If you care about truth, you must accept the fact that islam is not all good.

Before or after that verse, I'm willing to bet money that the Qur'an chiefly advocates self defense or peace. Islam advocates as just as much peace and violence as any other religion or any other atheist.

First of all you're reading an interpretation of the book, because it is impossible to transcribe the words and feelings of teachings into another language without it having a confrontational tone. You have to know how to understand classical Arab in order to properly understand the conveyed feelings.

With that being said though, I don't blame the religion which advocates peace and the people who actually practice the religion correctly. Real Muslims are not oppressive, sexist or any of that. The hard facts are that the Qur'an does not advocate war and there is no "Pope" figure that creates the rules and guidelines. The Qur'an is a book that is completely up to reader interpretation. If you follow the Qur'an to the word, you will not be motivated to fly a plane into a building of innocent people by any means.

Islam is interpreted differently over a vast amount of groups. My only appeal is that you single out the people who have interpreted it as a means of senseless violence and not the religion as a whole because its texts suggest otherwise. People who are truly peaceful and kindhearted may take offense and that's not really fair to them.

@Libertarianist All this comes down to is a belief. Rather logical or not it's a person's right of free will to believe. I would like the separate the belief from interpretation and action. The action portion is the problem. Religion is a poison on this Earth, but if a person has not hurt anyone or broken any laws then in all due fairness we should avoid insulting them and leave them alone. The book itself, I'm sure, does not encourage war so lets attack the people who encourage it instead.

Before or after that verse, I'm willing to bet money that the Qur'an chiefly advocates self defense or peace. Picking an obscure verse off of Google from a Qur'an interpretation when you know nothing about the religion means nothing. @undertow9x First and foremost I've taken multiple 300 level Islamic world studies courses, so I know for a fact that you have to do more than just "read an the Qur'an." First of all you're reading an interpretation of the book, because it is impossible to transcribe the words and feelings of teachings into another language without it having a confrontational tone. You have to know how to understand classical Arab in order to properly understand the conveyed feelings.

I honestly don't know or care about their laws or morals too much on a nation to nation basis but the fact of the matter is they have no chance of changing anything here in the United States so why are you bitching about it?

I have also spoken to Muslims face to face. Whatever sick and twisted opinion Fox news has molded your poor mind to believe is false. I would also like to point out if anyone is intruding it is the U.S. Did you know that 70% of Afghans -- I believe -- don't even know why we are occupying their country?

I posted on this video a while back ago having less knowledge than I do now and it is sickening to say the least to hear these false claims and prejudicial remarks.
I'm about to post a book that all of these Anti-Islam folks should read in order to put things into brutal perspective.

my parents are hindu, i don't believe in god
but it does not ask to blow your kids off, marry with underage, and hinduism respects women.
it is all about tolerance, the contrary of islam...that is why these fuckin muslim fags abuse our freedom...
but i do not agree sayin this or that religion is bullshit, people have the right to believe in their god...as long as their religion is not evil.
