We are all born with extraordinary potential. We aren't all capable of such extraordinary vocal displays but every human being has the potential to let similar such inner beauty shine forth. Whether it be musically or otherwise, we should all be so inspired by the life work of Bobby McFerrin.

Wish I knew the words and had the courage to go and sing with him... he said that he loves this song. And I LOVE both the song and him.

The "don't" comes on the and of 1, and each syllable thereafter gets just one eighth note. By my count that makes "zero" the last two syllables, and it sounds that way to me in the recording.
She clearly says "gonna be a". Put on a pair of headphones and turn up the volume. She says "I don't care if it's 5 degrees below zero gonna be a bright...(bright)..bright....(bright) sunshiny day." Parentheses are Bobby singing.
Sing along with her and say "...5 degrees below zero Bobby"....it doesn't fit. After she says "zero" there are 5 syllabus: bum bum bum bum bright. Replace bums with "gonna be a".
I actually saw him take someone from the audience to perform this in Moscow, Idaho about 2 weeks after this. He got the whole place singing this with him too. So amazing. (:
Incredible sense of time, perfect "hints" with his bass line, magnificent tuning, consistency with accents, and amazing accuracy and dexterity with crossing registers. And HOW did he put in those harmonies with the text and get right back to the bass/harmony mixture RIGHT on time, like that??? WOW!!
When Bobby McFerrin shows up on a campus, music professors are revealed as *gasp* human beings! Who have fun with music! It's enough to make your average freshman music major feel faint. :-)

I've been watching McFerrin videos for about 2 weeks now that I just found out about him when I stumbled upon one of his videos on youtube. I've never seen anything quite like it - magical. Also the only artist that I've ever seen so many comments on, and all of them positive.

You just have to smile!!! I'm going to toss out all my antidepression meds and just watch Bobby McFerrin videos whenever I feel I need a boost.
