I wish conservatives would stop kidding themselves about Coulter. She IS what the movement is and wants, small-minded and simplistic invective coupled with raging bigotry. How else did she become the star she is today? I'll believe in a mature and serious conservative movement the day the Coulters and Savages no longer have a platform. American conservatism has been co-opted by authoritarianism, which is scary as hell but NOT a viable political philosophy.
