Thankyou for posting this classic and an extra thankyou for a great video that's tied in with the song. it's worth watching again and again. I do believe Ding Dong the Witch is dead was bigger owing to it's novelity, like was Little Red Riding Hood or Peter Rabbit. all from the same era. This hit is definately aimed at mature listeners only.

@Ezdduf4kuZ I'll counter you in saying that the bet the band had paid off regarding Ding Dong. As novelty-ish as it stands in history, I think it's a GREAT little arrangement, some very good pop for it's time, I'm guessing (I'm only 44). The flute, to me, is decoration, and the drums and bass really carry the day well and make it interesting.

That said, it's nice to know that these guys were more than just a "novelty act". Thanks for posting this, Bsidehep!

Fascinating. Do you know what the holdup has been with the "upcoming" Sundazed CD? They announced that as an upcoming title probably 6-8 years ago, but it never came out. I assume it's some licensing issue, but then again Rhino and Rev-Ola Records have had no trouble getting other stuff from the Jubilee label.
