i need to make one of these. btw the canadian pronunciations comes from the vast number of scots who emigrated there.................. hence why i dont make vids you would all take the pish ;)
Cool vid. I've been planning on building my own board and have been adopting a few different ideas from all the different vids on youtube. Thanks for the inspiration :)
say, it's all good. i thought i'd make a suggestion about spray paint vs other types. anyway, back in "the day" we didn't use velcro. what we'd do is take the small screws out of the bottom of the pedal, then get longer one's and just drill holes to hold the pedal to the board. get this. i once knew this guy who actually took the guts out of pedals, drilled holes for on/off vol., dist.,ect. jeez, he just mounted these pedals guts to the underside of the board!
@rocknrolldaddio Thats actually amazing that he did that! probably could be space effective, never have to worry about knocking your settings ect! Thanks for that man!
most professional boards are in fact 36x18... huge to be sure... but it'll fit good... especially when you have multiple pedals ranging between 8-15 pedals...
Well that is a highly debated topic becuase Multi effects are cost and space effective, but have weaker tones than individual pedals which are more expensive. But the true fact is stompboxxes have better tone.
iv played guitar for 7 years now and know quite abit about pedals
it all dpends what sort of budget your on i myself cant spend to much so i tend to go for secend hand pedals but thats allways a risk buying second hand (dopnt buy from ebay or any place online go to a shop!)
if your allrite for money splash out and but boss pedals there all spectacular and will last you many years.
the main ones or maybe distortion pedals, equalizers, volume and speciality pedals. I advise you to visit the official websites of famous guitar pedal brands, like Roland, Boss us, Digitech. Take a look ;)
I love effects. :) I wish I asked like you though. Lots of wasted money. So, good job. :)
Listen to me: get a tuner first. The Korg Pitchblack is the most accurate, and is one of the cheapest ironically. If you are out of tune, everything sounds bad.
Then, if you want/can, get a preamp/compressor and a distortion. People forget to clean up the guitar before destroying it with effects. It will do wonders for anything else. Preamp first. Then, something universal like a distortion I would say. :)
haha its not that big of a deal...Canadians pronounce the word about differently... the ou sounds more like oo instead of ow...but anyways its a pretty good video. I made my pedal board out of an old briefcase my uncle gave me haha
haha sorry man but we dont pronounce it aboot. i dont know where i said that in the video, if you could point that out it might give me a laugh or 2. ahaha we pronounce it abowt
hey why don't you calm down a little bit? did you not get hugged enough as a child? i was just pointing out something i found a tad funny. It's a cool board especially because it's home made. Nice video 1DAngus1.
cool good job. mine was goinna be alittle like urs but the wah and volume were rasied up 2'' higher than the lower level and at opposite ends. dunno how im gonna make the patchbay tho... i got a long pedalboard in mind lol
Lol, i have a similar design. I have the second...shelf...and i have longer pedals are random ones on the first layer, then on that shelf, i Have boss pedals, ones i use most, distortion, Delay, etc, then on teh side I have a mult-effect pedal...and a wah.
I cant say i LOVE boss pedals. Their built like tanks and last forever, but theres only a few that dont lack in tone and features. i find some boss products lack in features.
And just to give some imput on your rig. Dont put pedals in if you dont use them. if their just randoms, dont put them in your chain. It will most likeley dilute your clean tone. Keep as little pedals as possible, unless they are needed and quality pedals. or True bypass.
lol, i meant they are arranged randomly. Ive used about 3/4 of the board, mainly because I have those multi effect pedals. Like, some BOSS ones, and an EVH flanger.
I havent even seen that video. Ive wanted to build one for a while. And i was reading forums on how to do it. Then i was like, wait..... its really nothing that needs to be explained in deatail..hahah

or you just buy a simple multieffect

True say man, Ive bot a bunch of boss pedals and their tanks, last for ever, but some of the tones are not as good as other brands.

Effects are also all preference, what sounds good to me may sound like shit to you.. but as the others said Tuner and Overdrive.
1DAngus1 2 years ago
@MATINK97 the ones i like are definately a delay, a distortion, an overdrive and a tuner.
also, depending on what you play, you could get a flanger, phaser, or heavy metal pedals
