams MUSCLE. i have a 327 block and im going to try and get 600-700hp all motor but i'll most likely have to stroke it to get that much power. then add a 200 shot. well i have to say that my LT1 has more of a old school muscle sound than a LS series engine. also its a fun street car if you get the 6 speed.

  • ya they are growing on me mostly the later lt1's and the 02ish super sports arnt bad but im more of a 1st -3third gen fan. ya i got my 87 iroc running now and sounds wonderful and well its fuel injected so its not a nice carb v8 rumble but the exhuast is rlly nice sounding and the whole car is stock! and its a 305tpi. im going for a fast burn 385 or if i think i can build a performance version of the 350/290 engine. no forced induction at first though.

  • se im only 12 and well i wanna build the 350/290 engine from the base with the block and some other parts and add a better cam, heads and other parts and do you think i could do it even though with no mechanical experience or and no help? if i do should i go fuel injected route and add a full stealth ram system or should i go carbed? im trying to get it so it'll beat a ls3 vette just a stock 1 or atleast a ls2 vette. im trying to have a killer iroc by the end of highschool. ths is my new profile

  • if it was me i would keep it fuel injected first i would put on some long tube headers, an exhaust system, and some gears. then see the difference in power. really if it is up to me i would keep it fuel injected. add complete full bolton( full exahust, full intake- CAI,TB,intake mainfold, TBspacer,full ignition- like 8.5 wires, pro distributor, MSD series 6 box, bigger injectors, fuel pressure regulator then go with a H/C combo.

  • ya thing is that i wont be able to add the gears and the stuff on the bottom of the camaro and i'll probaly have to have the engine tooken out or just get the stuff installed because i figure since with a new engine i would be starting out with everything pice by piece. srry whata mean by H/C? so i probaly will go fuel injected so should i go with the stealth ram? what gears should i get i want something that is decent for acceleration but still can give me a good top speed.

  • also take your car to the track after every section you complete like after you add LT headers and exhaust take to track, then after you finsh the intake take it to the track. see what im saying. its fun to see your progress in power. and after full bolton and H/C combos not enough for an LS3 vette, invest in a 75-150 shot of nitrous. then you might even have a Z06 killer. but you can go carbed to lol.

  • if you can i would swap an iroc 350 in and then mod. but if your going to do stop light racing at first, then keep the 305 and do boltons. then later when you get some good money swap the 350 and then start doing the big money mods. and i think a Z06 will run a 11.5-11.2 stock.

  • the zo6 i read on a corvette website from like 10 diffrent mags they say its about mid-high 11's and this is with pro's so most ppl would be around low - mid 12's. mines a auto and as long as im not going on the freeway's looks for races agaist zo6's i'll keep the auto. so should i ditch the tpi and add holly stealth ram? so what gears should i get?

  • i have seen the mags your talking about for some reason peole at local tracks some how run faster than what the pros run. and if you go with the stealth ram you would be going into the LT1 setup thats a really good setup i would have to say. im pushing 340-350 hp with just boltons on my LT1. and if your going to keep it Auto i would get a shift kit. and 3.73 would be max to get. but i would look into 3.42 gears if you want to keep some top speed. o and H/C is heads and cam aombo.

  • really all i know is that you will still get good-ok drivability on highway from 3.42 gears. im putting 3.73 gearsin my LT1 and i hear they are ok on the highway. well i hear an iroc can run a iroc can run a 15. so with exhaust & headers you can hit between 14.4-14.5. then add a shift kit, upgrade the ignition, and add a TB spacer. than i would say 14.1-14.0. with those upgrades right there you can hang with stock LT1 camaros & kill 94-98 bolton GT's. & gears and exhaust , you can do it yourself

  • ok well what do you all need to install the exhuast system? like i heard you have to remove the engine to install headers but can you do it from beneath with little hassle? how long does it take to remove old and install the new exhuast system, and what tools do you need.

  • you shouldnt need remove the engine to put on headers. what i would do is wait till you have both exhaust and headers, pick a weekend( i would pick a saturday morning) start early and put both on. you might need a saw to cut off the old pipes. but really all you should need is a set of wrenches, a rachet, socket set, and torque wrench, jack, and jack stands. i might take 1-2 days if you put them on by yourself. maybe 8-10 hours if you have 1-2 other people helping. and headers are a bitch.

  • yea thats what i thought. on a lift it will take 2 hours at most, but on the jack stands your work area is limited so its harder. it could take you longer than i said or it can take you less time to put it on. but most likey your going to end up having to cut out the old pipes. if you can have someone help you it will go faster. but i would wait till you get both exhaust and headers. then put headers on first than put pipes. its literaly going to take you all day to put hem on. but its worth it

  • ok ya there's this guy i met that built his own 68 chevelle and i havent seen the guy for MONTHS but i'll run by there some time to see if he helps because he probaly has a lift and he already has experience with that. how much will the headers and exhuast system be? how much more power will i get?

  • it will probaly cost around $1000 for headers, y-pipe, and catback system. headers and off road y-pipe will run between 450-600$ and a catback system will run $400-$500 depending on what make you go with. lets see long tube headers with off road y-pipe will get you between 25-40hp depending on what supporting mods you have. and an exhaust system will get between 12-25hp. again depending on what supporting mods you have. also your going to need intake mods to match exhaust mods for best hp gains.

  • not sure about how much torque you will gain but i would guess around 20 ish. i would say 150 for a CAI or ram air intake, a TB spacer should cost less than $100. K&N air filter around 60-70 bucks. & maybe a bigger throttle body around 300 bucks for one. but you can get away with the first 3 things. & you will get more power out of the headers and exhaust system because the cars inhale is matching its exhale. so maybe another 5-10 hp gain from the exhaust & around 15-20hp gain from intake mods.

  • have you ever worked on an LT1? if you havent then stick a cock in your mouth & shut the fuck up & if you knew how to read i did the whole ignition upgrade as well. which includes the optispark (distributor) that is located behind the water pump. and guess what you cant put the plug wires till after the headers are on because you have to run the wires through the headers. so yes 9 hours is an accurate time to do headers, y pipe, MSD box, plugs, plug wires, blaster coil & harness on an LT1.BITCH!

  • truth be told i own an oldschool w202.. the stalk version sux ass for power so i swapped for a ls1 (out of my poor wrecked 97 comaro) redone with a Mahle 9.6 compr. pistons with Eagle rods and crank.. then i added a 76mm tubonetics single turbo.. there are a couple other things besides.. the turbo job was finished in august and vids should be up soon (hopefully).. its been called frankensteins monster haha
