Water reflection honestly shouldn't be implemented unless it's specifically for a placid pool of water. More dynamic type bodies of water won't be as such, and in that situation, honestly you could probably do away with reflection all together, go a purely refraction + bump mapped type of water.
looks very slow for a GOU shader. You could use more specular hilights & less reflectivity. if you introduce more noise & caustics it will greatly improve believability.
You can always just put a couple of planes in the air that move. So that it will increase realism. On the event you may come close to them you render a 3d cloud.
Man i have to say thats incredible...yeah u r right that is too reflective but i think its real nice...especially i like that first look on the water...seeing reflections and groundd of sea...i wish to be as good as u...im learning opengl now im worried that i never can do this
Hey you can do anything man, it just takes time to learn. I always wanted to do game programming as a hobby but it like way too much for me. But I am taking it bit by bit and getting the resources I need and now it has become a reality. Keep workin man!
Very nice work mate! May I point out to you that what you mean to say is "quite" instead of "quiet"? Quiet is a synonym for silent :)
Keep up the good work!

The water needs to distort some of its reflection.

that's what the uploader said in his description dumbass

"I find it too reflective, like a mirror"
That does not necessarily mean that he wan't s the water to be distorted. It just states that
he finds the water too reflective.

if we were only talking about the sky ;)

it would be more awesome with 3d clouds on it

3D clouds would eat the CPU. It's best to leave 3d cloud rendering for games where you actually see the clouds up close, such as flight simulators.

indeed, not to be offensive, but it's most good for watching movies (high end games won't run on it)
