A true story: My Mother lost two Uncles to the Black and Tans. They marched them both down the street. Ones name was Pat and he was a bit touched. As they walked down the street surrounded by the Tans he sang "Wrap the Green Flag round me". They were both put against a tree and shot for treason. Neither of them even owned a weapon, never mind ever having shot one.
