  • It is so frightening.

  • Study, study, study..All theory with academics like you. You Mr. Professor, have never taught in front of a high school/middle school classroom, I have and do. You lecture wanna be teachers in a warm cumfy college classroom. Idiots like you are a large part of the problem. Its gangs Mr. Professor. These gangs have to be dealt with. You ignore that. The problem will have to be dealt with or you will have a situation like Thailand where over 100 teachers have been killed by Muslim separatists.

  • Maybe if the mention of a God, or a code of conduct and morality, had not been made illegal to speak about in schools, could this trend reverse itself? But, you're right. Academicians like this guy are completely out of touch with reality. He's spent too much time in classrooms, and not enough time in the real world. Maybe he wants to be PC, and not bring up the gang element, which ignores the real problem.

  • He is part of the "self esteem" industry. Like the dinosaurs, they will become relics of a bygone era. All I can say is "Good riddance". You're right though, schools need to return to the "10 Commandments"....the sooner the better. What is really scary is that terrorists are getting behind the gangs. Their goal is to turn the Western world into chaos from the inside out, using gangs as a Trojan Horse.

  • "Self esteem industry"? Yeah, you bring up an interesting point there. I like your "good riddance" position, too. Which terrorists would be in alliance, or infiltrating the gangs? Are you thinking Islamo-terrorists? It would be a good avenue for the terrorists to go underground, camouflaged in some sort of ethnic gang.

  • You might also call it the "grudge:" industry. They tend to focus on "rights" rather than not to focus on "responsibilities". They had once been called "the Left". You are right in that they have come under sway of terrorists who are Islamofascists. Ironic isn't it? Once they had been the enemies of fascism and now they ARE fascists!!!! When one says "Gangs", they mean "Drug Gangs" and who is the biggest drug pusher? Al Qaeda in Afganastan where 90% of the heroin comes from.

  • Why do you think our military is ever present in the region? Our military is helping to protect the heroin production. There's BIG money in opium production, legally and illegally. Heroin production has been going on in this region for centuries. Remember the Russians were there before us.

  • Or it could be that we want to catch the ones responsible for 911. It could be that we are attempting to put an end to "The Base" via unconventional and asymmetric warfare... Just a theory. And considering the (literally) billions of dollars we spend annually on the DEA, I somehow doubt that the U.S. government wants more opium in the U.S.. Opium capital is pocket change compared what we are spending on the war on drugs.

  • The "War on Drugs" is a massive waste of precious tax dollars. This ideological "war" has been a total failure. There's more drugs on our streets since the establishment of this war than previously. It would be impossible to eradicate drugs from society. Just ask anyone in Big Pharma. Are we to believe the gov's excuse that we're in Afghanistan to "get the Taliban"? I don't think so. All of these resources spent on getting the Taliban is nonsense. Opium production sounds more realistic.

  • Think about what I just said. We are spending MORE on the war on drugs than a supposed U.S. interest in opium profits. That would translate into a monetary LOSS. Your assertion just doesn't hold to basic logic.

  • The ones involved in drug smuggling are making money on both sides. The CIA is flying in the cocaine from S. America. The DEA is helping to bring in drugs as well. Do you think these guys are going to ignore the tremendous profits of drugs? Local cops are being busted all the time for dealing drugs. Ever been to a cop party? There's more pot smoking, and cocaine use, at cop's parties imagineable. The Gov wanted an excuse to circumvent the 4th Amendment, and drugs was the perfect alibi.

  • For the record, the CIA doesn't have any division dedicated to drug enforcement. And before you say "they can't acknowledge the existence of a war on drugs unit" let me say that the CIA has at least published material regarding the existence and activities of the Special Activities Division, the CIA's paramilitary strike force.

But, I realize that such facts will not convince you. Had I known from the beginning that you were a whack job, I wouldn't have bothered posting in the first place.

  • Why do you believe me to be a "whack job"? Remember Col. Olive North, and the drugs for weapons fiasco in Nicaragua? Look up Barry Seal to find out more interesting facts. Anyone who believes that the government is truly trying to "keep drugs out of America", has been sadly duped.

  • @joe80dman prick

  • @Karestase : Go ahead and call me a "prick" for speaking the truth. The CIA, and DEA are smuggling the drugs into the country, the inner city gangs distribute the drugs, and the cops, lawyers, judges, correctional officers, parole officers, and rehab specialists keep their lucrative jobs. This is all very well documented if you know how to read. Law enforcement is making cash money on both ends, many retiring into million dollar communities. Prohibition never works, at least not for the people.
