Where would Church music be without Stanford????? This is what I call an anthem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a much of the Irish love of a good story here and excellently told by the old Dubliner.
This is very epic- reminds me of Elgar more than Stanford almost! I need to get my choir director to do this one Sunday. It'd be huge amounts of fun to sing. "horses are swifter than LEOPARDS", lol :D
How delighted I am to find this anthem here (and so fabulously performed). I sang it at St Paul's in London a couple or so years ago and have never heard it since. What a breathtaking journey of emotion the words and music are.
